If Vinnie Foord was a racehorse

ššš Heās wild, but heās young and with experience will come improvement. I wouldnāt be surprised if his conduct during the Oxford meeting at Wimborne Road played a part in Poole allowing him to join Workington. Donāt get me wrong, it was great for the BSN cameras, but I wonder what the likes of Richard Lawson - a model professional - was thinking when his eighteen year-old apprentice team mate and his mechanic (the tattoo chav) were gesturing towards the Oxford fans. -
Thatās a very good signing for Workington. Lots of potential. Iām surprised Poole didnāt keep him.

That statement from Cook is in such bad taste. āI wish the Comets all the best for 2025ā, having just brought their moral compass into question by accusing them of going back on their word. I love Craig Cook, the rider. However, Craig Cook, the person, desperately needs to distance himself from childish finger-pointing on social media and if Iām honest, drama in general. Time to grow-up before itās too late.

Riders who left us too soon.š

My mistake. As I said, I hoped that Iād be corrected and I was. Iām pleased to hear Davidās doing well. I didnāt/donāt know him personally, but he came across as a lovely young man when interviewed and evidently gave his all on the track. In a topic of inevitable sadness, itās pleasing to hear heās not only doing well, but is thriving. -

Heās in a wheelchair and has been since around 2007, as far as Iām aware. I wasnāt at the meeting, so this is second hand information, but Iām told Phil Morris took him out so badly, he was subsequently disqualified from the meeting. Iām happy to be corrected and in all honesty, hope I am. -

The first loss I recall is David Nix (Apologies if Iāve got the name wrong) in the early 00s at Kingās Lynn. I remember reading about it in the Speedway Star and becoming acutely aware how dangerous the sport was. Lee Richardson was also a shock. I had drifted away from the sport by then, but Lee I was saddened by the news of his passing. Former riders like Lawrence Hare, Neil Hewitt, David McAllan, Garry Stead, Darcy Ward, etc. gave their livelihood for our entertainment. I hope their combative and competitive mindsets that brought them to the sport have aided them in their new ways of life. -
His height suggests to me heās owned by Willy Wonka on an Oompa Loompa contract.

I liked Pearson, but heās no loss. Any rider who falls from the first team to reserve at the expense of - with all due respect - Jack Smith, canāt look back too fondly on the season. If we sign Ashton Boughen, Iāll passionately throw my fist in the air in celebration. Even if Iām at a funeral.

Quality racing has compensated for a disappointing season at Ashfield in 2024. Heats thirteen and fifteen this evening were of the absolute highest standard and wouldnāt have looked out of place in Riga last night. Absolutely remarkable that Ashton Boughen only turned seventeen around two or three weeks ago. World champion material. Hopefully Glasgow begin planning for 2025 quickly. I know the points limit is TBC, but retaining Harris isnāt just critical; itās essential. Regarding the other eight riders (including Starke and Pijper), I wouldnāt be disappointed to see them move on. Pearson, Iād entertain the return of at a push, but the rest have flattered to deceive, big time. Looking forward to the play-offs on BSN, but gutted Iāll have no vested interest. Last season was incredible.

Thatās the difference between class and world class. Lindgren and Zmarzlik have had largely unspectacular evenings while Lebedevs and Lambart have arguably been the stars of the show. Yet, when it matters, itās the Swede and the Pole who do the business. Lebedevs and Lambert must be spewing in the pits.

Best regards to Michelsen. That was a horrible crash. I canāt agree or disagree with the refereeās decision to exclude the Dane and retain Zmarzlik; it was such a close one and thereās an argument to be made for both parties. Robert Lambert, by the way. Wow. Iāve only recently returned to watching speedway. Is Lambert regarded higher than Bewley? Who is considered the stronger of the two? Not really sure why, but I thought Bewley.

A 15-point maximum away from home at the track of the reigning CLRC winner at less than two weeks older than 17 years-old to book his side a place in the KO Cup final is remarkable. He wasnāt great on the two occasions I saw him at Ashfield last season, but you could tell he was special. Iāve never saw a 16 year-old with such style or enter a bend so emphatically. Future world champion material, in my opinion.

Congratulations to the Monarchs on a well deserved win, but from a Glasgow perspective, more frustrating disappointment. Chris Harris must be the most frustrated of all. His individual input to the team has been remarkable; he deserves to the in the play-offs. Three paid four from Smith, Pearson and Perryās ten rides is absolutely woeful. Youāre never winning speedway matches with three contributions like that. Yet, the most underwhelming was Ivacic, again. This is reigning Slovenian national champion; a vastly experienced professional who participated with credit in this seasonās Speedway of Nations. How on earth is this man only scoring six points across five rides from reserve? I could take or leave Cami Brown, but he was absolutely correct in expediting Max Perryās three rides because Ivacic at reserve should have been printing points, but yet again, he let Glasgow down, badly. As I said elsewhere, after factoring in visas, flights, work permits, accommodation, transport, etc., heāll go down as one of the worst signings in the history of Glasgow speedway.

Thatās outrageous. Proper tinpot from Leicester.
