  1. Lidsey's league season ended in Poland last weekend but Kurtz' & Bewley's didn't until last night, I doubt they could get their kit from Wroclaw to Manchester in a van that quick! As it's a Monday, the protected night for British League, you'd hope so. Was the Indianerna v Vastervik meeting rearranged prior to last Thursday night when it was known who Belle Vue would be facing this evening? I honestly don't think Zischke has it in him to come to the party currently, I've not seen anything to suggest he is capable of consistently scoring points in the top flight.
  2. That's unlucky for him, but if he's out of the final then Torun/Wroclaw have more chance of winning. He has been the big difference between Lublin and the other two.
  3. I thought you maybe there and kept a look out but I didn't see you. Fairly dismal dusty affair, no sign of a water bowser perhaps it has been flogged along with photos at the top of stairs and the screens in the bar which were absent on Monday. Two passes I can think of. Zagar in heat 4 blasting around the outside of a Lions reserve and Hagon yielding first place meekly to Becker in heat 8 after he'd done well to hold his ground entering the first turn being the meat in a sandwich and shoving Becker wide. In fairness to Musielak he tried absolutely everything to get past Howarth in heat 9/10 inside, outside, cut back but the track was so dry & dusty he just couldn't find a way past. I'll not shed any tears over the loss of Perry Barr, any affection I had for it was 20ish years ago in the time of Lyons & Mole. The track hasn't been the same in the past 6 years, almost always dusty without much passing, the terracing is not steep enough so the view is limited and that 'Bus Stop' that has been erected next to the gate makes viewing even more difficult. But the fact that Cradley, Coventry, Wolves & Brummies are no longer operating means my nearest track is Leicester which is an hours drive away only if traffic obliges. Sheffield & Belle Vue and to a lesser extent Oxford are do-able there and back in a day but that's all. Sad times for the West Midlands.
  4. Easy win for Lions I suspect. Sad night for West Midlands Speedway, likely to be the regions final meeting. Don't forget your sunglasses & caps, it was bad at NSS earlier it's always bad at PB. Gonna be squinty.
  5. Not the best meeting I've seen at NSS in terms of racing but with a full crowd the atmosphere was very good. Bonus point might have been up for grabs had Mulford not hindered Blodorn for two laps in heat 8. Kept getting Morris & Pickering mixed up, which one scared Zischke out of a point in heat 6 or 7?
  6. Well they were wearing Glasgow Tigers race suit with #3 on the back but it doesn't look big enough to be Dan Thompson.
  7. Who did a few pre meeting laps? Looked fairly accomplished.
  8. Interesting rut developing in line with gate 3 going towards first bend.
  9. Oops... this was meant to be Brummies v Lions thread, forgot to edit topic fully after copying title of other thread.. Sorry! Been away for weekend so first time I've had chance to look at forum. Are there no longer any mods operating here?
  10. Track looking well watered at the moment. Haven't been to midday BHM fixture for a while, looking very busy. Bad timing for the roadworks on Kirkmanshulme Lane! Hope no problems getting here for Bewley & Kurtz after late meeting in Poland last night.
  11. Second bank holiday fixture for me, it's like the Dudley-Wolves days of my youth only much more travelling and less niggle on the terraces! Lions to win by 10 on the final Speedway to ever be raced in the West Midlands ☹️
  12. Well this will be the first of two fixtures for me on Monday, weather forecast is good at the moment, Leon Flint to clean up at reserve but Aces top 4 get them enough points to creep over 45?
  13. A bit harsh on Cook, while his away form has been poor he's been good at the NSS. Hope Zagar has a good night, could be his last visit to NSS.
  14. Manchester City Centre to Altrincham is more like 45 mins than 10!
  15. Not really sure Manchester Storm Ice Hockey count... they're based in Altrincham.
  16. That is a problem at Owlerton, 3/4 bends is definitely the best view due to the shallow steps on the home straight terracing & equipment on the dog track.
  17. 2021 was when RS was introduced, Flint was Wolves RS for 22 & 23 also. Brummies 24. Tigers 25 Born February 2003 so will be 23 when the next season commences.
  18. Looks like an iffy performance from the Premiership form team against one of also rans.
  19. Tigers always better Aces over 2 legs... until the playoffs Zishcke & Mulford get 6-7 between them.... don't be silly, Flint & Etheridge won't drop a point to them at NSS.. they may take a point off Rowe... Not sure I've seen him at NSS. Can't remember seeing Morris either.

  21. No about 10! Yes it was and the best was yet to come in heat 12... Rew v Harris was tremendous. Sadly that was the last time the outside line worked because there was nothing out wide in the final 3 heats. Kvech gets passed by Barker in his 3rd ride then comfortably wins heat 13 in the quickest heat of the night.

  23. A queue to get in.... What's this? Unfortunate timing I think doesn't look like there are any more people than usual inside the stadium.
