MDL AVERAGES (Up to and including 31 August 2016) (Compiled by Mike Moseley) Jack P Blackburn 12.00 Eryk Borczuch 12.00 Lee Geary 12.00 Jamie Halder 12.00 Luke Ruddick 12.00 Adam Portwood 10.67 Henry Atkins 10.15 Joe Lawlor 10.00 Andy Mellish 9.82 Jordan Jenkins 9.71 Taylor Hampshire 9.67 Conor Dwyer 9.33 Ryan MacDonald 9.33 Alex Wilson 9.33 David Holt 9.09 Ben Basford 9.00 Ryan Burton 8.73 Lee Springthorpe 8.67 Alfie Bowtell 8.57 Kean Dicken 8.57 Rob Watts 8.57 Bradley Andrews 8.21 Sam Bebee 8.00 Chris Hay 8.00 Robert Parker 7.60 Layne Cupitt 7.58 Lewis Whitmore 7.48 Niall Strudwick 7.38 Sam Wright 6.77 Carl Basford 6.67 George Hunter 6.67 Kyle Roberts 6.67 Sam Woods 6.67 Sam Chapman 6.63 Luke Whitehead 6.06 Josh Embleton 5.87 Connor King 5.76 Stephen Whitehouse 5.44 George Rothery 5.33 William O’Keefe 5.30 James Chattin 5.14 Sam Woolley 5.00 Alex Spooner 4.89 Saul Bulley 4.67 Connor Fletcher 4.27 Gavin Parr 4.00 Sean Phillips 4.00 Mitchell Beckett 3.67 Lewis Austen 3.29 Jake Isherwood 3.00 Stuart Freeman 3.00 Craig Osborne 2.56 Lloyd Ditchburn 2.25 Arran Butcher 2.19 Sheldon Davies 1.33 Ollie Rutter 1.20 Danny Wright 0.67 SNIPPITS: Belle Vue have used 15 different riders thus far with Niall Strudwick topping their averages with 10.67 from a solitary meeting. Sam Woolley is their most used rider scoring twenty points from his five meetings, notching a 5.00 average. He’s recorded one race win, six second places, five times third, and four last places. Buxton have utilised the services of more riders than any other club, with a total of eighteen. Lee Geary and Jamie Halder are the leaders of their pack, with one meeting a piece for a 12.00 average. The most used rider has been Sam Wright, who has donned their colours in eight out of the ten matches ridden. The 16-year old rider currently boasts a 6.78 average, having won five of his twenty-three rides. Josh Embleton is the next most used man, with five appearances. Coventry produced a sensation in the form of Eryk Borczuch back on the 13 May, when he blitzed King’s Lynn with a 9-point maximum, winning all three races by a country mile, yet strangely he’s never been used since!! Young Henry Atkins is putting in a marvellous shift for the Warwickshire club, with an impressive 10.15 average from his four appearances. Most used rider has been Mitchell Beckett having ridden in twenty-two races throughout the course of his eight meetings. King’s Lynn have relied heavily on Lewis Austen and Lewis Whitmore with seven and six appearances respectively during the course of the ‘Morello Racing Lightning’s’ eight completed fixtures. Layne Cupitt has the distinction of sitting on the Norfolk outfits highest average with 12.00. But like Geary and Halder at Coventry, he’s only made the one appearance. Long Eaton also have Jamie Halder sitting on top of their pile, once again with a 12.00 average from his single meeting at Scunthorpe in July. Having raced nine league meetings, the Leicester based club have shown much faith in Stephen Whitehouse and Craig Osborne, giving them seven meetings each for a 5.76 and 3.05 average respectively. Mildenhall have used less riders than any other club, with nine different names appearing in their statistics. Team manager Phil Kirk issues more press releases for his club than any other, and it appears to be working dividends, as the majority of the public remain after the main event, to watch the up and coming West Row hopefulls. Although Luke Ruddick is registered as their top man with his 12.00 average, like so many other riders in the league, that does come from just one meeting. Alex Spooner is the most familiar face with the fans, having ridden in all seven of the East Anglian sides meetings, for a 4.89 average. The 16-year old is yet to win a race away from home, but it won’t be long in happening, as he slowly climbs the speedway ladder of success. Milton Keynes who are based at Peterborough this year, aren’t the dominant force they were in 2016, and are currently propping up their section of the league table, having won just three of their eleven meetings. William O’Keefe and Connor King are their most used riders, both having ridden in the seven meetings. At the moment, O’Keefe is proving to be the slightly better prospect, but it’s very marginal with a mere 1.18 different in their averages for the ‘Knights. Scunthorpe unquestionaby due to facility availability, do more for youth speedway than any other club, and are a credit to the sport. They’ve ridden eleven league matches at this point, and have used the same amount of different riders, using Lloyd Ditchburn in ten of those meetings. The only meeting he missed was the 19-16 home victory over Belle Vue early in July. His current average is 1.58 up on his closing one of 2015, which proves the Midland Development League is doing the job it set out to do. NJL AVERAGES (Up to and including 31 August 2016) (Compiled by Mike Moseley) Joe Lawlor 11.64 Kieran Douglas 11.00 Kieran McCoy(aka Taylor) 10.33 Jordan Palin 10.29 Corban Pavitt 9.56 Chris Hay 8.89 George Rothery 8.89 Mark McIlkenny 8.44 Jack Flynn 8.00 James Hitchen 8.00 Kevin Whelan 7.83 Archie Freeman 7.78 Carl Basford 7.47 Blair Smith 6.67 Josh Embleton 6.15 Sam McGurk 6.12 Ryan Morris 5.67 Lewis Millar 5.33 Gavin Parr 5.33 Luke McKenna 4.67 Luke Harrison 4.38 Jack Wright 4.19 David Morgan 4.00 Elliot Kelly 3.78 Lloyd Ditchburn 3.60 Liam Little 3.11 Dale Pate 3.00 Andrew Blackburn 2.67 Sam Chapman 2.67 Bailey Fellows 2.67 Kris Forster 2.67 Dale Lamb 2.67 Gregor Millar 2.40 Sheldon Davies 2.22 Alex Goldsbrough 2.13 William O’Keefe 1.82 SNIPPITS: Berwick currently occupy second place in the league standings, having used seven different riders during their eight matches. Kevin Whelan boasts a 100% record, having lined up in every meeting. His average of 7.83 puts him in fourth place in the Border Raiders charts behind Kieran Douglas, Corban Pavitt and Mark McIlkenny. Halifax are based at Scunthorpe and are current league leaders, not having lost a match yet. The only slip up they’ve made is when they drew at Workington on the 14 May. Joe Lawlor leads the way by example, with an 11.64 average, but close on his heels having ridden three meetings more, is Beverley born Jordan Palin, with a current CMA of 10.29. The Yorkshire man, has finished either first or second in every away meeting he’s ridden for the Dukes up to this point. Newcastle still have an equal amount of meetings to ride home and away, so far only winning once at home, which was against Redcar on the 23 May. Six meetings and six different riders used, is a commendable record, especially as Archie Freeman, Jack Wright and Dale Pate have ridden in the lot. Of the three, Freeman leads the pack on a 7.78 average, with plenty of time to improve on that figure. He is also the only rider to not have finished last in a race on Tyneside. Northside have used nine different riders up to this point in time, with Corban Pavitt coming to the tapes in all six of the clubs fixtures. Proudly displaying a 10.22 CMA, he’s won twelve out of his eighteen races for the Cumbrian outfit. Gregor Millar has only missed one meeting, but is yet to win a race home or away, and I’m sure that will be rectified before the end of the campaign. Redcar have a record they’d like to be rid of, as it reads six meetings, six defeats. With Berwick the only team left to visit the South Tees Motorsports Park, they may be looking to achieve that elusive victory on their travels. Carl Basford is ‘Stockton Van Centre Cubs’ main attraction with his impressive 7.47 average. Elliot Kelly is Mr 100% having ridden in each and every meeting acquiring a 3.33 average at home, and 4.67 away. Workington have the unofficial unwanted record of having used more riders than anybody else, that being eleven in total. Kieran McCoy who sometimes rides as Kieran Taylor, is making good strides forward in his career, achieving a 10.33 average for the ‘Meteors’ , putting him in third place in the overall Northern Junior League averages. He’s won every race he’s been in away from home, and is yet to finish last in any heat this year. Lloyd Ditchburn has ridden in every meeting bar one, but then it’s a case of whoever is available on the day.

