Simple take on it from centre stand after watching riders fly by and turn into that corner for more years than I care to remember. Allen went where many go week in, week out, but Jakobsen went straight for longer than is normal which gave Allen nowhere to go at high speed. If that happens on turn 3 the Allen gets excluded then nobody is any the wiser. Happening where it did I wouldn't have been surprised to see Jakobsen excluded. If it's a racing incident then why is anyone excluded as both are culpable?
-
So you are gonna rise to it but in your own time, not that there was any bait, it was just a simple question. I look forward to you clarifyinhg the situation for me later.
-
Well I could say the same but I did, it must hurt not to be able to explain yourself. It wasn't a particularly difficult question.
-
So what's your summing up of how he came ride straight on into the fence? I thought that he'd have preferred to turn left if allowed.
-
"much improved" - think that we're a bit early in the experiment to be making those sort of statements.

Peterborough V Rye House Plc Friday 27th March
Crump99 replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No, but he is supposed to turn left. Not saying that I disagree with the decision but wouldn't have disagreed if Jakobsen have been excluded for unfair riding. I suppose if that was going into the 3rd bend then the decision wouldn't have been questioned which perhaps agrees with the ref's decision. -
And when was that document published? You missed off 18.6.5 though which states that all BSPA guidelines are open to interpretation, depending on who's asking and what day of the week it is. Also 18.6.5.1 The guidelines should not be taken too literally, we leave that to the boys and girls of the BSF.
-
If "he is permitted to return to the Premier League on his 2013 Premier League average of 4.92, which he achieved with Scunthorpe and Plymouth" is correct then surely the BSPA will say any other rider which meets the criteria would be ok as well (unless they close the loophole). Surely the BSPA have said that it's ok in this case because it does. Anything which doesn't match the criteria will be subject to the rule as quoted. Going round in circles now, it's approved so live with it, we have over many years.

It's proving difficult Dick. They seem to be stuck on the "rules set in stone" whilst not knowing the full facts vibe: So Panthers agreed legal side for tomorrow is, Readypower Panthers: Olly Allen, Lewis Blackbird, Ollie Greenwood, Robert Lambert, Simon Lambert, Ulrich Ostergaard, Michael Palm Toft.

Just explain all decisions made, simple. Such as "the Speedway Control Bureau confirmed the home side had tracked an illegal guest in Kozza Smith." - "The Court therefore ruled that the result of the Meeting between Kings Lynn and Peterborough reverts to the Meeting result declared on the night and that the Meeting Match points be re-instated." Why? That's speedway rules for you!
-
Protest against what? We don't know why it was permitted as stated in the Workington press release? When has the BSPA ever been transparent? These things happen and every team riding against Poole would ride under historical protest if they followed your suggestion.
-
Well whoever wrote the press release thought it was and there's been plenty of time to correct it or take it down if it's inaccurate. Who gave the info that he is "permitted" and what was that based on? However, it is slightly worrying that with 25 hours to go to tapes up (or kick off in my case), there is no team news? Richard Richard might yet get a run out.
-
The decision had already been made so it's nothing to do with us. We haven't got a decision, they've just said that the Workington decision is correct.. If it goes too well for us though they'll invoke the Kozza Smith rule if need be which will make our team illegal, subject to appeal of course!

I saw this quote which was aimed at someone else (funnily enough Rick Frost, so it's ironic that the owner/sponser is allegedly finally getting the benefit of the guidelines) and it seems to apply to many on here: "He thought Speedway rules and regulations were set in stone. They aren't."
-
"The Twenty-four year-old becomes the fourth Danish rider to be named in the Comets line-up for next season and despite averaging 5.20 for Elite League Belle Vue last season he is permitted to return to the Premier League on his 2013 Premier League average of 4.92, which he achieved with Scunthorpe and Plymouth."

Roynon being fit is only short term though given his track record. Could be a Readypower track spare in a shed at the EoES.

Just been looking at the Peterborough thread so something basic like a full team for starters. -
£10 steady on!
-
"Swales confirmed he is in daily contact with co-owners Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney" perhaps

Friday 27th it is then! -
Where speedway rules are concerned, everything. Rules only apply depending on who's asking and what day of the week it is. 16.1.2a can quickly be agreed at the next BSPA meeting.

Great way to run a business, that'll please Hodgy.

Good lad Tel, you know it makes sense! An 8 team EL doesn't particularly excite but I'd rather be watching Iversen, Batchelor, Bjerre (as a member of the opposition), Andersen (just about as he's PL standard these days anyway) - who are all our riders: or probably Poole assets now! Zagar, Harris, Jonsson, Holder etc and Sky coverage being relevant to us. I'm sure I'll get over it Tel, probably about November
-
You didn't like the quality post Tel, sitting there in lower league towers as you are

Friday night was good in 98 I agree but it was just the hors-d'oeuvre for what was to come. Cunningham was sensational in 98 I agree: In 1998 He reached the Overseas Final and finished on the podium in third place, as well as winning the Premier League Championship, the Premier League Fours and the Premier League Pairs with his club side, Peterborough Panthers. To cap his best ever season he was selected to ride for England against Australia at Eastbourne.
