  1. Ignoring the play off semi final at the end of 2022 this is usually a close run affair. Master, Worrall and Douglas all know the fastest way around Owlerton and if it’s on the slick side then Schlein will be up there too, Becker always been a bit hit and miss but an easily get 5-7 points. Think it’s Cook’s first time in track so will take a ride or two to get dialled in but he’s seen the place plenty of time when spannering for Holder in early 2022. Flint can pop out and liking the bigger track isn’t scared of using the high dirt line. As for the home side, Musielak and Holder are usually good for 10+ points each, a lot will depend on Ellis and Bellego as both have been pretty poor so far (exception being the Lynn whipping 2 weeks ago) Ellis has looked slow even if he pops out of the start he’s always looking behind so must feel the lack of speed and Bellego has ridden very hesitant so far like a mix of Batchelor and Craig Cook when not committing to tough first bends etc, Kerr has rode very consistently all season and similar to when he was at reserve there’s the added bonus of having Howarth down there who again can get 4-7 rides depending on others performance, Gilkes has picked up good points and learning every race I’ll go for a home win, not an annihilation like the home match last time out v King’s Lynn but something around 50-40 mark
  2. That team needs ripping apart, Howarth and Worrall were never going to score at home like they did for Leicester last year the track isn’t conducive for them if they miss the gate. The two reserves sink on the away tracks, OK they might nick a win at home if they pop out again showing it’s a gaters paradise. They really need to drop one of the big heat leaders and possibly Turner and bring something like Batchelor/Dan Thompson or Dillon Ruml as that would enable them to have a decent third heat leader and a lot stronger reserve and be more competitive especially away
  3. An away win for BV 40-50, definitely needs the Lynn engine room to turn up if they have any chance of keeping this one close.
  4. Lemon must be playing the long game, which he can afford too is suppose with results so far, unfortunately for Lynn and P’Boro they need the fix now which is a lot more difficult a position especially for Brady having already played one trump card costing him £5k a meeting that’s not changed much when you have a team full of 6 pointers around Laguta who are expected to score 7-10 points which won’t happen weekly
  5. Looking at their results does he need to replace Mulford or are the other 6 taking the weight and Lemon is letting him get the experience? He might have already seen what some of the available rising stars have to offer and not fancy then, he’s had Bailey as a #8 before and more than likely seen Kemp’s sulks and tantrums, Rowe’s distaste for British Speedway, Smith’s stagnation, etc plus when watching the Colts he’ll have a better understanding of the Rising Stars out there and what they give around NSS etc .
  6. Brady unfortunately built the team around riders who are his ‘mates’ and that wins you nothing, hopefully he’s beginning to see that. You’ve got to have a ruthless streak when the team is struggling to cull riders (providing there’s replacements out there of course), can’t imagine Mark Lemon or Damien Bates not doing what’s best for the club and move riders on who aren’t performing being mates with them or not. Speedway is and always has been a numbers game and that’s it
  7. If he ain’t first he’s last, standard Klindt score from five rides 3,0,0,3,0 he always seems to be the same when I’ve seen him ride. He’s not a 8 point heat leader like Museliak, Holder, Kurtz etc he’s more in the Ellis, Morris, Douglas area
  8. Hope Laguta isn’t expecting the flat slick track like he’s used to over in Poland, that’s if Busty is allowed out with his toys! It will be closer than the last Sheffield visit where they dominated from Ht1, if the 6 Sheffield riders all ride the track like they have done in previous visits can see Sheffield running out winners again 42-48, Thomson v Howarth and Kerr v Jorgensen are the two key battles
  9. Have Peterborough actually announced Tarasenko yet? His TV interview at the Grudziadz meeting plus the Polish sites (Sportowefakty etc) have already mentioned him being in the Panthers line up, but I can’t remember seeing a press release. If they don’t announce another incoming rider with him it’s a bit after the horse has bolted
  10. Harris was going to miss the original date this was in for, so would have needed a guest for him then anyway, so no real change other than who’d be available to guest at that point with fixtures/averages etc
