  1. If your losing to that Swindon side at home by 8 then your in trouble. Watt is done at this level & I wouldn't have had Robbo back this season. Similar to Leigh Lanham last year, he's not going to be the rider he was ten years ago. Is just looking to stay out of harms way, score a few points and make a living. He's not going to put his body on the line anymore. The Branford situation is a mess. Surely as he rode at Rye last season we should get priority? If he ends up missing half the fixtures you may as well write the season off already. A lot of over the top predictions on this side before a wheel turned. Too many question marks against it. I wouldn't be confident the promotion would change the side and improve it. They didn't do it last year in the PL. Jenson & Schroeck don't seem to have much knowledge of riders. The track was a joke in the second half of last season. No dirt & way too slick. The inside half of the track bare concrete & sounds like similar on Saturday. They need to invest in some new shale. If you provide a bare track for this side you will be in trouble as there isn't a gater in the side. What with improved crowds, the last thing you want is results like Saturday. Kings Lynn could be very messy if they are in form.
  2. Decent enough meeting to start with although the track slickened off towards the end. Would have got the water cart out after heat 10 to give the riders something to work with. Massive crowd. Arrived at 6.40 & couldn't park anywhere near the stadium. Rye has always had the potential to attract these sorts of crowds if someone put their hand in their pocket, provided a good side & showed some ambition. It was going stale in the old PL, so a good decision to move up. While BMR deserve credit for the side put together(Harris & Nicholls won't be cheap) the stadium is unacceptable. They have owned the place for over a year & a half now & have done very very little. In this day & age the facilities are unacceptable. Its not a good look when newcomers walk through the gates. What are they actually going to do? The way it looks at the moment they may as well flatten everything outside of the track & start again, but it's going to be a big job. If you want to attract those crowds regularly and newcomers then you can't provide those facilities. A few annoying bits, speakers inaudible on bends 1 & 2, no programmes left, no team kevlars & dark areas(floodlights & bulbs out)all around the track & on turn 4. These are simple things to fix and should be done by the first meeting. A really good buzz about the place last night though. Sort the off track issues out & it will be looking good.
  3. We can add you to the mugs list with Chapman, Rosco, Van Twatten etc. Fingers crossed for a Polish rain off & they rearrange on a Lynn date & it costs your club.
  4. Would make the sport look even more Mickey Mouse than it is. Awful idea.
  5. If Chapman agrees with these thoughts and signs the paperwork then he is a complete mug.
  6. Won't say a lot for the authority of the chairman if he lies down and let's the Poles tickle his belly...
  7. Ford didn't like being knocked off his perch. It was clear that Coventry under Sandhu with his finances, enthusiasm and professionalism( in comparison to the other cowboy promoters) would have cleaned up for many years. Ford and the BSPA weren't having that.
  8. 100% Steve? Coventry would probably still be running if your promoter hadn't of shafted him.
  9. Bates is a bellend, bit like Garrity. Both have the intelligence of a gnat. Wouldn't want idiots like them.
  10. The Watt signing makes no sense if Robbo was returning all along. It looks a bit dads army now.
  11. Undecided on Watt. Could go either way. Wouldn't touch Schlein at all, low average but has had way too many bad injuries & had zero confidence last season. I don't want another season watching a rider poodle it round the line & back off when they get close to other riders. Had that last season in Lanham. Nothing more infuriating. Would prefer a Jorgensen, Berge, Busk Jackobsen. Young & fearless. Side looks like it could do with a bit of youth as well.
  12. Decent signing in Nicholls. Should be much more comfortable around Rye than the NSS. Strength in depth side from the quotes. Thomas Jorgensen would be a very good signing, one of the quickest visitors in the last couple of seasons.
  13. Visit Rye a lot last season did you? Another downside to moving up is having to read Starmans pearls of wisdom in the EL section.
  14. The new Rye promotion showed they had no clue last season. Dreadful side put together, stadium a bomb site & generally came across as though they had no real knowledge of the sport. Started ok with them sorting the track and getting rid of the camber on bends 1/2 & racing was very good in the 1st half of the season. Track for second half of the season resembled a motorway & they certainly never purchased any shale as there was none left towards the end of the season. Track as bald as Steve Hone. Shocked at first with the decision to move up but there is going to be minimal difference between the two leagues now. I have no real belief the current promotion will know how to put a side together & will end up like Leicester. Andreas Jonsson must be a big target what with his connections to Lakeside, no GP's and a real genuine number one. If they go with Edward at number one it will all end in tears.
  15. Lacklustre stuff. Poor crowd with no atmosphere & racing wasn't much better. Woffindens starts have been truly dreadful all season. Harris esque. Cost him any chance this year & will for the rest of his career if he doesn't sort it.
  16. Teterow is an embarrassment for the series. The new Terezano. Crap track with no facilities.
  17. Bore off Lord Bryn. What the hell has life changing injuries or worse got to do with being a referee? Do they jump down from the refs box & go and treat them? Get off your soap box.
  18. Embarrassing venue for the pinnacle of the sport.
  19. Your comparing a meeting at Lynn where there was a heavy shower bang on tapes up to a match called off 24 hours in advance where it hadn't rained for 14 hours before tapes up. Wally. Rye fans haven't piped up as the team is crap & want the season over with. Same for Workington probably. Nothing to race for. It's clear somethings gone on but it's speedway so will be swept under the carpet as usual. People defending this being off for weather are stupid or naive. Hopefully both sides make it difficult to fit in the fixture before the cut off & it eliminates them.
  20. As someone said above, piffle. Bikes not ready/set up for Coventry? Ha ha ha. Please tell me your joking otherwise your very wet behind the ears. Wally. I couldn't give a toss how long it took Douglas to get there. He could have been phoned at 12pm when he was probably only an hour from home & told to go home. Would have been the best option anyway with his performance. Ed was working? He would have been travelling to Coventry most of the day anyway from the south coast so more piffle. Either Ed couldn't be bothered or Schroeck wanted to honour a booking(which wouldn't surprise as he has no idea what he's doing)? If you believe Ed couldn't get there then you are very naive.
  21. Pathetic again. Shroek showing he has no idea again replacing a 10 point rider with a six & a half point man. What an earth is he doing using Douglas when he has most of the PL riders to choose from. Wally. More importantly where was Edward? He wouldn't have been in Coventry at 11.30am & he lives towards the south coast anyway. There is no reason at all why he shouldn't have been at Plymouth.
  22. Why? Ed would have had nearly 8 hours to get to Plymouth after Coventry called off around 11.30am.
  23. Summed it up. Think the promotion have given up already. The riders certainly have & I have. Bottom of the league. Embarrassing. Shroek doesn't know what he's doing & is too nice. Go and read the bollocks on the Hertfordshire Mercury website he's come out with. "Proud of the boys", "Great to see Leigh coming back into form, if I demand something from him he'll give me it", "these results show we're a good side" etc.. Complete guff & shows no idea or ambition. Another awful season results wise & Kennett will be off. He was off last year due to crap results but told bmr he would give to it one more year. They certainly haven't kept their end of the bargain up what with crap side & giving up months ago on the season. What a shame this new promotion have come in and done absolutely nothing to improve the club after the tripe we had under Silver.
