  1. You could be in luck there iris123, or unlucky PM will be on the way
  2. I am a woman (well, the last time I looked, I was ). I went by myself a few years ago. Trick is to do alot of homework on Prague, maps in hand and directions. I used the transport to and from the Airport for the particular hotel. Lots of Prague websites have transport to and from the hotels. There are plenty of forum members going to Prague, maybe get to know them during the season before Prague. Prague is a beautiful city.
  3. Sandie I have the Speedway Star in my mitts now. If you want me to scan any, just tell me your email address.
  4. Sandie, I have emailed TP about this problem. I don't get the speedway star but buy a subscription for a friend. I have asked them to put the up to date tours on their website for poor people like us
  5. I don't agree. Prague seems to be better for racing than Bydgoszcz. Lots more to see in Prague but the tourists are starting to get ripped off, this wouldn't happen in Bydgoszcz.
  6. Travel Plus are also doing trips to Bydgoszcz. The brochure will be out soon.
  7. Eurorider are taking a trip to Bydgoszcz if you don't mind a long coach trip. Might even consider it myself, but nearer the time.
  8. Because of circumstances which I can't change I am going to give the foreign GPs and miss this year and concentrate on my British Speedway. Still have to get to Somerset, Stoke and Workington as well as the new track at Birmingham. Will be going to the British GP.
  9. Great. If its so cheap to fly from Scotland, think I will go up there to get a cheap flight
  10. Rabs, please do not sell your tickets. We enjoy seeing you there. There must be coaches going from Poole. Maybe for the 2 of you the coach would be £60, which would make the cost £120 with your tickets. Make a packed lunch, that'll save you money. I'll buy you a drink at the meet up (You'll come now )
  11. Maybe Sandie was talking about their swords, like on your avator Kev H
  12. Which is the sharp end? Think I'll stick to my soap watching
  13. You're not in the RAF, are you Brycream boy? They don't wear brylcream anymore As for the hotels, try http://www.staypoland.com/
  14. What a brilliant weekend although stressful at times. Met many old and new friends. Didn't realise I had so many friends Food was good (apart from that sausage near the track, still suffering ), company was great (I think Atron 5000 enjoyed herself) and the weather was brilliant. The racing was alot better than it has been for a few years at Bydgoszcz. Can't wait until next year
  15. Well, I'm back. Many thanks to my driver for getting me back safely. I will never moan about the British roads again.
  16. Size restrictions a bit bigger. But you must take your toiletries in your case which means you will still have to take a case. Unless of course you buy it there. Thanks Gary, getting my tape measure out
  17. As I unfortunately cannot speak Polish apart from Pivo , can anyone see if there are any directions to the track on this site http://www.start.gniezno.pl/terminarz.html We are coming from Bydgoszcz. And does the meeting start at 4pm? Thanks in advance Joanne
  18. That's disgusting. It's not as if you can shuff all your clothes in your hand baggage as you are only allowed laptop size bags on the plane. I feel sorry for people like my parents who fly down from Scotland on Ryanair and then catch a different Ryanair flight abroad. It will cost them a fortune. Now I have to convince Atron 5000 to cut down on all her Goth clothes (she'll kill me if she sees this) and put them in with my boring fleeces
  19. I have received an email from Ryanair, it goes something like this. HAND BAGGAGE RESTRICTIONS – FLIGHTS FROM THE UK, POLAND, FRANCE & ITALY > > Please see below for the new hand baggage restrictions for flights from > the UK, Poland (to the UK), France & Italy (to the UK) > > Hand Baggage Allowance (10kg per person) > > Each passenger is permitted to carry ONE item of hand baggage up to 10kg > (bag dimensions have been reduced for all flights departing from the UK). > If you are departing from a UK airport and in accordance with the UK > Department for Transport, the following reduced cabin baggage dimensions > apply - 45cm (length), 35cm (width) and 16cm (depth). These dimensions > include the wheels, handles, side pockets, etc. > Passengers who arrive at a UK airport with hand baggage exceeding the > above dimensions will be required to pay an additional checked bag fee or > if they are over the maximum 20kg baggage allowance per person, an excess > baggage fee will be charged of £5.50/€8 per kilo (or local currency > equivalent). > > General Information on Checked Baggage Allowances > > A checked baggage allowance of 20kg per passenger applies to each customer > who has paid a checked bag fee. Any passenger checking in baggage > exceeding their checked baggage allowance of 20kg per person will be > charged an excess baggage fee of £5.50/€8 per kilo (or local currency > equivalent). > Passengers may not use the unused checked baggage allowance of other > passengers. No pooling/sharing of the checked baggage allowance is > permitted, even within a party travelling on the same Confirmation Number. And this is on their website A Baggage Fee is charged for the carriage of each item of Checked Baggage. The Baggage Fee may be prepaid at the current discounted rate of £3.50/€4.50 per item of baggage/per one way flight when making your reservation. If the Baggage Fee is paid at the airport or through our reservations centre, the full rate of £7/€10 per item of baggage/per one way flight is charged. Baby buggies, wheelchairs, scooters and walking frames are carried free of charge. The Checked Baggage allowance is 20kg per person (15kg per person for all passengers travelling from the 1st November 2006 onwards). There is no baggage allowance for infants, although a pram/buggy will be carried free of charge. Each Passenger may check-in up to five items of checked baggage, up to the checked baggage allowance per person (a Baggage Fee is charged for each item of checked baggage). For health and safety reasons Ryanair will not accept any individual item exceeding 32 kilos and with combined dimensions of more than 81cms height, 119cms wide and 119cms depth. This weight limit does not apply to mobility equipment. Does that mean that I will have to pay £7 each for Atron 5000 and myself each way for a case each under 20kg. Seems a bit steep, or am I reading it wrong?

  21. One problem, Mateusz. If the meeting is in Gniezno, why are you giving train times to Gorzow?
  22. Don't know where that hotel is, Rob B? I certainly will be getting a taxi back from the stadium. Must get to the hotel bar before the Fairies
  23. It depends which hotel Rob B is going to. If he is going to the Brda, then he will definately not need a taxi but if he is going elsewhere then walking with a wheeled case might be a problem. Its cobbled streets right to the main street of Bydgoszcz.
