The things he did with the tractor! Like taking the fence down " accidentally" when a Tiger was struggling with his bike in the pits or changing the track by taking it through the big puddle on the centre green .

Where are they based? Though Dan's GSA is 7.55 and if the points limit is 38, perish the thought, that along with Chris takes care of nearly 17 points and could leave us with a team structure just like this year.

It's an unfair to be asked this question. In the distant past riders would say they wanted to come back at the last meeting but ask for a move shortly after. Glasgow seem to make their plans before the season ends. May be he doesn't want to come back, may be he's been told he's not, may be he hasn't decided. May be.

The wet night in 1965 when unknown Bernie Lagrosse headed home Ivan Mauger in a second half heat, though his Kiwi pal got the better of him in the trophy final. We went home thinking we had a star in the making. Sadly he failed to score in a handful of meetings for us, though he was part of the Tigers party for whom the Supporters Club paid for a trip to Germany to watch the World Team Cup. Later rode as Roy Williams at Berwick 1968-70. A couple of races where the time was given as 90.0 - the KO Cup semi final v West Ham when Sverre Harrfeldt was the only finisher and slowed to walking pace coming out of the fourth bend, taking off his goggles. He got the appropriate response from the crowd. The other in meeting against Cradley in 1966 shen a mid race cloudburst of biblical proportions caused the riders to slow dramatically. It went on for about 15 minutes during which we all had to shelter. This was Cradleys fourth attempt to race in Scotland that year and although the 36-29 scoreline wasn't decisive- two 5-1s woukd have given the Heathens the match- it was agreed the score shoud stand. This was the last meeting of the season and Trevor Redmond and Maury Mattingley manfully stood in the rain singing a farewell to the crowd. For Trevor it would be his last as Tigers promoter, selling his interest to Danny Taylor that winter.

Presumably he would have made it if Glasgow were riding there that night! -

Jack Smith wasn't at the races but gets four heats while a more impressive James Pearson Only gets three. CB strikes again! -
If it's 39 it's a reduction not an increase. Teams were built to 38 at the start of the season but their figures increase to centre around 42. Look at the latest green sheets to see this. This happens every year no matter what the start of season team build figure was.

Monarchs v Scorpions BSN 1st leg
Beirao replied to scunny1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
June 7 when Redcars NDL meeting v Belle Vue blocked off Glasgow from restaging tier rained off meeting with the senior Redcar side. Doubtlessly others. Will Monarchs travel to Scunthorpe for the BSN Semi second leg on Sept 13, the same night as they have an NDL double header at Armadale or does seniority apply to this too? -
Monarchs v Scorpions BSN 1st leg
Beirao replied to scunny1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Seniority should only be applied to the first running of the fixture, with any restagings taking place on an alternative race night and the Championship is surely senior to the NDL. Right now the NDL tail is wagging the Championship dog. -

Only if teams agree to use their alternative race nights when racing fellow Friday nighters AND NDL fixtures are staged on their own separate nights and don't block Championship meetings. -
Maciej Jankowski's controversial elimination from the Cardiff GP semi final reminds me of the 1963 PLRC at Belle Vue When five riders tied on nine points but only two places in the final remained open to them. What was the first decision to split them - heat wins? Fastest times? Whatever it was it provoked a sit down strike and ultimately a five man run off was ordered. May be this should have been done at Cardiff.

Unless he scores far better against Redcar, he'll be at reserve for our meeting at Armadale on Sept 6.
-
Doesn't he get a real average a few days after completing his sixth meeting so that will be some point in early September by which time we may well still have meetings to race - at Edinburgh perhaps the way things are going ...or not going!
-
I wondered about that. Hook and Liebmann never dropped below their assessed 4.00 figures though their "actuals" were less. However Birminghams foreigners all got real figures after the prescribed number of meetings.

He has indeed. Looking back, he had to be aTarasenko type signing just to break even. We used 8.00 on him and Garrad, and with Garrad unlikely to score many points, he needed to average 7.50+ just to stay pat. Right now he's on 4,00 and after tonight could end up being a reserve in the next Green Sheets. Ironically Starke is averaging slightly more for Workington.
