  1. When you have a system that works fine though and has done for years and gives the disabled their independence and control of their own situation, why remove that system without good reason to take away that control and single them out as disabled? Some might be happy with a lift and some may not but why create the problem. Peterborough has space not to create more work whereas I assume that Leicester does not.
  2. Not the best idea you've had Neil. That will get few signatures and they'll use it as ammo to say that they know of few dissenters to the club and their management shamefully removing the reasonable adjustments Peterborough Speedway has offered to its disabled fans over at least two decades or so. The club have kicked off in support of it's disabled fans in the past when the landlords have taken this action but the EoES have clearly washed their hands of this and the club definitely own this mess. If they were going to look at it again then they wouldn't have issued an official statement that made the situation worse. The idea of reasonable adjustments is that they level the playing field for the disabled. Without a very very good reason, if at all, you don't remove these adjustments to make a disabled person's life more difficult. If any organisation of worth looked at the club's reasoning I'd guess they'd say that it was weak to say the least and what did they do to address these access route and verbal abuse issues? Not having seen any action myself I guess that we'd struggle to answer the question. As boring as it may be for people wanting speedway news I guess I'm saying don't deflect from this thread as well. This needs to be kept high on the agenda and they need a plan c. I know that's not your intention but that's what another thread does.
  3. Agreed. Just signed in today and see that he's popped up with an introductory post and picture of the family but I still stuck him on ignore so will not see post 2 and beyond.
  4. Shame that ignores still open on the main page but it does remind me of something: Del Trotter - Can you smell that? What is that? Sheep is it? It's cows? No, no, I know what it is. It's bullsh*t!
  5. I found it amusing/sad that Mario Jirout liked the post of the statement on the club Facebook page - what's that all about
  6. With additional: People with hidden disabilities, including anxiety disorders or a brain injury, can apply for a Blue Badge for the first time from today (30 August 2019).
  7. Additionally there's no mention of measures that they took to deal with the issues raised, in fact they didn't with any recognised communication to those affected. Clearly they've dug a hole, unprecedented against their supporters by the club in it's 50 years, and then continued digging rather than see commonsense and do the right thing within the family sport that they claim to be a member of. How much effect this will have in the time the club has left at the EoES I don't know but the club, it's sponsors and associates need to be viewed in a different light now and this action must not be forgotten.
  8. Someone on Twitter seems to think that the current arrangements are the new arrangements so even if they do use social media then they're hard of thinking. The first meeting at 2pm Sunday should give a false impression as you suggest (usually always the best attended unless the club has success later in the season) but then they get to the bread and butter when their fanbase probably takes a consistent hit. As Mick bratley said in his final blog "People 'in the know' within the entertainment industry suggest that all Speedway clubs will lose 8% of their core support every year, through a variety of differing reasons." (And he won the EL) so we've consciously chosen to increase that percentage from the off by alienating our disabled fans and their associates..
  9. Ah bliss, but will it work when he changes to TheDwadandDosseroftheBSF?
  10. What a nauseating prospect. Thanks for keeping it going though, the promotion must love you.
  11. I guess that it's not anything to do with disability awareness? More like can I have fries with that
  12. Indeed and that's where TheMessiahOfTheBSF (Jed's brother ) looks a bigger ignorant loon than normal although that's his intention to get a reaction so job done I suppose.
  13. As we've real no real idea who really runs the ship or makes such decisions then it isn't really a surprise. Clearly what is a surprise is that they didn't try, that we know of, to deal with the points that you raised, and indeed they have identified themselves, before taking the nuclear option and alienating a section of their fan base, and wider society, that they seem happy to lose, as well as any associated revenue and knock on.
  14. Who the hell let him out? Don't worry, trolls are usually nocturnal animals. You mean that come teatime there will be millions of the gits? No, just the one
  15. ok one last play they I must go. I've got to sleep for work in the morning and you have medication to take. Fact is that I was perfectly happy with the parking arrangements, never mentioned it and never lit the blue touchpaper. You need to look a bit closer to home. You're not Jed Maxwell's brother are you with a Hans Andersen decorated bedroom and 14 hour tattoo?
  16. Breaking the golden rule as you clearly have a hidden mental disability (which may qualify you for a BB, not that it's much use now in this context) but they've chosen to take that option away from a section of their fans which indicates that they have enough backing and don't require paying punters.
  17. As a bit of a free for all then I'd say that they should have a rough idea but that would only be if anyone did a count on the gate. The logical thing should have been to tighten up the system, get those details, set clear guidelines and consequences. The first notice backed them into a corner and today they've fenced themselves in as well. If it is now sadly too difficult to attend then the only option is not to attend and spread the message wide about why and who's responsible.
  18. Don't respond to the resident looney wealdstone (Neil ), as tempting as it is. Irrelevant who they sign now tbh. They had a chance to jump out of the hole that they created but chose to keep on digging. Looks like they wish that to be their legacy for as long as we're at the EoES.
  19. Until someone decided that the Arena car park was the place to go, basically where you've marked (hence driving through people and access routes), then the disabled generally went left away from the problem and parked on the roads towards the stand away from access routes and pedestrians. Many did last year although this wasn't the seemingly little known agreement, and did seem to be abit of a free for all, but was never picked up on or dealt with that I'm aware of. It's no good moaning about, and taking the nuclear option to, a problem before trying to deal with it sensibly. Had they done that and then said it's not working because of logistics, abuse of use, insults to staff etc then they might be receiving more of a sympathetic ear.
  20. Neil posted it on previous page, hence the discussion.
  21. Given that they've created the fuss and couldn't organise, as every previous promotion has done, the system that they're ditching then I think that you give them too much credit. That's just an additional problem which isn't any less problematic than administering internal parking.
