Kings Lynn v Sheffield 6/6
InTheDeepStuff replied to Manifesto's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That’s why I think he should be at number 2 for this one. Can see him pulling out after a couple especially if track is grippy -
Zach Cook could end up at a few clubs, Leicester for Becker or Cook as neither pulling up any trees, Oxford for Kerr whose clearly nowhere near fit, Ipswich for Ellis where no timeline on his comeback. End of day speedway in last 20 years has been a ‘numbers game’ and he’s fallen foul of it, he won’t be the last this year either

Kings Lynn v Sheffield 6/6

Sheffield need to put Pickering at number 2 for this one can’t see how he’s fit it only out for 2 weeks yet missed 9 weeks with similar injury last season. Howarth more than capable at number 4 -
Any news on how long MPT will be out for and if Scunthorpe will need to be on the look out for a (temporary) replacement or if they’ll run the R/R route with Kyle Howarth, Jake Allen, Simon Lambert and Connor Mountain the riders who you’d expect to cover that?

Freddy Hodder now for Dan Thompson, looks like the cloudy Rising Star rules bite again -

Yes but he’s out so who is the Rising Star replacing him or one in main body does that go out if the window? If so massive loophole to be able to ride without a Rising Star -

Did Danny King have a post meeting spin? -
Was told yesterday that Bewley has a broken bone in his foot from his crash in the last SGP, he’s been riding through it which is good for Belle Vue especially with Brady Kurtz injury. Have a feeling we won’t see Kurtz again in Belle Vue kevlars until after the SGP Challenge unless he has an op at that point and it’s another riders season over early

Good win for Sheffield tonight, wonder how long they’ll continue with Gilkes though, looks to be going backwards week on week now? When Mulford replaced him last week looked better out of the starts and rode differing line when trying from behind, whereas Gilkes seems to ride same line each lap no matter what position he is in track. Can’t afford to be carrying in the Rising Star especially with Jason Edwards also on the learning curve -

Birmingham will have agreed this date at start of season when the Polish fixtures also available on international calendar, Sheffield ran last week without their number 1 (Jack Holder), middle order rider (Josh Pickering) and reserve Rising Star (Dan Gilkes) but paid for two guests and ran R/R for Jack Holder as gave them better option than the guests available, so no excuse blaming having two riders out when there’s three teams not riding and plenty of Championship unattached riders to choose from -
With both Pawlicki and Lampart riding in the IMP in Poland on Thursday neither have a chance to put a stake in the sand to cement their team spot at Sheffield, so if it’s one of those going why not just announce it now and take the uncertainty away from the remaining riders letting them get on with their jobs. OK they might want them to raise their game to show what they can do but the added pressure can also make them in effect try too hard and under perform. This is of course if the rider(s) impacted don’t already know what the crack is

Looking at guests Pawlicki on 7.50 so choices limited and no out and out number ones on or around such an average, possibly Harris, Tungate, Basso or Iversen, as for Lampart there’s not a lot of scope either in the Premiership so expect they’ll get someone who currently rides in Championship best option Etheridge, with others like Thomson, Castagna, Lambert available -
Wouldn’t you just take out the rider with the lowest average allowed to bring in Lindgren and make the team as strong as possible?

Ipswich v Leicester KOC 30th May
InTheDeepStuff replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He’s not allowed to ride for 15 days from the date Grudziadz used ZZ or R/R in UK terms, so that rules him out riding anywhere until after 8th June be that Poland, UK, Denmark or World Championship events -

So I’m assuming guest choices from Belle Vue, Oxford and King’s Lynn for those two if it’s an official PZM meeting -
So the axe remains over one of the current Brummies 1-6 with Lindgren on his way next week, will we see any of the Brummies step up to the plate at Owlerton to secure their team spot, or has the Brummies management already made their decision no matter what happens in this one. Sheffield will be hoping to build on last Thursday’s home win against Leicester and Mondays at Belle Vue, where on both occasions the heat leaders, engine room and reserves scored well. Can only see them doing the same in this one as well securing a decent home win and bonus point. Imagine that Sheffield will use a guest again for Pickering (believe it will be Schlein again) and possibly the same riding order with Howarth at 4 instead of 2. For the Brummies Pawlicki’s and Lampart’s first rides here and judging by all the other Poles (Musielak the exception to the rule) they generally struggle at Owlerton, Worrall has generally been good at number 2 for both Wolves and Belle Vue around here getting a decent hauls, Brennan hit and miss around Owlerton over the years but on good form at the moment, Sedgmen knows his way around after wearing the Sheffield kevlars on more than one stint, Cook and Flint join the Owlerton hit and miss brigade although Flint at reserve could be key if he has gating gloves on with his liking if the wide lines. Going for a comfortable home win of 54-36 with at least one of the a Sheffield team unbeaten by an opponent

Blamed the postponement squarely at the foot of the Chief Medical Officer rather than the usual agreement of captains and managers. Just a mardy arse comment that’s not shed a good light on him

Wow, thought Dickson would have learned from previous seasons re Cook. He’s had one good meeting for Oxford at Sheffield (dodgy filters and all), next thing he’ll be signing Batchelor -

The BV riders will have been briefed by Lemon on what to say re the track conditions in the presser, he doesn’t want his riders making him look anymore foolish than he made himself today
-
After the ht10 deluge there was no way that it should have taken that long to call it. BV were struggling out of the traps and needed something like 20+ points from 5 races to win which wasn’t going happen. Should have been called there and then rather than treat the paying fans with contempt. Lemon should have admitted defeat and put it to bed when it was obvious to all what was going to happen, as now Belle Vue haven’t come out of today looking good at all from both people who paid on the gate and those reading the online/social media comments
-
Suns out but now at NSS, not seen the track yet but if this continues (but if wind would help) then should be all systems go
-
Aces to win this by 8 49-41, the difference will be the reserves, can only see Edwards and Gilkes scoring 2 or 3 max from their combined 8 rides (7 if Sheffield need to use a tac sub), whereas Mountain and Bailey will get double digits from their rides. Blodorn usually outscores Howarth at number 2, the J Holder/Woffinden v Kurtz/Bewley combos will equal themselves out through the meeting, Lidsey v C Holder and Cook v Brennan close points wise also, can see it going deep into the meeting
