Heat 15 is on Facebook now - https://fb.watch/yUUTuTXfWM/ As I thought at the time, a second viewing confirms it. Had Kurtz shut the door on Fricke which he could have, ref would have had a hard call to make.

I tend to agree with you on Lidsey, although his heat 12 first lap was superb last night. Blodorn isn't normally afraid to mix it. Haven't see enough of Zischke or Zach Cook yet to comment, Mulford isn't quick enough to mix it with most riders in this league. Had the racing been better last night I might have come next week with it being a day off on Friday, but the dust has put me off, if I want to miss most of the action due to dust I'll do so at Perry Barr.

I don't think anyone could ever say NKI is a gater, for a few years (probably about 10-13 years ago) he was my favourite rider in the GP's because he couldn't gate! Klindt yes, jury out on Kvech still. Cook can race. Kings Lynn, make the playoffs?

He said he'd increased the camber on bed 1, 2 & 3 but needs another two weeks to finish the job on bend 4 in the on track interview, pre-meeting Away race points... 90 for 90 against in the league for the Aces so far. They haven't visited the ripe hunting grounds of Perry Barr or Cowley yet. I had forgotten that. When Douglas retired it was because he & Howarth clashed exiting turn 2. Kurtz had missed the jump but Howarth was not giving Kurtz an inch, he certainly took his front wheel away.

I am at a bit of a loss as to how to assess this meeting TBH, after 4 heat I was wondering if the aggregate bonus would even be salvageable for the Aces, Bewley aside they were so sluggish to start with. The 5-1 following the Becker exclusion gave them hope, I couldn't see (due to dust/angle) the coming together with Blodorn from the exit of turn two where I was stood. Becker had certainly passed Blodorn entering the straight but Blodorn was going quicker having taken a wider line. The 1-5's from TS Kurtz/Bewley & the Kurtz/Blodorn meant I thought it would depend on Lidsey winning heat 13 after the interval. Lidsey produced the first lap of the night to swing wide and pass both Kemp & Douglas to win heat 12. Bewley & Kurtz hit the front in both heats 13 & 15, but Bewley made a mistake to allow both Lions through in heat 13 & Fricke did enough to force Kurtz off the inside line which also allowed Becker through in heat 15. I thought heat 15 would be null & void TBH, was expecting a 5-1 from Kemp & Howarth in heat 14 but Cook finally decided he'd come to the party & won it setting up the last heat decider. I suspect this result will be put into context when the Witches visit next week. Fricke & Becker could be the strongest pairing in this league if they're kept together but one suspects Becker will end up at 3 or 4 soon enough, suspect the switch may come when Kemp overhauls Howarth in the averages. I am certainly beginning to wonder why Lemon wanted Zischke over Vuolas I'm not seeing anything from Zischke to suggest he can be a force at this level. I also think it's time to switch Blodorn, Cook & maybe Lidsey around. Until the interval the track was poor racing wise, the only passes (Kurtz on Douglas, Fricke on Bewley & Becker on Blodorn) were because the leader drifted too wide on turns 1 & 2. I think Kemp must have passed Cook, but at the time I had so much dust in my eyes standing on the back straight I was blinking constantly to remove it.

Blimey car park gets full quick. Hardly any spaces left at 6:15. Second time I've needed petrol when getting here, second time I've driven the wrong way down a one way system to get to the Tesco petrol station. The people of Leicester pay 6 p more a little than the people of Cannock for petrol. Or is Tesco usually that much more expensive than Sainsburys for petrol? The start marshall is the same chap as he guy who used to do it at the EoESg?

Depends on the form of Fricke & Lidsey for me, I've seen the Aces at Beaumont Park when neither Bewley not Kurtz could get near Fricke but Bewley was unbeaten in the playoff final. You'd expect the Aces top two to have the edge over the rest of the Lions septet but if Lidsey doesn't chip in with a few wins I can't see Aces keeping it close enough in the first 12 heats to have a chance at the end. Blodorn could be a bit of trump card, I think he's said previously that Beaumont Park is his favourite away track. Don't expect much from Aces reserves, has Zischke ever ridden at Leicester before?

Don't think much more could have been expected from Ben Cook TBH, he was the only Star to beat Lidsey until heat 15. Going from gate 4 in heat 1 at the NSS is something Fricke, Bewley and until this season Kurtz struggled with. Zagar was the only rider to consistently get decent outcome from that scenario. Wasn't his last visit to the NSS when he threw away a spot in the SoN final for Czechia trying to chase down Lebedevs when along side Milik they had the other Latvian relegated to last? At least he didn't do anything stupid like that last night. He beat Zach Cook which NKI failed to do in heat 14.

Obviously, like Connor Bailey before him he's going to use family ties to claim British citizenship. -
Playoff Grand Final 2024 replay, same result? Weather forecast looks good.

