  1. From what I’ve heard tonight very much doubt if Musielak will be bask in King’s Lynn colours this season. Seemingly not impressed with the way things are being run compared to his previous UK experiences with Wolverhampton, Swindon and Sheffield. If this turns out to be true then feel for the Stars fans as he’s a helluva entertaining rider and puts the team in a right mess with already needing a full time replacement for Klindt
  2. Another dominant home win for Sheffield. We all know the Sheffield team has been built to carry the reserves with a firing 1-5, the cause for concern is Pickering, since returning from injury his form has dropped off and his average is going the same way (Woffinden not called him out yet though) where as Howarth on the up with his average with BP’s nudging ahead of Pickering now. Pickering’s gating has hit worse and seems to have no speed to get past opponents home or away and his spat with Gilkes tonight was just childish due to poor gate and no speed. I’d personally swap him and Howarth around for a few meetings to give him the number 2 berth, gives him the supposedly easier Ht8 with 2 rising stars and removes the pressure race if Ht14 if a close one.
  3. He’s not ridden in Poland for Rybnik since ‘pulling out’ of an already won meeting in ht15 as they’ve not had a meeting. Their next meeting is this weekend that’s what Lemon stated 1st July as comeback date
  4. Sheffield to win on the night 52-38 and just get through on aggregate. The big 3 of Holder bros and Woffinden have been great around Owlerton this year and could get low to mid 30’s between them, Pickering and Howarth to get something like 6-8 each and Edwards and Gilles to pick up around a dozen between them. For Lynn to have any chance Wojdylo needs to have a stormer with no tac sub available he could have 7 rides, Basso and Lawson generally do well around there, Cook usually 5 or 6 points on his visits, NKI was poor last time at Owlerton, Rowe hit and miss but has popped out for the odd win, Kvech is the unknown you’d think the Eastern Europeans would like Owlerton but not always the case with it not being as smooth as what they are used too, he could do a KK from last season and fail to do anything or be like Musielak who loves it around there
  5. Can’t as Zack Cook’s average is higher than Mountain’s and BV have no points to play with
  6. Leicester’s gamble with Cook definitely hasn’t worked out, easy to say should have kept Kemp but you’d think Dickson will be on the look out to replace at least one if not two of the Lions current 1-7
  7. Kurtz was pulled out of Ht15 after doing 4 rides. Meeting points were sewn up and was an opportunity to give the Rybnik reserves or number 8/16 a (extra) ride in the meeting. Don’t people try the he pulled out of his last ride like it meant something, simply Rybnik pulling Kurtz’s strings. If SCB have any consistency he should get 28 days UK ban
  8. Kurtz took his 4 rides for Rybnik at the weekend, he was replaced by a reserve in Ht15 when result was over and league and bonus point won, lots of teams do that in Poland to give a Number 8/16 a ride (or extra ride) when nothing wrong with the rider at all, Lublin done it a few times with Zmarzlik already this season. We all know it’s Rybnik pulling Kurtz’s strings so he doesn’t go against his contract over there and loose out financially (can you blame him with what he get there to UK?), he’ll ride when Rybnik want him to do simple as with Sweden and UK just taking it. Until a each and every rider gets a ban for such things then UK will still remain a mockery of a league
  9. Surely Kurtz gets 28 day ban from after the meeting tomorrow? Imagine we’ll see an update on the SCB website on Friday morning advising of that. As for the meeting going for a Sheffield win, again close as expect Mountain to outscore the Sheffield reserves comfortably, something around the 48-42 scoreline
  10. Jason Edwards got a paid 15 point max there for Redcar not too many weeks back, he’d definitely be one to get as a guest
  11. Good win for an injury hit Ipswich side even if Sayfutdinov had a bit of a mare for his high standards the rest of the team did what was needed. The positive for Sheffield out of this was number of race wins, just need to work on packing out the minor positions when at Foxhall again
  12. Must be something behind the scenes with Musielak as was riding for Sheffield as soon as any injuries allowed in 2022 and 2023 even before riding for his Polish teams. No doubt all will come out eventually but it’s a shame for Lynn fans as he’s a great watch
  13. The Ekstraliga teams put the pressure on, where as the newly names Ekstraliga 2 teams tend to let their riders get in with riding in whatever countries they want to. Sheffield never had any issues with Ostrow or Krosno recalling Musielak was riding for them as plenty of times he was scoring more in UK than in Poland
