He just did that to some extent with product returned severly damaged at half-time, along with, in Rick's words: "The club’s reputation has been damaged and that reflects badly on me and Julie." - so in answer to the question, getting back to a point where he has a saleable asset and can once again say: "we have regained our good name in speedway." That should be enough?

I think Batchelor will get one. He's improved over the season and, apart from Iversen, he's better than the other three IMO at this level. Plus they'll want the Melbourne round to be a success with 3 Aussies plus Ward as the 16th man.

It was reported, if my memory serves me right, as a 2 year deal with option to purchase at the end of that. Clearly not the most watertight agreement as most people weren't confident we'd last the season. It was touch and go!

I don't know why people keep banging on about regular Fridays. Don't people think that if it could have been done it would? Frost had the financial clout but could still only get some Fridays (which possibly anyone else could also get) and not too much in the way of consistent fixtures, especially during the summer months. Unless the landlords have a major policy change and spoonful of helpful competence then it'll be fragmented fixtures for new owners or Rick & Julie if they have a change of heart? Bratters was also part of Horton's first tenure when Fridays were all but lost, and also a driving force during Colin's tenure, along with Frost's early years. What miracle is he going to perform now that he couldn't then?

Because that's why we're here IMO.

Don't think that they want that on their cv tbh. The effort and expense will not be recognised, only the end result!

I do, but as you can see, it's more complicated than just because it's there, which isn't a great argument for the majority, even it it is for some! Many of the problems stem from the time of that piece, and whilst successive promotions have tried to run with difficulty at the EoES (and we thank them for their efforts and financial support), our lords and masters from Rugby have continued to preside over a worsening product. Speedway needed to go the other way. I know that costs, but could they not, for instance, have used the Sky money and exposure better as well as the commercial opportunities that should have brought? 2010 was a definining moment. Speedway either moved forward or turned into the EL 2014. We all know which whey they chose and it's no surprise that's it's not the Skysports EL anymore and us lucky Panthers fans are facing our annual dose of the abyss from the nowhere league (bit harsh but after over a decade in a decent EL then that's what it's like for some) this time! MH did what he does in that first stint, CH did ok until he overstretched himself, RF was the opportunity which didn't happen for numerous reasons, and we're back with MH doing what he does at Peterborough although the fact that we're still here discussing things is somewhat down to him to be fair! Now it's up to RF again, shame he bailed out just when it was working, but looking at the EL it's not hard to understand the rapid u-turn this time last year. So it's new owners, Rick & Julie or sweet FA; what's your money on?

You've got to be a bit brighter than the mate, our exiting leader was using that 10 years ago:"PETERBOROUGH Panthers supremo Mick Horton has issued a harsh message to the club's fans - support us or lose us." You missed off right presentation and right overall product (although league, team, opposition covers most of it I suppose).
-
That's the easy get out these days isn't it?
-
Without knowing what the EoES are like to work with it's hard to comment but these days we are clearly just another booking instead of the prime and looked after user we once were. Prior to Mercer arriving and a shrinking showground Panthers used to run quite happily alongside the show, expo steam, faith, motorhome etc so not sure what the issues are these days apart from limited access routes and massively reduced parking? Would the 2014 EL have saved the situation? I think not! They need to turn the clock back 10 years to allow better quality from 1-7. Hardly watched Sky this year, it's been that bad.
-
He knew that though before he took over once again after having the same issues before at Peterborough. This time he had things as he wanted with supposedly a return to the sustainable Premier League that some of the fans wanted. However, according to attendance figures quoted last week by Frost and Horton we seem to have lost 700 fans (which at one point, if my memory serves me right, was quoted as enough to make it break even) on average. For those that didn't attend in 2014, I can say that Tuesday wasn't the main factor if you want to come back with that old chestnut!

Frost's business has never got out before so I wouldn't take much notice of that.
-
Hello Michael, thank you for coming to my palace at such short notice

They don't use forums these days Tel.

Last time they had to take the end panel on turn 2 to replace a bust one a few panels in so it was shorter unless the bust panel was repaired which I doubt for one meeting.

Problem is that you can say it but you can't say that you disapprove! -

Well if it's anything like his horse tipping service (that's hansfan not Arson) then you may be correct -

We'll leave it there because hansfan tells me that "kennys alright !!! decent bloke" whereas if it had been "the geordie know it all" then I might have bothered, but he and George seem to be the only ones holding the same hymn sheet -

Why are people always whining and argumentative when they can't get a straight answer? Did George knowingly give up the date before the Peterborough v Edinburgh meeting was even confirmed (in which case that is deserving of thanks) or did he suddendly find out he would like to run v Edinburgh but we'd already got them on that Sunday, buggering up his plans? To create a problem at that point is not worthy of thanks even if there is one of those unwritten BSPA guidelines saying Newcastle could pull rank but for some reason didn't. I trust that you can understand that although it now matters not as the day is gone! -
Plus Poole Stadium is in the centre of town with not much else in competition with it, as well as speedway being well publised locally in the holiday destination. If our motorsport masterplan had come to fruition then we'd have been playing on a level playing field apart from having a football team but not a beach.

Didn't Stanair say that he couldn't agree a deal though which shows willing and not desertion through lack of effort? Horton hasn't done any worse on sponsors than Rick and Julie? It could be said that he did better as we did negotiate a deal with TC Harrison to be main team sponsor which is something Readypower Panthers never had? However, I'd imagine that TCH are as happy now as Muscle Finesse were in that glorious 2008 season. Probably scared off for life likewise

Is he looking for a change of employment then? Fed up with teeth?