That was what I was expecting to be honest, the Kings Lynn 'Unlucky' Stars lost 3 points with a Harris EF in heat 2, which he was winning comfortably. The track was prepared quite grippy, which meant the racing was quite processional in the early heats Kurtz being unable to get near Lawson in heat 1 highlighted that. It also meant Klindt wasn't in the slightest interested. Harris had a decent third ride, he was faster than Lidsey who won that heat but gave him too much of a lead as Harris had to negotiate traffic. NKI was the pick of the Stars, had two good battles with Blodorn & Z Cook but was also totally blitz by a sensational first bend by Kurtz after NKI has made the initial jump. Belle Vue heat leaders are too quick for him these days. Cook, Kvech & Lawson did about what I'd expect from an NSS visit. Boughen was overhauled by both Aces in heat 2 & really seemed to bottle it when Zishke assed him, but made the Aces work for their heat 8 5-1 in which Lawson was completely anonymous. Someone predicted Bewley would drop 4 points tonight, absolutely ridiculous as proved. Z Cook getting the better of NKI was what surprised me most & Mulford showed he does have potential. Kurtz produced the fastest lap 1 time in 10 years apparently when he blitzed past NKI, it was good to see Blodorn back in the mix after a poor night in the KO Cup. Lidsey hit a massive pile up of loose material on the apex of bends 3&4 in heat 15 which only Lindgren, French grasstrackers & Bewley seem to be able to plough through which blotted his scorecard.

Jepsen-Jensen has had a stellar weekend in Poland! Won individual meeting @ Łódź on Friday Michael Jepsen Jensen 1 2 3 3 3 3 - 15 Top scored in the pairs event @ Grudziądz Saturday Michael Jepsen Jensen 2 3 3 3 1 2* - 14+1 -
I don't see Lidsey dropping many points against the Stars TBH, he surely can't be as sluggish away from the tapes as he was against Ipswich a few weeks ago. Interestingly KL have put Klindt & NKI together at 3&4, they're the two most likely riders in their team to beat one of the Aces top 3. One should have been at 2 and the other at 5 in my opinion.

1 Brady Kurtz, 2 Norick Blodorn, 3 Jaimon Lidsey, 4 Zach Cook, 5 Dan Bewley, 6 Tate Zischke, 7 Jake Mulford. 1 Ben Cook, 2 Richard Lawson, 3 Nicolai Klindt, 4 Niels-Kristian Iversen, 5 Jan Kvech, 6 Chris Harris, 7 Ashton Boughen.
-
Well I fail to see Bewley dropping 4 points if it doesn't include an EF. The only time I suspect he'll possibly lose to a Star is heat 4 of course he may finish behind Kurtz in heats 13 & 15. Only NKI pulling a vintage out of the locker is likely to lower his colours from the Stars septet.

Score from Łódź Daniel Bewley 2 2 1 0 2 2 = 9 Score from Gdańsk Niels Kristian Iversen 2 0 3 2* 3 = 10+1 Scores from Workington Nicolai Klindt 4 4 4 3 = 15 Tate Zischke 0 0 2 0 = 2 Chris Harris 4 2 2 4 = 12 Zach Cook 4 4 X 4 = 12

Does that include an EF?

Weather forecast remains good for Monday, can the Aces get the better of the Stars at the NSS? Bewley rides at Łódź this evening in the Zenon Plech individual. NKI is set to ride in the Henryk Żyto Memorial in Gdańsk. Bewley is also set to represent Wroclaw in a pairs event at Grudziądz on Sunday, alongside Janowski & Laguta. Don't think any other riders from this meeting are in action on the continent this weekend. Klindt, Z Cook, Zischke & Harris are involved in the Championship pairs at Workington tomorrow. Harris & Zischke are also set to ride in Championship Riders meeting at Scunthorpe on Sunday.

Sheffield v Birmingham 3/4 Premiership R1

Result wasn't much of a surprise Tigers were always going to react after Woofinden's injury. The fact Zagar scored very little doesn't surprise me, the few times I saw him at Owlerton for Belle Vue he had one reasonable ride from memory. Musielak posting such a low score does surprise me, he was almost unbeatable around Owlerton when I saw him riding for Sheffield. -
Only going by updates. It seems two early EF's cost Kings Lynn a few points but Harris being able to take an extra ride following Boughen withdrawal evened things up a little. Interesting that it was Bewley rather than Lidsey chosen for heat 14, Lidsey's score to that point was better than Bewley but looks like Lemon got that right. Kings Lynn were always going to struggle when it came to last heat deciders, it's the price they pay for having a rider like Harris at reserve.

BIRMINGHAM v LEICESTER Mon 24th March KO Cup 1st Leg
Col replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He didn't really prove himself a number 1 at Kings Lynn last year, he was signed as third heat leader originally by Sheffield behind Holder & Ellis, he certainly surpassed the latter but not the former. Briefly in the averages maybe but not over a season. Musielak average is 8.2ish... Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley, Kurtz, Fricke, Holder * 2 & Woffinden are all on higher starting averages. Making him the 9th best rider in the league in theory.. only 7 teams, wouldn't make him a genuine #1 in my eyes.