  14. Problem is with the Bend 2 lot is they get thumbs up from whoever does the Sheffield press releases, be that quotes from Simon Stead, Peter Mole etc so they’ll continue to be annoying, whereas the Tigers on Tours (some of which are over 300 consecutive matches) get little if any recognition now, not that that will stop them attending supporting their club. Anyway on to tonight’s match, with the Sheffield team built with riders who let’s just say generally struggle around Foxhall I can only see an easy Ipswich win especially with two solid guests in. Nicholls and Harris to back up Sayfutdinov (if 2023 Emil turns up then god help us!), all there at the top of the score chart . Ellis will be out to show the Sheffield promotion what he’s capable of and with Thompson, Rew and Jenkins all capable of good scores so Ipswich should reach 50+ points no problem. As for Sheffield I’m struggling to see anyone in double figures, J. Holder maybe up there if he gets six rides with Tac Sub ride as well as Ht15, C. Holder and Woffinden both rarely trouble anyone when missing the gate especially away from home on the more technical tracks, Pickering and Howarth both like to attack but never seem to get much on the board at Foxhall 5-6 points at best, Edwards could get a few if he gates as can be quick in front, Gilkes can only see zero from him, his time has to be up as the Sheffield Rising Star but that’s another subject. So going for 56-34 to Ipswich, might seem a bit optimistic from an Ipswich perspective but having watched Sheffield fail to get going prior to Ht8 at both Oxford and Birmingham, then unable to get out of the gate at King’s Lynn last week it could be achievable
  15. Medical note will end on Wednesday so he’ll be fine after his ‘knock’ cough cough
  16. You’d think that there will need to be a couple of changes to the announced line ups, two on the Sheffield side and one the Rest of the World select based on riders injuries at the moment, Schlein out for season, Etheridge missed Friday at Scunthorpe and King missed British Final and also Monday (10th) for Ipswich. Hopefully Kyle and the team behind the testimonial manage to source the riders needed to fill the gaps Sheffield : Chris Harris, Kyle Howarth, Rory Schlein, Jye Etheridge, Josh Pickering, Jason Edwards, Dan Gilkes Rest of the World Select: Ryan Douglas, Norick Blodorn, Danny King, Charles Wright, Sam Masters, Jake Allen, Simon Lambert
  17. A few of them seem to be Bradford lads so might have just started coming once Sheffield came back into the top league as can’t remember them pre 2019 when last in Championship, hopefully at some point the stupid chanting dies down as eventually it will give the club a bad name, whereas the Tigers on Tour guys are really sound and knowledgeable fans, I’ve stood with the likes of Chris and Dave on away trips previously who just support the team
  18. I go to Sheffield regular and to be honest the ‘Bend 2 Barmy Army’ do go too far on many occasion with their football style chanting (which no sense a lot of the time) and that can upset some people especially if the language is a bit ‘industrial’, a bit of light hearted banter between fans is fine, hopefully the few bad eggs and any track don’t put fans travelling to these tracks
  19. The lack of team spirit between Wright and Brennan was a massive factor in them Both not being given a team spot in 2024, on more than one occasion they had to be separated in the pits and also on track antics after races didn’t please Lemon.
  20. Lawson rode in 4 races last night, didn’t have any sort of crash/off, looked like he managed to create a ‘limp’ at end of meeting and got note from track doctor, all very dubious and stinks of cantbearseditus.
  21. Flint stagnating at best (similar to Gilkes), if he wasn’t a Rising Star he wouldn’t be near a Premiership team, whereas the likes of Hagon, Boughen, D Thompson look like they are moving forward
  22. Woffinden looked to be going through the motions again on another away track tonight, he’s definitely getting a ‘gating tart’ name for himself. Wonder if he’ll call himself out for under performing?
  23. http://www.sheffield-speedway.com/news.php?extend.3514 SHEFFIELD skipper Kyle Howarth has confirmed the line-ups for his testimonial which takes place at Owlerton next Wednesday (June 12, 7.30pm).A Tigers side will take on a Rest of the World Select over a traditional 15 heat format.Regular Sheffield riders Josh Pickering, Jason Edwards and Dan Gilkes will line-up alongside Howarth.Meanwhile, Chris Harris and Jye Etheridge, who both guested for the Tigers in their Grand Final triumph over Ipswich last October, will race for the hosts alongside Rory Schlein who appeared for the Prowlers earlier in his career. The Rest of the World side features former German National Champion Norick Blodorn as well as Leicester’s Ryan Douglas and Sam Masters.Gates open at 6pm with admission £23 adults, £21 concessions, £1 kids (up to and including age 17), whilst all under-5s go free.SHEFFIELD: Chris Harris, Kyle Howarth, Rory Schlein, Jye Etheridge, Josh Pickering, Jason Edwards, Dan Gilkes.REST OF THE WORLD SELECT: Ryan Douglas, Norick Blodorn, Danny King, Charles Wright, Sam Masters, Jake Allen, Simon Lambert.