Thanks for the advice Star Lady. Yes it is that show, and if I can get them to swop for similar seats I will try that. Trouble is that show is so popular, I don't think I've got a cat in hells chance of getting anything quite so near to the front. There are three or four KL fans going to the show on Tuesday too, it's so frustrating. Oh sod it, I'm going to the theatre. Take Care, and enjoy it on Wednesday.
-
Damn, if it's Tuesday, I can't be there....bought theatre tickets!! Whatever happened to the days when you could rely on meetings being run on your usual race night?
-
To day has been a lovely day, yet at the same time hugely disappointing. We left Norfolk at 7.30am this morning, and drove to the Peak District to support KIng's Lynn im their speedway meeting at Buxton. We had a trouble free journey, under mainly cloudy skies, arriving at Bakewell soon after 10.00am We treated ourselves to a lovely fish 'n chip diiner in our favourite restaurant, shielding our eyes from the bright sunlight. We left there and went and sat by the river and enjoyed a very overpriced ice cream, when suddenly a text message came through saying it was raining in Buxton, some 20-minutes up the road, saying the speedway had been cancelled, and there was us basking in the sun and 22 degrees. We then moved onto Matlock, but found it impossible to park anywhere, so have driven back through Chesterfield, Mansfield, Newark etc., and not once has the sun dipped down. So how unlucky were we to be that close to our destination.....that was covered in rain!!

