Oxford v Glasgow - Play Offs - 13 Sept
Colinspeedway replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thoroughly enjoyed tonight's meeting. I expected it to be closer and considering there were only 2 points in it at one stage it's a good margin for Oxford to take and compete for the bonus at Glasgow. Vissing R/R got 5 which is about right so you have to look at the reserves and Brennan although having said that he did have to work hard for the points he scored! On a more serious note hope whoever had the medical issue in the pits is ok! -

Oxford charge Premiership prices wonder if they'll increase the ticket price if they go up?

Completely separate to the local plan. An application rather than a designation. This article explains further and I think this avenue needs to be considered by Peterborough and Wolves. https://southleedslife.com/supporters-secure-elland-road-as-an-asset-of-community-value/ -
Don't see enough doughnuts. The polish celebrations after winning the world cup were great despite it been disappointing at the time for GB missing out. Still excellent to see - not enough showmen in my eyes!

Would be nice for some clarity on whether Tai/robert were asked to ride or not. Also where is Bailey? Agree it would also be nice to see Nicholls. I agree with Richie Worrall about having a 3-4 meeting series to contest this but if tonight is anything to go by the product will not exactly be the most attractive. Bewley's to lose.

Brennan was at the World Cup last night. Probably didn't have a great deal of sleep for his journey back. Give him a break -
World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
Colinspeedway replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Had a great time. Last night the racing was vastly improved from previous rounds. The atmosphere was fantastic and our lads gave it a real good go. Yes it was a shame as we nearly had it but I think second place still deserves respect. The Polish fans that we sat around were very friendly and were very interested in us. For my first time in Poland I had a great weekend and certainly will be back. The only complaint for me was the queues at the bar and the painfully slow beer tap! -

Colinspeedway replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Track not as slick as some make out. Dirt line seemed to move towards the outside as the night went on and wasn't all around the inside like previous rounds. I thought there was a couple of good races Chris Holder coming from third to first and Lindgren coming from the back to win were my favourite races of the night. The final should be much more competitive than tonight and also much larger crowd and better atmosphere. -

Used to enjoy watching "sticky" at Stoke! I thought he mainly did longtrack now not heard him mentioned in speedway for a long time! -

Oxford vs Glasgow - Champ - 19/7
Colinspeedway replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree about the atmosphere. The only slight thing/moan this season is I thought the music that is played before and inbetween races is a little sleepy and not very upbeat like other stadiums. -

Certainly is! A couple of years ago I thought he'd be going out similar to Anderson is now but he has proved me wrong and has bounced back. He certainly could do a job in the Premiership if he wasn't doing his role with Eurosport a job as he showed with Wolves when Becker was injured and how many times this season has he come from the back to give Oxford a result in heat 13/15 this year. Apologies if it has been mentioned on here but did I hear that he would be present for Oxford in the away meeting against Redcar which clashes with his Eurosport World Cup coverage? -
Witches v Panthers 20th July
Colinspeedway replied to Badge's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hope this meeting isn't a damp squib particularly with the 2 reserve changes for Peterborough. Sad JJ isn't riding as I always enjoy watching him when I've visited Oxford this year but understandable after his fall last night and I imagine the second bump didn't help. How does Connor Mountain usually do around Ipswich? I am looking forward to seeing Tarasenko for the first time. -
Survival of The Premiership?

Feel like there needs to be more effort with this. Going into schools/colleges/universities to promote (could take a bike in etc). The good thing about getting new younger children into speedway is they will have to bring a full fare paying adult with them too! -

Didn't see it being so one sided but glad they got a raceable circuit after the showers today! Was very impressed with the German Celina who did a few laps after the meeting she looked very quick!
