  1. Which haven't worked so they have run on some Sundays and publicly stated that they'd like to run others. Didn't see anyone object to that announcement or this fixture until someone realised that they'd cocked up. We probably could have found a Tuesday date but it's all agreed and organised now, we've gone past the looking for suitable dates phase.
  2. If the someone is you then it's a pleasure although everything is so clear cut and you know it all so it's not easy to ignore you, even with the ignore function on. So nobody at your end had thought that you may make the semi-final, who the opposition might be and what date you might wish to run? If you had the date as provisional in your fixture list and we didn't consider those questions or check then I might have more sympathy.
  3. So we assume that Newcastle objected to our Aug 6 press release saying that we wish to hold more Sunday meetings? Makes you wonder how this fixture was agreed and who agreed it. Even the BSPA have it in upcoming fixtures so they don't recognise your argument or surely it would say provisional http://www.speedwaygb.co/ (I took a full screen snip should it mysteriously change!)
  4. I'd imagine that Newcastle raised their objection when Panthers news (Aug 6) posted: "Panthers bosses are keen to stage further Sunday fixtures following the success of a recent victory over previously unbeaten table-toppers Edinburgh." and everyone agreed this fixture without anything else in the way? Just seems tough unfortunately, we were in there first. Of course being as it's Peterborough they'll side with the opposition.
  5. It is when your business is so influenced by others. In our case our landlords and the great ship BSPA. The only subjects discussed every close season since Mercer arrived (now gone thankfully?) are the difficulties & losses. It's only people like Rick Frost who can buy in to that, otherwise we end up back at your fed up point! I appreciate what your saying though!
  6. If Horton is on his bike then Neil will be on the crossbar so I don't think you'll get any joy on that front. Panthers future has been in serious doubt since Mr Mercer & Crew (that's not the AWOL start girls btw) rolled up at the EoES all those years ago, and given the seemingly increasing difficulties of running at the EoES it a surprise that we're still running at all tbh, through MH, CH, RF & somehow back to MH again. What will be will be!
  7. We've not been told we're not running yet but we have been twice before in the last few years so this is not knife edge proportions, yet. Unless someone has something more concrete than rumours, guesswork and assumptions to offer that is! You want to get in touch with the patbutcher film company Tel, they'll produce a funny film for you. I'm afraid that I've no idea who they are, wish I did, so can't help with a contact.
  8. When they say run the EL with 8 (I've seen the suggestion on here at least) I do wonder how that fits with Sky? I'd imagine that they are showing EL speedway and the numbers matter not in whatever deal they have? That's why I don't think the current league structure itself will change apart from the usual tinkering, so unless they lose more tracks then I don't think the begging bowl will be out to Rick and Julie or anyone else. Any involvement would involve negotiation between the parties and they've only just put out the fire from last time! That rumour hadn't filtered through to us in the Elite (excuse the pun) section of the stand Tel but did make me chuckle. If he wanted to be involved then I doubt Mick would be an obstacle. He'd say here's what you're owed or how much do you want to vacate the premises, we'll discuss Had heard the last two points although know of no evidence to prove either are possibly true!
  9. That seems to be the rumour but just means a standard close season for us these days: will we, won't we and where!
  10. As we've not heard anything from them for the best part of a year then one assumes that nothing much has changed and they'd offload it if the right offer came along and are therefore not interested in being involved as they once were? Especially as Julie is down as promoter and therefore associated with this dogs' dinner of a season. Have you seen any explanation or cheerleading from the promoter at any time?
  11. So you'd be happy for Peterborough & K Lynn to swop leagues. You could still visit the EoES and get you PL fix at the NA?
  12. He doesn't really need to worry about viable though does he, and he'd already said as such, although he's also indicated that he's not keen on putting money down the drain? If he fancied another swim in the shark infested custard then I don't see him as a second best kind of guy, but who knows? If it was let us run on the night of our choosing or lose Peterborough full stop then I'm sure that the BSPA would be accommodating. It's all wishful thinking though (or perhaps not for those happy with what they have) from the no news zone of the EoES, but wouldn't be surprised at a change of sorts at the helm.
  13. Whilst I agree to a point, if ostrich is the selling point I'm glad you put "these days" in!
  14. No chance of that happening unless an average crowd of 250 is now viable & would make all the work by those involved seem worthwhile? Anyway, bigger flop than what?
  15. Note to self: when it says do you want to view anyway, just remember that it'll be something like that if you do!
  16. Ooh that sounds interesting, do elaborate doctor (not on the Eastbourne trip!).
  17. That's almost funny! - I think hansfan had gasps of desperation at the news so you're in the right ballpark
  18. Surely logic tells you that they'd know that anyway and would have done the first if possible, if not the second?
  19. Now that was better effort but I'll stick you on ignore because you're very tedious & people don't want to read us discussing that.
  20. I told you not to give up your day job after your last attempt at humour, why you no risten! You can fix them all up elsewhere if you like whilst taking a quote function users course. I agree although Thurs/Fri & Sky's choice worked ok for me.
  21. Don't see Rick & Julie running but if they did then it wouldn't be PL anyway so he wouldn't have to make that decision, and even the Readypower budget wouldn't stretch to Sullivan's air fare!
  22. Couldn't give a stuff, Assume that you need to sort the rest of your post out!
  23. I want stevebrum posting that we're in the wrong forum section That'd just about finish me Tel (which means it's go to be a goer!), hope you are well
