  1. Hi Laurence, Just a small point, but we might as well do the guy justice IF his name is being spelt wrong. I see in the SS line-up's, and indeed the report Bryn kindly issued for us, it shows a King's Lynn rider as being Alex Wright, but isn't his name really ALEC? Cheers Mike Can I throw another one at you please? Shouldn't it be Ryan Kinsley rather than Ryan Kingsley?

  3. Thanks Laurence, This is the type of service that us supporters of junior racing want, not the rubbish that goes on Facebook. Keep it up mate, which I know you will, because you like myself and PhilK care about peoples wishes.
  4. As a 100% neutral visiting from King's Lynn, I thought this was an absolute humdinger of a meeting, with some of the best racing I've seen in years. The track and facilities in general are a credit to Rob Godfrey and his team, and I have nothing but admiration for everything that has happened over the years at the Eddie Wright Raceway. I've still got to complain about the public announcements though, because they are barely audible. It's not the tannoy at fault, as when the pre-meeting radio is being played through it, there are no problems. When the guy on the centre-green, who incidentally is hilarious (is it Me Godfrey?) is doing his bit, once again no problems. However, whoever is sitting in the announcers box must be waving the microphone around all the time, and he really does need to learn how to announce properly. I'm sorry sir, whoever you are, and I don't mean to insult you, but it's almost impossible to hear you when you give race times in particular. As for the unsavoury incident, and once again as I said from a neutral point of view, my opinion, and it is only my own opinion, is that Josh Auty was completely to blame for the crash, that I have no doubt whatsoever. However, Richard Hall should never have acted in the way that he did, and should now have the book thrown at him.....BIG TIME.
  5. Well done 'Young Stars', you did what you needed to in a very workman like way. Mr Cockle looked a lot hungrier than I've seen him for a long time....good stuff!! Keep fighting 'Stags', the only way is up, and that the majority of you will certainly do. Very enjoyable and watchable meeting, so well done to both sides.
  6. Any idea what the weather is like Rob, as it's pouring with rain in my neck of the woods?

  8. Many thanks to Bryn for these heat details. I just wish people would realise that not everybody looks at Facebook. 1. Portwood, Wright, Webster, Culpitt (F) 67.03 (2-4) (2-4) 2. Kirby, MacDonald, Woods, Kinsley. 66.37 (3-3) (5-7) 3. MacDonald, Wright, Woods, Culpitt (F). 65.31 (2-4) (7-11) 4. Portwood, Kinsley, Webster, Kirby (FX) Awarded (2-4) (9-15)
  9. Do you have the important (for my record compiling) heat details please mate?
  10. Just seen on the BSPA website that the meeting is off, so I can only assume it must be raining, although I've not heard anything officially. It's now official - called off due to inclement weather.
  11. Hi Alan, I don't have a clue what 'Tweeting' is all about, or how I can check out your tweets (I don't have a modern mobile phone), is it something that I can do through my PC? The reason I ask is because whilst I attended yesterday's meeting, I got so fed up with not being able to hear the dreadful PA system (it never improves from year to year) I left the meeting quite a few races before the end. I don't know who the announcer was (I've heard him before), but he was just inaudible for most of the time(sounds as though he's taking the mic away from his mouth whilst giving results). It was therefore extremely difficult to follow who was in what races, and at times what race was even being run. I spoke to a number of people around the stadium to see if they could help me, some like me, didn't have a clue what was happening, whilst others had differing views as to who had ridden etc. I go to a lot of the British Youth Championship meetings, and have never experienced these problems before, and it was purely down to the announcer and tannoy. What I did see, I must say I enjoyed the racing, and there really are some terrific prospects for the future out there. Considering we had that very heavy hail storm prior to proceedings, I thought the lads went about their task magnificently. The stadium and track as always was a credit to all and sundry, but if you can't hear what's going on properly, it spoils the occasion. I still don't know if there were any riders changes in either the 250cc or 150cc class or indeed the heat results. I don't have a clue what the total points scored by any of the riders in any of the classes were either, so if there is a way I can obtain your detailed tweets, I'd be much obliged if you could advise me. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I just hope they've either fixed the tannoy or found a better announcer by the next time I visit what is one of my favourite speedway venues in a few weeks time. Having just checked the Scunthorpe website, there is a good report and results service on there, for which I'm grateful in this particular case. It may be 100% accurate, or maybe only 99% accurate, that I don't know for sure, but I do know that all those that I spoke to had Alex Wilson as finishing last in Heat 2, something that I'd also recorded in my programme, but the website would suggest otherwise. So unless the referees programme ever appears, I guess I'll never know what really happened that afternoon. Anyway, thanks to whoever has put the report on the website, it's at least confirmed some of my scores, if not all.
  12. Thanks a lot for that wayne b. I've got into the habit of looking on the BSF for my information, and the thought of checking the website you've highlighted never crossed my mind....DOH!! Very grateful, and just hope the poor weather forecast proves to be wrong, and that it gets well attended. Regards Mike
  13. With just a couple of days to go before the opening round of this always entertaining tournament, there seems to be no publicity being given about it. Am I the only member of the paying public that is attending? Does anyone (Phil or Neil) have confirmation of the line-ups, and presumablyit's still scheduled to take place at Scunthorpe. Anyone that officially knows the answers.......HELP......please?
  14. I ALWAYS without fail buy a programme, no matter what the cost, but because I like to keep them neat and tidy, that's the reason I always print a racecard, in case I make a mess of things at the meeting. I know for a fact that is the case with a lot of people, but of course appreciate that doesn't apply to everyone.
  15. When I attempt to write a riders name in the score-chart, a message comes up telling me that the 'Protected cells can not be modified', is there a way round that please?
  16. I can understand Stoke recording 60.5 in their official records, as this was timed at a higher level of racing (i.e. 2nd tier). I can't understand the reason for showing separate records for National & Conference Leagues, as they are one and the same thing (i.e. 3rdtier), so IMO, the listing of Richie Worrall doesn't justify being shown.
  17. Do you know when that one was set please, as I obviously have missed it?

  20. Yeah mate, my comment was by no means knocking him for riding in the MDL, far from it. I was really just emphasising (is that the correct spelling, as it doesn't look right?) what a loyal rider they would be taking on with someone like Adam. As all teams apart from Scunthorpe now appear to be full, that would seem to be his only immediate opportunity. Yes and as you are suggesting, doors could open for him with clubs for numerous reasons, but hopefully not through injuries.
  21. What if we don't use Facebook????? Seriously though, with him living locally, he could possibly represent King's Lynn in MDL. This of course isn't really a forward step, and who knows, maybe Scunthorpe might be an option. I hope somebody gives the lad a chance as a reward for the loyalty he showed to Kent last year, riding in a total of 27-meetings. Equal most of any rider in the team. Riders like that are a godsend, and it's a shame there aren't a great deal more like him.......well there aare.....but you know what I mean.
  22. Tommy Fenwick has already told me that he doesn't intend racing this year, which is a shame to honest.
