Official statement: - Re. A. Bednar. On Wednesday, September 23, the Speedway Ekstraliga issued a statement that fundamentally alters the regulatory situation for the injured rider. The PGE Ekstraliga announced that the rule mandating an automatic suspension for a rider who has suffered a concussion does not, in fact, apply to the top tier of competition. "Article 18, Paragraph 10 of the PZM Medical Regulations does not apply to PGE Ekstraliga competitions in Poland, as a dispute regarding it is currently pending before the PZM Tribunal. This dispute has been ongoing since January 2025 and concerns solely the *post-factum* regulatory consequences for a rider diagnosed with a specific type of injury during a competition," the Speedway Ekstraliga stated.

Can’t see why people don’t see Doyle staying at Belle Vue and Witches going in for Bewley. Ties to Wrocław and obviously Coleman said we may interchange/share the riders. An awful display from an awful team, let’s not beat around the bush. Poor management for keeping Lawson, the guy is absolutely useless and out of his depth at this level, stay at Poole and don’t come back. His little hissy fit after heat 13 when everyone shut off after the finish line but he decides to go full throttle even down the back straight, grade a 🔔 end in my opinion and never want him back at Ipswich. Also, poor look for the riders to not come out and see the paying fans who stuck by them after a shocking season and not even wave when everyone knows we aren’t going back to Foxhall this season.

Heat 13 was a corker and Emil still has it, I would have said probably two of the past three years he would have easily been pushing Kurtz and Zmarzlik for the top spot in SGP. I still think this story isn’t over for Wrocław as their track is fast and unique, Brady, Łaguta, Bewley and Magic can all pull out 10+ scores so it’s all on the young boys if they want it.

Bubba and Kordun are hopefully due to return although they need to see if it was officially stated as concussion, if so, a mandatory time off will be due and leaving it extremely close for the 27th match. Chatłas and Jabłoński will be potentially available if required.

Kordun and Bednar are not that bad given what they endured. Both in hospital, Kordun just having checks but not bad. Bubba has sensation in all limbs, nothing damaged and appears nothing broken, he was unconscious on the track and suffered concussion. This is the very first report.

I shouldn’t even waste my time responding but I yet I will! Number 8 is an official team number, I don’t know why people can’t get it into their heads, it’s not that hard. Number 8 has nothing to do with 5 rides either, it is for tactical awareness to use in ANY race they see fit and not the official line up of heats, I repeat again, obviously to a brick wall, but look at football and how they change tactics. More of a joke is being 6 points up and then having, let’s say, Zmarzlik, come in to help your other crap riders. Vaculik is not a ‘close friend’ of Zmarzlik. Full stop. They rode for a while in Gorzow so they get along well, the definition of a close friend is not to hug them after a race. When Vaculik bowed down to Paluch to honour his riding that kept Gorzow up last season, did that mean they are close friends or he is simply happy for him in that moment? Vaculik hasn’t even been to Zmarzlik house, Anders has and he has been on holiday with him too. Look at facts from their private life and not what you watch on TV.

This is the same for most clubs, not just Gorzow, as stated within the section I wrote about. All clubs do not prepare for additional rounds in Ekstraliga apart from the guaranteed. Half of the clubs in Ekstraliga are in debt or break even. The money for home tickets is normally enough to cover the riders wage and that is it with a very small profit left. All clubs rely on the city to give money, sponsors and TV deals to boost their income to a higher profit, not ticket sales. TV deals do not include the further matches that Gorzow and Częstochowa are now in, this would be exactly the same statement coming from Falubaz or Grudziądz if they lost their matches so you would have to say more fool those clubs too. Częstochowa and Falubaz are in big debt this season also. Everybody knows the attendance as the figures are easy to find, Ekstraliga website -fixtures- competitions - PGE Ekstraliga.

The riders have declared they will ride for reduced amounts to bring the cost down to 750,000 pln. A further 1.5 million zloty has been given by the city from the start of the season which now amounts to 3.8 million zloty. No club in the Ekstraliga contractually protects itself from the play down matches, this is a legal loophole for the league. This serves as a warning to everyone that play downs are not additional matches for the clubs to make money, but for only the league itself to enhance profit from TV rights.

BBC or ITV will know doubt get in and amongst it with Richard at the houses of parliament the other month and putting forward a case on how to grow the sport. More tracks to come back, more coverage for the general population to casually turn on TV and watch without subscriptions etc. It’s the only way to grow it. TNT and Sky get the sport subscriptions purely for football let’s face it. People still won’t watch speedway even if it is available to them because they are paying for what they want. BBC and ITV would feel more of a bonus free sport for a casual fan to pick up when bored and nothing else on TV.

It depends on which league in Poland you will ride for. Ekstraliga and M.2 will be only ones that hold the one other league rule. The Krajowa liga will still allow riding in multiple other leagues.

So why were Ellis and D Thompson not even spoken to and Brennan was? For me, they would have been better choices than Lawson and Nichols.

I love this narrative ‘we’ Ipswich fans give. If it was “cobbled” up a few weeks before the start of the season why was Brennan asked to ride before Christmas and he held on? They were making contact with people in preparation, most riders may have signed to other club for guarantees but this was not a last minute team, if Mayfield were the money in the room and pretty much knew they were getting Ipswich they could have built a stronger team. They chose the safe option in my book which would be just about strong enough to compete without losing sight of their number one and two focus, the British premiership 2027 (not Ipswich 2027) and the SGP.

Totally agree. 👍🏼 Plus I want Mayfield to see how crap of a team they produced. I know it wasn’t going to be the same as last year but this is shocking and a joke in truth. We have no good riders who ride other tracks good and we even struggle to win at home nowadays. What a sad state and come down from last year, fully blame Chris Louis for this as well by the way not just Mayfield. This is also his legacy he left behind let’s not forget.

Quite frankly, we don’t deserve the play offs after that shambles of a meeting. Even if Lynn bottled it and didn’t get in the play offs, we are not doing anything in it. I did say this team is awful before a wheel was even turned this season. And also said Lawson is crap.
