Belle Vue -V Sheffield POSFs
InTheDeepStuff replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Someone’s after a freebie -
In their 12 home League fixtures Sheffield have scored 619 points so averaging 51.58 points per meeting. The 2 league meetings v Belle Vue scored 110 points averaging 55 points per meeting so it’s definitely an achievable target to get the 52 points needed to go through to the Grand Final

A lot of fast close races but very little passing, standard for NSS, people get excited about close finishes when riders in front rolling off

Impressed with Voulas last night rode inside and out, definitely a different level to the Sheffield reserves. Lidsey came to the party at the later end of the meeting which massively helped Belle Vue gain the 12 points. Going to be all on on Thursday for Sheffield to get the 12+ points back, this one should go down to the wire! -

It might be courteous to raise a finger or whatever after a race but it isn’t mandated. Waiting for everyone to go to work and congratulate their colleagues or staff from other companies for doing their day job. -

Chris Harris confirmed as guesting for Sheffield in both legs of the play off semi final -
Cairns was asked last night at Owlerton about his 2025 plans and he said it wouldn’t include Rising Star as needs more experience, he’s concentrating on a team spot in Championship once 16 and see what opens up in Poland after that.

Assuming that Sheffield will run a guest rather than risk R/R? There’s not a lot of choice Harris good around Owlerton but NSS not his greatest, not a lot out there to choose from, unless Lublin loose in Polish play off’s and that free’s up Lindgren to ride both meetings -

Imagine if they did Bewley would be in breach of his Wrocław contract and have to pay back signing on fee as a minimum, that would be the end of him riding in UK as that will be ridiculous money to pay back and more than likely end any sort of future agreements with PZM/Ekstraliga and that’ll damage UK more than Poland -
Can see Woffinden at Oxford next season, gives them an out and out number 1 and each time he’s been he’s mentioned liking the set up of the place and the track.

Personally like to see something like this for Sheffield’s 2025 team based on 40 points and Edwards being allowed back as a RS, oh and Polands Ekstraliga 2 Thursday TV matches being worked into British calendar to allow riders to race here: 1. Jack Holder 8.85 2. Kyle Howarth (5.18) 5.05 2.5% reduction 3. Josh Pickering 6.74 4. Chris Harris (6.22) 6.07 2.5% reduction 5. Chris Holder 8.79 6. Anders Rowe (5.21) 3.91 25% reduction 7. Jason Edwards (RS) Total - 39.41

Sheffield vs Ipswich 2024 Cup Final Sept 2nd
InTheDeepStuff replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Meeting changed after the heat 6 gate swing where Sheffield got a run of the more favourable 1 & 3 that Ipswich had early doors. Ipswich defo put the pressure on, but the meeting sort of evened out after that. Following a stinker at Owlerton on Monday and bike failure in Ht1 I think Howarth had a massive night after that and that’s gone a bit unnoticed with focus being on points Pickering and Ch Holder scored -

Brennan scored a paid max (10+2) when guesting for Sheffield earlier in the season, was against a depleted King’s Lynn though -

Can Sheffield break their Foxhall hoodoo? Possibly a first away win on the cards since winning the Championship there in 2017? 43-37 to Sheffield -
Sheffield v Ipswich 8th August
InTheDeepStuff replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think that the Sheffield track man should get another pair of eyes to give some impartial advice on what to do with the track as in its current state of a lot of powdery material it’s a) it’s becoming dangerous when it gets piled up high virtually stopping riders in their tracks on more than one occasion and b) it makes the track ‘gate and go’ or ‘follow the leader’ as riders using the only line up high. Maybe someone like Meredith from Belle Vue or even Phil Morris coming in giving his view having been involved in track prep in the world stage. -

Hook was unlucky not to score more last week for Plymouth at Scunny, him and Thompson were the only ones challenging the home riders -

MPT is a one track pony, inside line at EWR and that’s it.
