Ryan Douglas Testimonial
ShanoXtra replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Couldn’t make it but I thought with the line up it would be a good meeting. Solid line up for a Saturday late afternoon. Interesting to see who turns up for Doyle’s next year, Aussie boys normally stick together and come out for a testimonial so I’d expect similar line up, maybe with C. Holder, don’t think Doyle and J. Holder gets on very well though do they? Glad to see Douglas winning it as well! I do like the Leicester riders, if I wasn’t an Ipswich fan I’d be hoping they could do the double. First ever time visiting Hydroscan next month so hoping the atmosphere is good 👍🏼 -
What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
ShanoXtra replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fair enough! I think British speedway is just too far gone to ever bring back to the heights it used to be at. Literally the only way, I personally, could see the sport get bigger than Poland is if a random Saudi got involved in it like golf, boxing and other sports they have ploughed money into, but that was only to grow it in their country and show their country to be good for tourism as well (I know Turki loves his boxing though). Imagine speedway in the desert… what would have more dust, brum or Saudi? 😂 -

Clearly from someone who has no clue about Poland 😂 immigration they are better than us in, road networks, policing their streets. I would feel safer living in Poland than in England, unfortunately some chose to leave the EU so now we are locked in the country with 3rd world citizens 😁 instead of locking them out of our country. -

For anyone wanting to know how Polish media see’s our league 😂 from Thursdays media report in Poland… TRANSLATION: Such things only happen in England. Sheffield Tigers and Ipswich Witches have already played their semi-final matches, but on Thursday they faced off again in the... regular season. That's how you make up ground in the Premiership. This meant that Sheffield Tigers, who were eliminated in the semi-finals by Leicester Lions, had a literally meaningless match to say goodbye to their home fans. Meanwhile, Ipswich Witches, who still have the final to play, treated the match more like a friendly against a demanding opponent. -
When you write “John Louis would not put up with this” what part is complimentary or respectful for that matter ? Incase you’re a bit slow, his son is running things, so don’t speak like his dad wouldn’t be proud of him and his son’s achievements. It’s really not that difficult to understand. Also, to say I’ve got a chip on my shoulder makes no sense, why would I have a chip in my shoulder over speedway 😂 it’s not that deep.

To speak about John Louis and that he wouldn’t put up with management, riders and fans is such a pathetic comment and you need to wash your mouth out. John Louis loved Ipswich and would love to see Ipswich win as much as it pains you, but get over it. His name is adored in Ipswich and not just amongst speedway fans, he is a legend of the town and will be honoured in the Tigers meeting a week after the final. Why do you think John wouldn’t love Emil (most friendly guy in speedway) King and Doyle (dedicated to the witches), Ellis who he would have a laugh with, Brennan Edwards and Thompson who are bright young British riders which always made him smile.

I think you’re the only one confused from your geography 😂 nobody in Britain would class Middlesborough as South 😂 -
Jack Holder has signed a contract whereas if he does decide to go elsewhere he would personally have to pay £100,000 to get out of his contract with Stal. This is the only way Holder can get out of signing for Stal next season, or if Stal gets relegated. His contract is worth £225,000, and £2,100 a point, if he breaks his contract he is ordered to pay half to Stal.
