No just no.

Would you take the purposive approach or Roman Law interpretive principles though? Easy to understand and "closing all loopholes" generally tend to be conflicting objectives when drafting legislation.
-
I've got another suggestion that involves linear regression. What would that do them?
-
Yes as is obvious from Tarasenko (an Ekstraliga heatleader) and Wojdylo (a league one second string) the same average. It would be like giving Jye Etheridge and Brady Kurtz the same average.
-
One would imagine that the rules (which haven't been written yet, so definitely hypothetical) would either be that his real average takes precedence or it is the higher of tye two so his Prem average would be the one to count. There are other possibilities, for example a weighted average: m x 1.3 x prem average + n x Champ ave -----‐------------‐--------------------------------------------- m + n Where m and n are the number of matches used in determining respective league's greensheets
-
It's been that way since I started going to speedway in 1970. Reserves were lowest two averages from last six matches. So they changed after every match - but only seven days later.

Issue 27, it's highlighted in green
-
Yes. It is blindingly obvious from the layout.
-
No. His new average is from 28 Aug - see latest greensheets. Nothing irregular about that, it's how it has always been.

25.08.2023 Scunny v Glasgow League
arnieg replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Technically it must be from 26th as his average goes over 9 on Moonday. But you are right in practice as I think that is Glasgow's next match -
Tarasenko 5.00 (until Monday when he goes up to 9.67) is a straight swap for Nowak (5.42) Perfectly legal. Now what does that say about the rules?
-
Ashton is still being outscored in the NDL by Ryan Kinsley, Jack Smith, Joe Thompson and (before he retired) Kyle Bickley. He is an enormous talent but don't forget Dan Bewley only scored 10 points in his first nine Championship level fixtures. Don't expect too much of him too soon. It will be a valuable learning experience for him, but any points he scores will be a bonus.

Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship

Yes of course I know that. But that was not the point of my response. I was seeking to demonstrate the fallaciousness of SS's statement. -
King's Lynn Vs Belle Vue 24th August

Because team managers must give their line ups to BSPL two (?) days before a match. How can they do that if new averages mean a change in riding order in the intervening period. It would create an unworkable situation with programmes having to be printed on the day of the match. And what if a rider achieves his new average in the first half of a double header? Do we have to cross out names in as printed and write in lots of changes? These are good practical reasons why there is a 7 day time lag. -
See for example Jacob Clouting. Shown as 38 rides (up to last Wednesday) on BSPL website And see here: http://www.gbspeedway.com/2023/riderperf.php?mc1=s&mc2=ta&mc3=pf&mc4=Oxford Chargers&rider=Jacob Clouting&league=C&sort=date&comp=CMA&club=Oxford Chargers (Ignoring abandoned match- 38 rides including the tape exclusion at Belle Vue.)

12. (9 days for riders aged 20+) -
Tape exclusions are counted as a ride regardless of whether or not the excluded rider is replaced. Two minute exclusions do not.

Poole v Glasgow 23/8/23 Championship
arnieg replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Even if Glasgow beat Oxford by ten points the Cheetahs will pick up the bonus and remain above the Tigers on race points. Then Glasgow would need to record bigger wins AT Redcar /Scunny than Oxford get from two relatively easy home fixtures. -
No Poles, but one Ukrainian.- Parnitsky Four 17 year olds: Paluch, Mencel, Kupiciec and Affelt.

So they should - lost 63-27 yesterday. [And would join Luke Killeen too]. Finished bottom with one win and 15 defeats

Having read Ashton's Facebook page, the big question is: Did he get a microwave?
