  1. Could be although I'd heard that he didn't want someone running it for him? But time moves on and situations change so wouldn't be surprised. I'm pretty sure that the skeletons will stay locked away and it'll be business as per usual. National anthem or the mascot - tough choice! Bratters was at the football last night with a Panthers jacket on. It confused me at the time but it's all becoming clearer
  2. It's a secret like everything else? Apart from a couple of statements there is usually very little in terms of news around this time. It's been announced that we're running so you wouldn't expect that to change. The happy clappers will take any news that they are given whenever it arrives and others will moan a bit but just get on with it anyway. That's speedway.
  3. I think that he ignored the best advice given to him when Rick Frost allegedly warned him about that lot. If it was a management decision then Swales should have known better anyway. Then with all that in mind Rathbone still gambled and lost so it's hard to feel sympathy. Is there more to it? Maybe or maybe not. They'll just let it die down until people forget.
  4. Don't tell him that, it only means another half dozen teams. You can't assume anything from the club website. Whoever runs it just usually reacts when the news appears somewhere else, if you're lucky. Panthers have declared that they are running. Don't see the problem really. Communication is never great and comes in short bursts.
  5. That's what they'd have thought, or not in 2017. Once bitten twice shy you'd hope.
  6. And how's the supremo's Sunday Bees progressing?
  7. Actually it just highlights the mental damage inflicted by campanology.
  8. As usual you've lost me, ever thought of applying for a job with the BSPA!
  9. If It was the deputy police commissioner though he'd have resigned following the latest verdict or at very least been suspended until the further court hearing.
  10. That's correct. Although considering "The findings of this investigation was that both parties admitted that a discussion regards the level of fine had taken place" you could ask why not?
  11. If Holder's anywhere near the place in 2018 then we'd have lost the plot completely as you can know. If the big league goes one or two nights then it'd be interesting to see whether the EoES would be accommodating? I suspect not and that they're are happy for us to fit around whatever dates they offer. Frost couldn't buy regular Friday's so the current promotion are unlikely to be able to. It'll be much of the same and that will not in any way be compatible with Holder.
  12. Since we left the EL in 2013 we've been nearly off killed as many times in 4 years as a decade or more of EL speedway so it's not quite that simple. I suspect that the decision has already been made anyway and more of the same will be confirmed over the weekend, so the "which league" discussion can be knocked on the head for 2018.
  13. What makes you think that they'll change. If Rathbone's running it it'll be no change. It'll only not be Sunday if there's an ambitious new owner and that seems highly unlikely. All will be clearer on Sunday evening I guess if the AGM press release arrives? This is the only thing for Sunday afternoons: LEICESTER Speedway can confirm they have been approached by Coventry Bees promoter Mick Horton with a view to hosting meetings at Beaumont Park in 2018. The proposal is for National League racing to take place with the Bees in action on Sunday afternoons
  14. I've seen that mentioned elsewhere. For those who don't get the SS, what is the gist?
  15. Allegedly dodgy indeed! The good news is that as the tangled web unravels in front of us, Chapman's statement of: "I am passionate about defending British Speedway. This is a major blow to the sport in the UK and the blame is very firmly at the door of Peterborough Speedway." Looks rather selective and vindictive.
  16. Apparently he did say no. The question is why it didn't stop at no. We know some of the answer but I suspect nowhere near enough.
  17. People are only assuming because I don't believe that anyone knows what the reasons were as mentioned on Aug 6: "If the rider had gone to Poland and raced without the permission of his club he would have been banned for withholding his services for 28 days - this is not the case with Jack Holder as his club have given him their blessing and we have evidence of the true reason. They have sold British Speedway down the river. Hancock's injury caused the problem but Holder knew his future diary just as anyone else does. He didn't need to instigate anything but did need to say that he's already committed on the dates required. I guess that he didn't when approached? Whether he did but something was still cobbled together by those involved, who knows? Guess we'll never know!
  18. What are we looking for? That brings up "LIONS SET FOR RACENIGHT CHANGE" - as much as I'd like that to be relevant to Peterborough, it's unlikely to be of any relevance. The Rhodesia solution
  19. It stopped being an internal matter on Aug 6 and has been somewhat of a public slanging match ever since. Lack of transparency and communications lead to the speculation that does damage, or unnecessarily adds to it. They could have put something out like that with an end date. (I see that matey above already said the same!)
  20. Jeez it's started already. Any day but Sunday please!
  21. Holder's only sitting pretty because Rathbone waved him on (but why is the crux of the matter relevant to the thread I guess) when it should have stopped at the phone call we were told came from Poland making the enquiry. If we can't talk to you had meant that, and that's where it stopped, then Holder wouldn't be sitting pretty if he'd still chosen Torun.
  22. C'mon Rodders, you've been around too long to second guess anything with this lot. Plenty of negotiating still going on in the background and any outcome still possible.
  23. Good job that you didn't turn up a few years ago when they actually had rugby posts erected on the centre green, that would really have confused you. Still on about the gates I see. Specsavers have a £10 offer on for eye tests, it might be a good investment if you visit us again
