  1. Yes - they are justifying the demand and dealing with the stupid comments made by yesterdays expert witness.
  2. That not what has been said. The main stand would be boarded up.
  3. and Belle Vue can only use the track on 34 days a year.
  4. Along with Premiership Rugby, Rugby League etc.
  5. The defence is also making both sports look amateurish because no one is able to provide spectator figures. This has come up on all three days so far. This is something that Phil Morris needs to get the Premiership Clubs to publish.
  6. So not consulted a building professional, not consulted the council about h&s. I thought yesterdays performance was poor, today's is even worse. Mr Hunter appears to be a) pulling figures out of thin air, b) cannot even be bothered to read the developers information. Why is everybody so under prepared? As a (retired) Barrister I cannot believe how under prepared the SCS people are under cross examination.
  7. If the Gentleman from Sport England has been called as an Expert Witness, then the campaign have wasted their money. Poorly prepared and clearly uncomfortable answering many direct questions. I just hope Matt Ford has time today to speak.
  8. Live speedway as a product does not work on TV, unless you are going to screen three meetings live, alternating between each venue. That way you are not having to fill dead air. Also an added benefit to those fans watching live in the stadium of not having a long drawn out meeting. The alternative is the Quest, 1 hour highlights package, where they can drop a dull race and focus on a race and some professional analysis.
  9. As a retired Barrister I have had a look through the rule book on the SCB site and cannot believe how poorly worded it is. The solution is simple rip it up. Get the BSPA brains trust together in front of a legal professional and explain to them the basic rules. They will then write a new rule book that is easy for fans to follow and does not have loopholes like this in it. It reminds me of the definition of F1 “To design a winning car that exploits the rule book, without breaking the rules”. I for one congratulate the Glasgow promotion on their savvy signing.
  10. I've caught a couple of Cubs meeting this year and Ashton has impressed me as he appears in control. The racing brain will come in time. I hope wherever he ends up he take a more medium to long term view rather than take the best financial offer. Smart move signing for Leicester in the NDL as they can make their track available for their riders during the week and not everyone has this luxury.
  11. I post this without having full sight of the rulebook, but I feel this is the more serious of the two charges.
  12. Getting back on track, I found as a retired Barrister, the most interesting part of the SCB statement was; A further charge of: * 018.2 Breach of Rules c) Any attempt to influence improperly an official in the course of their duties. was withdrawn. Draw your own conclusions...... By the sounds of this he may have been a very lucky boy to only be banned for a couple of years.
  13. I fancy some sunshine speedway after thawing out from Monday. But what do people think my chances are to make the 21:44 train back to town as I would rather not drive at night?
  14. They were the three I thought people would say. Middlo for track record, Dickson's record at Leicester for building successful teams is second only to Middlo and bothe can motivate riders and Pete Adams because of his savviness, although I do feel is can be to loyal to riders at times.
  15. Or you could secure the airfences to the fence behind them as they do at other tracks.
  16. My first time at Oxford since they came back and I picked a cracking meeting. Its also the best stadium I have been to in terms of atmosphere this season. Although I didn't notice it at the time I have watched the meeting on BSN this morning and was surprised by how much the airfence moved in the big crash. Had bikes followed riders into it their would have been major issues. Did anyone else notice this at the time?
  17. I would tend to agree, so who do you rate on that basis?
  18. Who do we think are the best Team Managers across all three division in British speedway and why?
  19. The poor decision would have been to allow NKI to race.
  20. Riders are allowed off their bike. But ignoring the Start Marshal's requests to join the other three riders at the start is delaying the start. Ignoring the flashing green light is delaying the start. The fans around me welcomed the decision. A man in a Peterborough top in ear shot remarked about bloody time, he's been doing it all season. At least the Leicester Start Marshal appears to know the rules unlike our lot.
  21. The Leicester riders had no problem overtaking. The reason there was less than on my previous visit was how uncompetitive the away team were.
  22. I enjoyed the meeting, second time at Leicestet this season & on behalf of the paying public I would like to thank Mr Jarvis for having the balls to exclude Iversen in HT15 for delaying the start. If more refs did this I'm sure riders would stop arsing around & it would give us fans one less thing to moan about
  23. Well on the 6th June he registered Straya Limited at Companies House so he would only do this if he was to have future "Business Interests" in the UK.
