Confused by this Lioness. Didn't see much Budvar about. It was all the other two famous Czech beers, although apart from the speedway I didn't wander past Prague 1. Did have one Budvar though in the Old Town Square, sat down and waited for all the Polish fans to appear. Cost me over £2 for that pint Nice views of the square though

THE BIG ONE - Bydgoszcz Grand Prix
Joanne replied to Rico's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Bydgoscz is on my list of places to go in the future preferrably when the GP is on. Would probably like to go in a group to this one rather than on my own. I'll just have to make do with the leather sofa, 28 inch screen, bottle of wine, nibbles and toilet facilities nearby for this year To everyone who is travelling out to Poland, have a great time -
Thanks Tigerblade. I think you would love Prague. Good sightseeing, great speedway track and cheap beer (maybe too cheap ) The transport system is very good also Hope to see a few other forum members there next year.

Good result on Saturday keeping the standings very close. Had a great weekend. Nice to meet forum members Discoll and other half, Cheetahhawk and hubby, Ballanger, HOTSHOT and girlfriend, Steve Jones, and Full Throttle with Dawn. Especially nice to meet Julie and parents after 2 failed attempts in Wenceslas Square and 1 failed attempt at Brandon. Good sighting of Julie and parents on the TV. Lovely city Prague is. Definately will be going back next year. Could have done with a bit of company on my non speedway days but I managed OK. Had some fun with FT, Steve Jones and Dawn on the way back from the speedway. Don't worry FT, I won't tell anyone what you got up to . Hope you all got back OK after our forum meeting in the the Old Town Square and thanks for making the day even more enjoyable for me

Thanks Gemini. Just been up to the stadium to collect my ticket. Spoke to one of the lads who normally stands with the forum lot (to your right at Brandon). As for Pawprint she'll have to be really quiet as the sign at the stadium says 'no dogs' :-(

Don't know about suncream. I've felt quite cold since I got here. Enjoying myself so far. Lovely place

Charlie Gjedde deserves a wild card after tonights performance. Wait a minute, should I put my Danish flag in my suitcase just in case  :?:
-
Wow, Ballinger. Have you got a photographic memory :?: I've printed it all off. I'm OK from/to the airport as I've got transfers arranged to/from my hotel. Didn't realise when I booked my hotel that I'd have to pay 20p more for a beer. Not to worry though, I'll just walk to a pub thats cheaper
-
And you'll be in danger of bumping into me as I'm staying in Wenceslas Square

Well done Ryan. Went quiet in my house as I was in shock when Crumpy didn't move from the tapes. Rickardsson must be thinking how silly all the other riders are for not taking advantage of his downfall. He is almost giving all the other riders a chance. Thought the track looked really good before the first race but by about the third race it looked terrible. I wonder if there was any complaining going on. Pity about Lee. He did well. Did anyone else notice that he accidently was called Rickardsson in one race

Only if I can find my passport, which has been mislaid since returning from Spain. You had me checking where my passport was FT. Hope you find it FT. I suppose you'll be washing and ironing you JC t-shirt today

Will Sky Show Grand Prix next week.
Joanne replied to drakey's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Very nice of Sky to think of us. Now I'll have to look at the cinema schedule for the other half and kids. I suppose I could send them to bed early  -
Never mind Gemini. Thanks for looking for me. I'm sure Julie and I can sort something out. Theres' probably some famous statues or bridge we can meet at.
-
Thanks Gem and Joanne. I'll be in between the 3rd and fourth bend on Saturday if your around. Julie, I was at Brandon on Monday. Gemini couldn't see you. Please email me if you wish to meet up with me for a coffee or whatever in Prague.

The boys done us proud!!!
Joanne replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just like to wish the Brits all the best for tonight even though I don't know if I will get to see it myself. Every rider in the British team has played their part to get to the Final. WELL DONE LADS -
Don't worry Gemini I still like Coventry most of all. I've taken the Reading race jacket off and was going to put on a Monarchs one especially for Lioness but its too hot today and I haven't got one on at all now Mylor, try this site if you're still looking for a hotel www.athos.cz They've been very helpful with me. As for flights I've just looked at easyjet and theres still flights left. Looks like the Friday before and Sunday after are getting really expensive. Julie, nice to have you back on the forum. If I'm at Brandon before Prague you'll have to come along and say 'hello'.

And I thought I was the only one who gets excited

Event 2 tonight - Come on Team GB.
Joanne replied to MAD 3:16's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Brilliant meeting last night. Well done to the BRITS even though they didn't win. Was asleep for a couple of races after I came back from Reading but by the last 10 races or so I was fully awake again almost jumping up and down with excitement. Can't wait until Thursday now. -
Lukas Dryml Injury
Joanne replied to Chris Brown's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I don't even want to look at the crash again even though I taped it for my dad. Will put a warning in with the tape about the crash and will tell him the rider is OK. Just glad they didn't show the crash at the end like they did with the Loram crash last year. I wouldn't be offended with what Kev and Addict said. They said it AFTER we knew he was OK. I suppose Lukas will be very very sore all over today and will have to take it easy for a couple of weeks. Get well soon, Lukas. -
Slovenian GP Result
Joanne replied to Philip Addison's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Only because I had to log in, Philip. Did everyone's signal go funny or is something sitting on my dish :-( Kept losing it on that last race. Congratulations to Leigh. That crash with Lukas ruined it for me. Glad he ok. Wouldn't like to be in the shoes of Jason Crumps fuel filler Better hide if I was you -

Just to let everyone know that Lukas is concious and all they can find on him is a broken front tooth. Glad he's ok -
Who will win in Slovenia?
Joanne replied to Triple.H.'s topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Dryml to get his first GP win with Rickardsson getting a sneaky second again and Crump third. -
Gredon Probably not too many comments about the GP as the forum for full up for a couple of days after and nobody could post. Really enjoyed my weekend to Copenhagen. When I got past security I didn't have too far to walk at all. Thought my part of the stadium was quite posh, nice toilets, bar area and great view. I was on the bottom tier near the green plastic to the left of the press etc. As for the racing, it was the usual GP stuff, boring at first then plenty of incidents and good finish. Great atmosphere, better than Cardiffs (this year). Copenhagen was a bit expensive but it was only for three days. Would take a mountain of sandwiches if I was going to the World Cup. Nice place though and very flat (good job though as Doc and I walked miles). Would definately go again.
