Cardiff 2004 - Block Booking
Joanne replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hope so too, Gemini, although I suppose its up to FD. I was speaking to a Scottish customer the other week, he thought I was losing my Scottish accent and it sounds quite English now By June I'll have a posh Buckinghamshire accent -

Thanks FD. The cheque will be in the big red box this morning. Looking forward to it already. Glad to see that eight more have joined us from last year -
2004 British GP Tickets
Joanne replied to witchnut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Think you'll find the GP is slap bang in the middle of the GCSEs. W Vs H is doing them as well, but theres NO chance of stopping her being at Cardiff. Thanks LW, but 'he who shall not be named' has decided that the kids don't need to go to the GP if they don't wish so Michael is staying at school probably doing revision that weekend and Rebecca is staying at home. So I'll be on my own :-( or or or even maybe -

Put me down for 1 as well FD. Looks like everyone who I had planned to go with this year have chickened out :-( but at least I'll be with my forum friends -

See http://www.speedwaygp.com/ Tickets now can be bought online. Don't know what this air horn free thing is though. We're not soft, us speedway fans Just one question. My son is due to do his GCSEs next year, does anyone know the dates? -

2004 British GP Tickets
Joanne replied to witchnut's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I don't know what I'm doing next year yet. The other half has commented about going to Cardiff with me but not to see the speedway :-( So I don't know if the kids will want to see the GP. If I'm alone I might just get a ticket on the home straight but if some miracle happens and he does come along I'll get a family ticket. -
6000 just isn't enough for a final. They would have been better to have had it at Coventry or even Copenhagen (brilliant atmosphere and roof) but I suppose it couldn't be helped as they had to change their plans with OZ/NZ. Must have lost alot of money.

Nicki P - World Champion 2003
Joanne replied to Shortcrust's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Great riding from Nicki tonight. The team spirit from the Denmark team seems to be brilliant. Hope he has grown up now and will be a great champion. Hard luck to Crump. -

SGP 2004 Calendar Announced
Joanne replied to tomhaines's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That's early AJH. The Easyjet ones don't come out until the end of December. Think I'll wait to see what the last one is now, Paris or Sydney or somewhere else :?: -
Glad to have you back Doc Think if I were to go back I would hire one of those bikes, its so flat around Copenhagen. The expense does put you off, you end up eating McDonalds all weekend as the Danish stuff is so expensive but I did have a good seat in the stadium, bottom tier.

SGP 2004 Calendar Announced
Joanne replied to tomhaines's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Wouldn't be surprised if its Sydney, thats why there is a question mark over it. They are doing all the talking to see if they can afford it this time. That is what I think anyway. Get your beach gear ready Pawprint -

They are saying on the Yahoo site that there is another GP on October 23 next year and unofficial reports are that it is Paris. -
SGP 2004 Calendar Announced
Joanne replied to tomhaines's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
How come the the info is in the Speedway Star and not on the GP site or on the BSPA site. No new interesting places in 2004. Have to decide where I want to go. Definately Bydgoszcz (I might take up your offer FT ), Cardiff and Prague and possibly another 2. -
I would love to go to Norway, just a pity its so awkward to get to. Hiring a car would be ok if a group of us could get together but not really on your own. Bit short on the pennies anyway after putting a stage 1 kit in my mini. Looks like I'll be sitting a row 1, seat A again. Will be more organised for next year, will make sure the last GP is in my diary.

Jason or Nicki?
Joanne replied to London Witch's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Think I'll have to go with Jason, meaning I would want him to win and he probably will. Used to like Nicki but his behaviour on the track sometimes worries me even though Jason's behaviour off the track sometimes worries me. If I was Jason's mechanic I don't think I'd sleep for the next two weeks and I'd be so worried about making a mistake that I'd probably make one -
Thanks for that info., Derwent. Was going to keep my left over Czech money for next year. Will have to change it now.
-
I can feel a sicky coming on :!: It's actually £25.42 with the tax added and its the same for Friday-Sunday. Thanks Norbold Just noticed its the wrong airport in Oslo. Good job I never booked it
-
I went this year. Stayed in the First Hotel Vesterbro near Central Station. Got it on special offer from www.totalstay.com, still not cheap though £60 per night, doesn't help having a single room. Nice hotel and nice guests (TK ) As for flights I used Easyjet, cost about £75. Flights are out for next year about December time. Not sure if I'm going next year. Hope this helps
-
I'll let you off then, Derwent. Just hope you never gave your wife to be too much hassle as I suppose you'll be wanting to return to Prague next year
-
Derwent, You're right. I did get the budvar from Old Town Square, sort of opposite the clock but along a bit with the budvar umbrellas. I know I really paid for the seat and I know I could have got it a lot cheaper but its a bit hard walking into a pub yourself in a back street. Also did you miss the GP because you arrived at the stadium and couldn't focus properly etc or did you just get carried away in the pub and just forget about the GP :?:
-
Maybe Phil FC needs a Falkirk FC strip for Prague next year then he can just point at his shirt Found the Budvar a bit strange after drinking the other Czech beer although I have had it before and found it to be very nice