Phew, I nearly set off.

As he's not in the declared squad published today, I can only assume his appearance tonight will be as a guest. -
Kings Lynn V Lakeside 1st Sept 2016
Mimmo replied to Hornsey's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The latest set of team declarations have been published today, and not a mention of Nicklas Porsing having joined us. Rory is still in the line-up!! -
I'm at a race meeting at Rockingham Speedway with my nephew that afternoon (he's racing), which is just down the road from Beaumont Park so to speak, but yes, I am a bloody idiot for returning. I'm putting a lot of faith and trust here in Mrs Hemsley, and if she lets me down, then we'll go for a meal somewhere instead, because I 100% won't pay again. IDIOT....IDIOT......IDIOT.......YES.....YES.....YES I KNOW AM!!
-
I hope that both Rob and Dale are still involved in their current roles next season. However, if that wasn't to be the case, then how about Colin Pratt who lives in the town.
-
It's time the BSPA stepped in and tried to help the King's Lynn fans that are still in a corner like this, if nothing more than to keep the reputation of the sport in a good light. I'm not actually in possession of my tickets, and although it's an inconvenience for me to return on that date, I will so as to not lose out completely, even though Iversen will be missing again. Because I've got to be in London the next day, it's not worth me returning home after the meeting, as was the case on the 16th July, so I've got to fork out around another £70 for a motel again, and can only hope and pray that Yula Hemsley is true to her word, because I won't hand over any more cash.
-
Yula Hemsley has told me through a third party, that the names of my wife and I will be on the gate for the meeting against King's Lynn on the 10th September, as we are now in a position to go. If I get there and find they're not, then I'll bring the gate home with me..LOL!! That's good that you can now use your tickets em1500uk, but it's sods law that when your steam tour is rescheduled, it's probably clash with the KL v Poole meeting, or the National League Pairs Final!!!
-
I would keep Lewis Rose, Robert Lambert & Simon Lambert from this years squad, and try and build up from there. I'd also keep Niels if there was a 100% commitment from him, but the rest I would replace. But to be honest, I'll be surprised if next years league structure will be very much like this years, because it's just not workable anymore. I was at the Scunthorpe v Newcastle meeting on Monday, and that was all done and dusted in 1 hour 30 minutes, which to my mind, is plenty long enough to keep people hanging around.

What a fantastic 23 heats of speedway, a meeting that warranted more respect than what the mass exodus produced at the end of the Premier League meeting, which was an isult to those taking place. Well done Laurence for running such a professional meeting for the few of us that remained.
-
I would definitely return with a new management structure in place. I like the stadium, I like the majority of the fans there, I've always enjoyed the meetings there, especially the British Youth Championships, and you've got the best track shop in place since the date the club was established. I hope you do get a good crowd tomorrow because I fear it will be woefully low when King's Lynn visit, unless we are all paid back the money we are owed by then. Enjoy the rest of your season, and fingers crossed for a properly run club in 2017.
-
I got to the stadium, and the place is simply awash. Bloody Bank Holiday weather!!
-
As I said to you the other night, for those that have returned their tickets, and have proof of that, Leicester Speedway are committing a criminal offence as far as I can see. We have purchased some bits of paper (tickets) off them, and by not handing over to us what they've taken money from us for, is sheer theft, and they can not, or must not be allowed to get away with it, no matter what it takes.

Mimmo replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So glad you're coming Shale Searcher (weather is looking very good at the moment, so fingers crossed your journey won't be wasted), but please bring Messrs Hemsley, Machin & Darcy with you, armed with their cheque books, so they can pay all us KL fans money back they STILL owe us from the 16th July. -
