Agree with this assessment. He seems a quiet guy and is struggling, just like Ashton Boughen, another quiet young guy. We need a different managerial approach on occasions like this.

Does the 75% rule apply to Rider Replacement ? This would reduce Dans figure to about 6.6 or thereabouts, meaning Sedgmen's average would be too high to take a RR ride. Haven't worked out exact figures but the principle applies whether tonight or later in the season.

Might be wrong but I don't believe CB gets to make these kind of calls. Someone described him as the Meeting Manager and that's possibly the most accurate description of his role. As for SD, that ship has long sailed.

A lot of pressure on the reserves. A successful team needs riders to improve their averages. Chris and Kyle are unlikely to but Leon certainly will converting BPs for finishing behind Dan T into actuals. KJP looks likely too but will run up BPs - 5+3 is a good score but it's still only 5 points. Mario is likely to be a project, so we really need Freddy and Sam to score well and Cami needs to be decisive in splitting their rides into five and three when necessary.

Morris is a good choice of guest for Leon on Friday and possibly Jason Edwards for the away leg. However cover for Mario seems more problematic. Have we really listed KJP as the higher of our two 5.00 riders? It's a very poor call if we have, meaning the RR rides are taken by KJP with the reserves sharing the other three. Guests are very limited as there are surprisingly few in the 4+ category particularly on Friday when Redcar (Pijper, Mulford and Scott) are already riding, leaving Simon Lambert and Kyle Newman as options, not great.

Good question! There doesn't seem to be another Cooper Rushen on the horizon so I guess it's "stick" rather than "twist". Freddy had a whole season at Berwick in 2024 as there was no answer then either. Really 2026 is a make or break year for him and Sam Hagon too. As there are no obvious replacements, by implication the same is true for Tigers season. Interesting times!

I'm sure he'll have had practice laps around Ashfield , unlike his Armadale debut and will put up a better performance. Will he like Berwick, a big fast track surely something he's used to, though Marcin Nowak was spooked on his first visit there.

Dan has now got Polish commitments and will miss some Saturdays, last Saturday being an example, so while he may well outscore Chris, Glasgow have made the right long term decision.

Are Berwick required to offer Edinburgh three dates in the next 28 days for a restaging. After next Saturday,their next three Saturdays are Glasgow (BSN) at home and Workington home and away in the KO Cup. Similarly Edinburgh and a date for the restaging at Armadale.

No longer getting BPs behind Dan Thompson this year should boost his Green Sheet figure - last year his CMA was 8.00 which included BPs.

While it seems a sensible approach, will there be too many unknowns. Will Northampton and perhaps Ipswich be successful enough this year to continue in a Premiership level league? Will Sheffield be up for sale or sold. If the latter will the new owners opt to stay I the top tier or want to drop down. Similarly which league will Leicester want? The rider talks could turn everything on its head if they opt out of racing in Britain if terms aren't to their liking. Really we can't let them hold us to ransom, even if it means going to one league and a "ground zero" approach. These guys may have to face the reality of British Speedways being part time and think about getting a day job. How many work during the close season? Not to many I'd guess. Something has to change!

Sadly no. Teams seem to make random selections. While most have reserved a date for the BSN Final, less thought seems to have gone in to a date for the semis. Glasgow don't seem to have nominated a semifinal date but June 12 looks to be the only free Friday and Edinburgh, Scunthorpe, Redcar and Plymouth are all racing that night so you've got to hope they don't get any of them - they can't get Edinburgh as they are in the same section - new rule for this year. Scunthorpe curiously show June 5 for the BSN semi, the same night as the SGP in Manchester. Not sure any team would agree to that one.
