  1. Does anyone know if Sunday's first round from the Bundesliga is still on? I spoke to Adam Skornicki earlier who seemed to think it was postponed, but I didn't get chance to ask why. Any help much appreciated.
  2. He was, co-announcing with Nij, our regular announcer/ Very entertaining actually, especially the bit where he called one of Frank Ebdon's decisions outrageous.
  3. And we think we get weird n wonderful meetings over here. I noticed yesterday that the Gdansk-Torun meeting only went as far as Ht13, but couldn't make head nor tail why - it said 'Mecz zakończono po 13 biegach. Dodatkowo odbędą się wyścigi juniorów' - can anyone tell me what does translates as? I could only get the bit about juniors and heat 13.
  4. Slightly off topic but can someone just clarify the rules in Poland this year for GP riders and foreign riders. Also what is the deal with the junior/senior set-up? I'm sure I've read it many times before but would really appreciate the definitive rules before spouting off any rubbish!
  5. If true that is very good news. He just needs to take his time though and do things when he feels ready and not when people pressure him to. Have heard that he's been learning a trade back in Sweden and having a totally different life so perhaps he's just going to dip his toes back in gently. Good luck to him.
  6. flippin' heck you're good! Is there anything about continental speedway you don't know? Thanks muchly, that's a big help.
  7. Cheers Schumi...I've seen that. Definitely a help in my investigations! Looks like I'll be doing some major harassing during the season. Off-topic but don't suppose you've got the Czech league fixtures have you?
  8. Thanks Schumi....I did see some of the squads listed but haven't seen (to my knowledge) Holstebro listed yet so wondered if any others were missing. Is the WWoS the final list now or just scheduled meetings? I'm just trying to gather as much info on the major continental leagues and what's available during the course of the season as possible at the moment...
  9. Would any kind soul be able to provide a link to a(some) definitive Danish site(s) that contain full squads, fixtures (when available) and even (hope against hope) live updates from Denmark during the season?
  10. Aaah thanks for that - I'd not have thought to have checked out the Allsvenskan line-ups! As for riders missing EL meetings, don't get me started!
  11. Aye, so pleased you went and sat on them and squished them if I remember
  12. Ouch...don't hold back Liverstam, just tell us what you really think Can someone confirm that Freddie Eriksson is confirmed for Hammarby in 2008? He seems to appear in some lists and not others so wondering if he was a late addition?
  13. We did have one of those meetings at Poole last year. Damn good entertainment if I remember correctly. Beat some of the EL offerings...
  14. Nice one Chris. Good result for Proctor - be interested to see how he does over here this year. Definitely one for the future. Aussies are racking up the quality youngsters at a rate of knots. Good to see for the future of antipodean speedway after a slightly dodgy phase.
  15. Must be a bummer when there's a rain-off!
  16. That's the one...home of the Russian fleet. Mad how far away that is...
  17. Good for you. Buy why criticise a company that for many takes the hassle out of traveling to a GP? Each to their own - some people are happier paying a company to sort things out for them and the fact that many people go with them often repeatedly proves they must be pitching it at an OK level. A bespoke travel company is always going to be more costly than a bargain bucket trip but just because you've managed to do a good deal for yourself doesn't mean everyone has the time and inclination to do so.
  18. Jeeezus - that is some set up! Is that stadium for speedway alone?
  19. So no NIMBYs yipping on about noise which was there before they moved in then or objections to sounds and smells interrupting their Utopic lives?
  20. No, I dare say you're right. He has the ability to do well if he keeps focussing, practicing and getting himself noticed. And the very best of luck to him - let's hope he does go onto big things as British speedway needs all the talented youngsters it can get! He might just need to work on his interview technique a bit for the future though... So do plenty of others...the abuse I've suffered!
  21. Hehe now I know I have nothing to worry about after my recent purchase from Cowley.
  22. Possibly because not that many people knew very much about him! You have to remember that a lot of people posting on here backing other riders are either from that riders club or are sponsors. Hence it seeming that more 'attention' is aimed at them. It's not a slight against anyone else. Anyway, many congratulations to Dan Greenwood - very professional performance and the best rider on the night. For Spin King , very impressed with James Sargeant - fast, smooth and definitely one to watch. Not necessarily the fastest time wise, but fully deserved his second place. As for Brendan, just not his night, he doesn't need me to make excuses for him, he was gutted afterwards and he'll know where things went wrong, but he's had a hell of a debut season imo. An entertaining meeting and well done to all the competitors - felt for poor Shane Hazledean who lost out on countback for the final but I'm sure these guys will bounce back. Do agree with Parsloes that it was a shame more rounds weren't incorporated this year - it did seem a bit of a cobbled together championship - hopefully those in the echelons of power can give it back some prominence again next year.
  23. Jeez chill out Spin King. I know you're rooting for one of the other lads but Parloes did put 'personally' and 'imho' and 'at this stage' - it's his personal opinion, that's all. 'Personally' I also hope Brendan wins tonight too, but most of all good luck to ALL the competitors tonight, let's hope for another cracking meeting, and may the best man (or girl) win!
