Kings Lynn V Poole Ela. 11/8/16
Mimmo replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I attend a large amount of British Youth Meetings around the country each season, and there are some excellent prospects currently involved. For those that have never been, at £5 admission (well £10 in Leicester's case), it's fantastic value for money, and the meetings do draw fairly large crowds, especially the one at Leicester, which ironically, probably provides the best racing too.. -
I'm still keeping everything crossed that those responsible refund my money, especially as two other people have received their money back, but can't understand why it's taking so long. If I don't, then that is victimisation, and I will take the matter up with the Trading Standards Office and a Member of Parliament to start with, and see where we go from there. The clock is now ticking.

Thanks again stevethelion and tellboy. Yet again nothing has arrived in the post today, so I'll try the e-mail address you've given, and see what happens. WHAT A CLUB!!! I've just received this from Linda!! Hi Mike Sorry I don't work in the office so I am not sure if your refund has been sent yet but I will ask for you and come back to you as soon as I can. Kind regards, Linda Linda Jones linda.jones@leicester-speedway.com www.leicesterlions.co

Does anybody know the e-mail address for Linda Jones please? I'm a bit of a dim wit at times when it comes to Facebook, and although I've searched, I can't find the comments mentioned by Mr Bump and stevethelion. Thank You. I've just tracked my letter through the Royal Mail, and a Mr, Mrs, Ms Newberry signed and took delivery of it. I can't find this name on the list of the clubs officials, anybody know who he or she is?

Extremely pleased to hear you've got your money back. I'll await someone else posting the same news, before I trust them enough to send mine back. As I said in my original posting, it clearly states in the programme that the tickets can be used next season, despite David Darcy saying you can't, an argument he'd lose in a small claims court. I don't think I can get back this year, and if they're not promoting there next year, would I, I wonder, still be able to use them under a new management. I want to trust them, but don't know how at the moment. Have you got anything back yet Tellboy?

If you read my post properly, I did say it's superb value for £10 admission. The point I was making is why should Leicester charge double what any other staging club has, what makes them so special? But hey, not's let fall out over it, I hope that everybody that goes has a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, which I know they will, and I'm sure you will too.
-
Next Sunday they stage the British Youth Championship which is superb value for the £10 admission, as it's always such a good meeting to watch. That's where the good bit ends, because every club that have already staged a round charged £5 admission, so why are this lot charging double. Another case of biting the hands that feed you, so I shall miss my first round of the season through their greediness.

That's the decision that should have been taken in the first place...fair to everyone.

KING’S Lynn have taken the decision to postpone Friday’s Knockout Cup tie between the Young Stars and Eastbourne. Extensive track work was carried out on Wednesday in a bid to salvage the Elite League match against Swindon following a heavy storm in the build-up to the meeting. Unfortunately the weather forecast for Friday shows the possibility of further downpours in the afternoon and evening, and the club do not wish to risk putting supporters, riders and staff into a potentially similar scenario. An early call has therefore been made and we would like to thank Eastbourne for their understanding.

Meeting postponed due to an adverse weather forecast.

King's Lynn V Swindon 20th July 7.30pm
Mimmo replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With tongue in cheek of course!! A win yes, but not quite that big. Hopefully it will cool down by tonight, because it's to hot to do or enjoy anything at the moment........almost -
BSPA and all regs 14.7.1 say is that the promotor must ensure that “ the BSPA approved Readmission policy notice is appropriately displayed” and that when a meeting abandoned before completion of heat 10 “bring to the attention of spectators arrangements regarding the validity of readmission/ reduced admission tickets. Full details should be available at the entrance” There was no notice at the entrance.

You're right Trees, this isn't a rider issue, because the track was clearly un-raceable. It was the arrogant attitude of a senior official after the call-off, and none of the promotion knowing what we had to do with our tickets if we wanted a refund. I quite believe that King's Lynn didn't want to ride, but I can't honestly believe Leicester wanted to either, so there's little point at pointing the finger at just King's Lynn.
