Defunct tracks and what’s now built on their sites?
Beirao replied to rearingtogo's topic in Years Gone By
And a police station. Motherwell a school and a park. Blantyre 1 an expressway and Lidls and Farmfoods in a small shopping mall. Not sure about Blantyre 2. Paisley a supermarket -
Seems unlikely as the BSPL stats page for the Tigers updated to include Saturdays results does not include him.

See what you mean. Jack Smith may have been a different case as I dont think he had a 2023 Championship average.
-
Don't think it works that way as guest appearances dont count in the averages. They didn't for Jack Smith.
-
Who did your team get and what are your memories of them. Some I remember in https://classicspeedwaymemories.webador.co.uk/august-2024/the-swedish-invasion-of-1967

The point sckocjasid was making was if the ref excluded Baek, Glasgow have 2 more points.
-
Point of information - if Baek had been excluded in heat 5 instead of Smith , the 3-3 would have become a Glasgow 4-2 so Glasgow would have ONE extra point not two.
-
What makes you say that?

It looks like the truly bizarre agreement to ride at Plymouth the night after Armadale is coming back to bite us big time. Whyever did we agree to this. Weren't there enough free Saturdays or even a Tuesday. Interestingly Edinburgh got a Tuesday in Devon. Really poor by our management.

Nothing to do with 2025. 2024 averages will centre around 42 by the end of the season , something the 0.5 addition recognises.

IF we go for 2H 2A, then Edinburgh , Scunthorpe and Redcar will all have six blank Fridays where they are away to fellow Friday nighters, enough for them to stage their NDL fixtures. QED.
-
Clubs didn't get "decent HLs" this year when the limit was 38 so why should it work next year. Teams keep their top men, bring in 2.00 riders and the middle order get squeezed out. If you want a more equitable distribution of Heat Leaders, you need to legislate for it ie only 2 riders with an average of more than 7.50.
-
There were surely enough blank Saturdays when the fixtures were being draw up to allow Workington to race Berwick on a Saturday. Having seniority should only apply to the meetings on the fixture list NOT restagings unless both teams agree.
-
All four Friday clubs had reserved dates spread throughout their fixture list but none seem to have been co-ordinated and, with a preponderance of meetings against fellow Friday nighters being postponed, very few have been used resulting in the current fixture chaos. Thrown in the fact that three of the four have an NDL side and look to run them on Fridays too and you've got the perfect storm. Controversial idea but how about making Friday an NDL free race night. Would think Rob Godfrey would agree after all didn't he get Workington to move off Fridays about six years ago
-
And was Scott Nicholls only prepared to guest for us as he's at Berwick tomorrow with Oxford? Hopefully Steve Worrall will be back for the restaging.
-
As teams averages will rise from 38 at the start of the season to one close to 42 at the end of it, most/all riders should be expected to raise their starting average by about 10% without actually improving their under lying performance. A starting average of 6.5 would need a season end average of over 7.00 (7.15) just to stand still.

Baek is Danish. Say no more!

Why ? Assets have little or no resale value.

It is the case. Peter Facenna asked for volunteers to run an in house stream. -

Isn't it the case that Glasgow would have considered an in house stream, as opposed to the bought in one used immediately after lockdown, if there were volunteers to run it? None came forward and the idea dropped. -
Well we certainly accepted it. Surely there must have been another Saturday or Tuesday come to that and yes I know Bomber rides in Sweden on some Tuesdays. Or should we have tried to change the Armadale date instead?

Might be an issue for the Tigers when they ride at Plymouth, the night after being at Armadale in early August.
