Buxton 10 Stoke 24 --sun May 4th
Mimmo replied to Main Man's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Jim. In the report that 'Main Man' has posted, it clearly says David Holt scored 6+1 from 4-rides, which was my query, as I wanted clarification that he'd actually only had three rides. So yes that would suggest that our old pal has differing maths qualifications to you and I. However, I suspect he just reported what he was given by whomever that might have been, without checking it. So the original source of information is the one lacking in maths qualifications........I trust it wasn't you All the Best Mike -
Not only do we have the National League meeting to enjoy, but there is a Midland Development League in the 2nd half too. Good to see you posting on the BSF again, your contributions have been missed, as not everybody looks at Facebook. All the best for tonight, and for goodness sake man, put a coat on, you'll catch a death of cold

Although the points scorers have been published for this meeting on the BSPA website, I'm eager to find out the heat details from the meeting. I've made requests on Facebook, but quite honestly find that particular media outlet and complete and utter waste of time, other than for very basic reporting or idle chit chat. PLEASE can anybody help me?

Long Eaton V Belle Vue (mdl) - 3rd May 2014
Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
There's a minor reporting error concerning that match yesterday (i.e. the details on the BSPA website don't quite tally), so I've asked Laurence if he can get an answer on that one for me. As for Stoke v Rye House on Saturday night, I just don't seem to be able to find any heat details at all for that. The referee's result sheet hasn't been put onto the SCB website for that nights NL & MDL meeting either, so I'm at a loss to know why I often have this problem with Stoke (MDL) results, and of course I'm referring to last season in that regard. Hopefully things will improve this year, but thus far not so. -

Favour please Laurence. It says that David Holt scored 6+1 from 4-rides. Do you think you could enquire as to which heat he finished last in please, as the heat details shown, only show him as having taken three rides. Thanks Mike -

Do you have any heat details from those meetings please Laurence, as I can't build up the stats from what you've been given?

Stoke V Kent National Trophy Saturday 03/05/14 At 7.00 Pm
Mimmo replied to Swift Saint's topic in National League Speedway
Hi Malcolm, Well done on getting a good result last night, and pleased to hear that folk were happy with the standard of racing. You mentioned that there would be two matches, and I've found by research that the second was an MDL match against Rye House. Can you, or anybody that was in attendance, please post the result/scorers and heat details please? The results never seem to appear on the clubs website, and it's always so difficult to follow the 'Spitfires' progress. Thanks, and looking forward to my visit next Saturday. -

Here's hoping that you enjoy a good meeting tomorrow along with some nice weather. I have no intention of being drawn into any of the discussions that have taken place over the past few days, but what I will say, is that apart from one exception last year, I've always enjoyed my visits to Loomer Road, and am very much looking forward to making the visit from my Norfolk base next weekend. King's Lynn V Long Eaton (koc) - 30th April
Mimmo replied to Mimmo's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
It was quite a good meeting Martin. Lee Springthorpe was unlucky to be wiped out in Heat 3 and unable to make the re-run, otherwise the result would have been even closer. Our programme described it as a league match, but I'm sure it was a KOC 2nd leg affair wasn't it? -

Many thanks Martin. -
I've been there and tried to hide it for a couple of years which ended in me having a mental breakdown. You've taken the massive step of being open about your problem, so ten out of ten for that. Hang in there mate, you'll come through it. Good luck to you and your family who will be suffering with you. Mike Moseley

Thanks for issuing those changes Laurence, I'll see you at Buxton on Sunday week.

You're quite right Ommer Mon, of course these lads are trying their best, and I for one appreciate their efforts, no matter which club they are riding for. Waco said in his posting this morning, and I quote, "They have to have double headers no one would pay to watch this team alone". I can assure you that your statement is not correct, because although I support the King's Lynn 'Young Stars', I intend going to watch the 'Stags' do their best at Buxton a week on Sunday, because I care about National League racing in general. There has been one or two no-hopers given a meeting or two for Scunthorpe so far, but on the flip side of the coin, there are some kids in the side that show a lot of promise, and given time and experience, they will probably blossom if given the support they need and deserve. It's time for people to stop criticising and show some support instead.

First and foremost I must say that in a couple of previous postings I've made on the BSF, I've been very critical regarding the gentleman behind the microphone (in referee's box), saying things that maybe I shouldn't have done. These were caused by my frustration of not being able to hear what he was saying, when everything else was audible over the PA system. I have to say here and now, that yesterday, everything was spot on, but what really impressed me was the fact that the announcer, whose name I don't know, requested that I go up into the box to speak with him, to see if he'd been any clearer. He didn't have to do that, and the fact that he did, has earned my utmost respect and admiration. You're a true gentleman sir, and I thank you very much indeed. As for the debates going on about the meeting, I can see both sides of the story, so will comment no further other than to say that King's Lynn showed you enough respect by not letting off the gas, which would suggest that they honoured the Scunthorpe efforts. I can't understand why Sam Chapman is being shown in the 'ALSO RODE' section of the stats on page 5 of the programme rather than the 'GUESTS' section, as at no time has the rider been declared in the clubs septet.