  11. Just a side note to the meeting, looked really a bit shoddy and unprofessional Douglas not being provided with a Kings Lynn race jacket or shirt as a guest, just a duct taped number 5 in his back
  12. Well looks like you won’t be seeing Kasperzak just going through the motions again in Stars kevlars
  13. BWD on an artificially high average from pre covid, be better off with someone who Sheffield could get as an asset, likes of Lyager, Krakowiak for Bellego. As for Ellis he’s become part of the furniture with the links in the club, needs to pull his finger out though as been shocking this year
  14. 7 weeks yes that’s 7 weeks since the Tigers last home meeting, going to be like starting the season again with not much idea of how the track will react (stocks have been on the track a few times since last meeting). For Sheffield you know what you’re generally getting from Holder and Museliak around Owlerton in points and excitement, Howarth has been scoring well bar the blip at Leicester on Monday and sure he’ll be back to his all action full commitment riding, Ellis is a concern as not getting out of the starts, looks slow when he does get out being passed on a few occasions in the two previous home meetings when having a decent lead and this has been the case since start of last season, then there’s Bellego, can score power points at home but does that outweigh his absolutely abysmal away form? The two boys down at reserve won’t have it easy, Gilkes v Edwards should be just as good as Kerr v Pickering, with Kerr as always wanting to put on a show against his previous employers As for Lynn, Klindt can fly around Owlerton but could also go 3,0,3,0,0, Kasperzak was atrocious on his previous visit so surely he can’t be that bad again, Jorgensen and Palm-Toft both know the fastest way around there too (one usually high and wide and the other kerb crawling), then there’s Jakobsen when at reserve on his last visits he never pulled up any trees, could just be Owlerton shape just isn’t for him (like Bellego and rest of UK tracks!!), a lot of pressure could be on Pickering with 6/7 rides if the main body don’t perform which will be tough on his body after his injury break Result? Think that will be a Sheffield win but not by as bigger margin as it was in the KO Cup in early April, 51-39
  15. More than likely can’t risk Bellego in Ht8 away from home with it being protected, at least at 4 or 3 you can replace him in Ht10, Ht12 or Ht14 with a stronger reserve
  16. The update on that will be announced shortly, but with three missing and Wednesday v Barnsley on same day at Wembley I think you can see what the outcome will be
  17. Surely after another abysmal away performance from Bellego he’s got to get the boot, even bringing Mountain back and moving Kerr into main body would be a better solution. Next one with head on the chopping block has to be Ellis, he’s dropped 3 points off his average in since start of last season, spread himself too thinly riding in 3 leagues plus GB commitments and SEC/SGP qualifiers etc and following Bewley everywhere. Know heat leaders are hard to come by but need that engine room/3rd heat leader need replacing before their averages plummet even more leaving no room for manoeuvre
  18. Laguta in KK out was what I was told, not sure if a second change is needed from an averages perspective or if come 1st June with new averages it’s one in one out
  19. From what I heard at Wolves tonight the Stars fans are going to be very happy with the incoming team change
  20. Mulford currently giving too much away at the starts, if he can get out with the other 3 riders he’ll be up there in the points, that was seen at Owlerton for Belle Vue when he popped out in Ht8 and comfortably won from Bellego, Gilkes and Blodorn, yet when I’ve seen him on BSN he’s giving the other 3 riders at least half a bike at the start
  21. Don’t think Musielak , Holder or Bellego will have done many laps around Leicester so they’ll need to be on the front foot so to not allow a solid Leicester team to get early momentum. Think the key rider for Sheffield will be Kyle Howarth, knows the quickest way around the track after a couple of years there so a lot will depend on how fit he is after recent knocks and as for Leicester Fricke Morris and Lawson will need to be in the top of their game if the Sheffieod heat leaders get dialled in. If Allen and Thompson get the drop over Allen and Gilkes in the scoring that could turn the result in their favour
  22. Surprised Peterborough not gone down the younger TM route like Sheffield done with Steady and brought in Allen, the ‘old boys’ have past their prime time surely some new blood in that area will help also
  23. Was there any news on Howarth? Know he was withdrawn after ht1 fall but did it say what the injury was??
