He goes very well around Oxford and used the inside better than most

Pickering is entertaining both on and off the track. Need more characters like him. I remember him getting the elbows out with Antti Vuolas at Belle Vue. Got the atmosphere going

Oxford, Swindon, Wolverhampton and Coventry 4TT
Colinspeedway replied to secsy1's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Was a good crowd considering the cold weather and nothing at stake. There were a few Swindon fans about (often is these days at Oxford). Saw a handful of Wolves fans too but didnt see any Coventry where I was. Killeen picked up an injury the annoucer said possible broken scaphoid but havent heard anything since. Leon Flint looked very fast all night until the final race which Edwards gated and Bomber came around the outside on the second lap. Track held up well considering and there was no dust! Wayne Broadhurst a bit off the pace of everyone else but a credit for stepping in as Peter Schroeck said they were struggling to get riders for the third staging. -

Not necessarily that straightforward for greenbelt. Still needs a strong planning justification for the site. Will it interfere with the openness of the greenbelt? What buildings/structures are being planned? -
Not bsns fault about the track. Poole is one of the worst tracks in the Championship for passing. Usually BSN are pretty clear with what matches are included in each package but I have the full package so not sure what you are referring to, but if they have made a mistake then get in touch with them? When I had an issue in the past they sorted it out swiftly.

https://oxfordspeedway.club/2025/09/preview-spires-aim-to-go-out-with-a-bang/ Did they say they were definitely not running top flight? This article said the Spires would not run but did not rule out the Cheetahs running in the top flight.

The SWC is definitely the better competition but I cant see a good reason why have they got rid of the race off!? Terrible decision -

BHM 25/08 (midday) Aces v Tigers
Colinspeedway replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Enjoyed the meeting today and they did well to keep the dust down (except for heat 15). Track is usually excellent at BV so no surprise they always do a good job. Looked a good healthy crowd and unlike other events they seem to handle it well. The only minor point is the PA was barely audible except for when they went over to the Bvtv feed. Overall a good advert for those who were there for the first time/first time in a while which there was plenty of. -

Excellent listen. A must for anybody who has an interest in retaining/bringing back speedway tracks. Reassuring to know that there are people with planning knowledge involved with these clubs. Brian really knows his stuff and sounds like he's working very hard!
-
Pay the planners and they will find planning arguments to benefit the speedway. The issue is the developers have the money to fund them. Planning policy is there for both sides and there are protections in place. Also requires councillors who know what they are voting on in committees!

I have read that they estimate 500 spectators. This could be a cause for concern on the viability of the new stadium. For those people who have proof that Swindon was previously getting a lot more spectators I would urge you to write to the planning officer Oliver Phippen with evidence and explain how Speedway is a much more viable business (supported with planning policy) in contradiction to the applicant's statement (Swindon Motorsports).
