  1. Fair enough, maybe that was by the pit gate, but as I said, I was in front of Adam Roynon where is was very quiet.
  2. I was stood right in front of Adam, and didn't hear any abuse, in fact if anything it was the opposite, and very quiet in fear of what might of happened to him. So Mr S1, please don't make statements like that which you well know aren't true, we're all batting for the same side here in the love of our sport, and no real supporter wants to see any rider get hurt, no matter who he is.
  3. As a neutral, it really didn't matter to me one way or the other who won, as I have friends in both camps, and it's such a terrible shame that some people have posted inaccurate and bitter statements on Facebook. Adam Roynon is one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet in speedway, and a terrific talent. However, with regards to Heat 15, I would urge those people that are slagging Stefan Nielsen off to obtain a copy of the DVD, then you'll change your minds about who was to blame for the accident. Thankfully both riders escaped without crippling or life threatening injuries, which is the main thing all supporters should be grateful for, whether you be from Dudley or Mildenhall, although I understand Adam has a possible broken ankle or leg. Quite why the group of Dudley fans that left the stadium prior to the re-run of Heat 15, felt the need to throw abuse (two fingers and swearing) at the man that was running the track shop, beggars belief, as he was only sitting doing his job, and this doesn't paint a good picture of a certain section of the clubs fans, and I can only assume that they may have been the same people that caused problems that I read about at Mildenhall a few weeks ago. On the other side of the coin, a big pat on the back to those Dudley fans that I witnessed who went up to some of the female Mildenhall officials and congraulated them by means of a hug and kiss. So, in conclusion, congratulations to both Dudley and Mildenhall for providing such entertainment throughout 2012, culminating in them both reaching the finals of the National League Play-Off's and KOC Cup. Congratulations also to Keith 'Buster' Chapman, who worked absolute miracles to provide a track for both teams to ply their trade on, I can't think of many that could have achieved that feat.
  4. National League racing is brilliant, well a large percentage of it is. Try and make the journey, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
  5. It did say on the Mildenhall website that the rain-off tickets could NOT be used even prior to the fixture being switched to King's Lynn. Whether that is a legally binding action I'm not sure, because it's not a BSPA shared event, and this meeting falls into the category of the written rain-off rules in the programme. I guess they'll have to be used next Wednesday for the rearranged meeting against Stoke......or will they? The Mildenhall site also said that no further dates were available at West Row, so did that mean that as there's a fixture next week, the meeting against Dudley couldn't be held there too? Anyway forgetting all that, lets hope for a good Fen Tigers fight back tonight, and as they are more local to me than Dudley, I hope they pull off what looks to be the near impossible. The clashes between Adam Roynon and the Stefan Nielsen/Jason Garrity duo should be something a little bit special. The weather 13-miles from the track is just holding in there. It's quite foggy at times with the occasional light drizzle thrown in, but it doesn't look that threatening, just make sure you wear some very warm clothes. For the benefit of any KIng's Lynn fans that are coming, I'm told that there will be a fully stocked shop of both 'Fen Tigers' and 'Stars' merchandise on sale, along with all the general speedway stuff such as books and 2013 Calendars, ready for your Christmas stocking fillers.
  6. The Mildenhall website says that they have no more dates available to them at West Row, so does this mean the fixture against Stoke on the 31st October, will also take place at the Norfolk Arena?
  7. I see the Mildenhall website says that we can't use our rain-off tickets from last Sunday for the meeting against Dudley this coming Wednesday. Can anybody in an official capacity from the club explain why please, when your website says "Normal Admission Prices Apply". Also your programme says that the ticket can be used at any of the next 3 home meetings (of which this is one) excluding BSPA shared events. Surely this fixture doesn't fall into that category does it? If it doesn't, then why are you not abiding by the rules?
  8. You're quite right TMW, it was forecast and it did happen, so why don't officials take heed of this sort of thing at all meetings when there is the probability of rain. Last Sunday at Mildenhall just to quote one case, rain was forecast, and one could see by looking at the sky that it wasn't far away, yet still a parade was held instead of getting straight into racing? In this particular case, they probably wouldn't have got through to complete 12-heats, so it would still have been abandoned, but there again they might. Why do we really need rider parades, because a lot of the time, the riders have their helmets on away, surely a quick circuit on the parade truck would suffice. Just my opinion, and as normal, I'm probably in the minority....oh dear!!
  9. No where enough sadly, which is such a shame, because the standard of racing is generally very entertaining, and worthy of public support.
  10. Tapes up at 7.45pm on the dot and meeting closed at 9.00pm........now that's the way to run a speedway meeting in my opinion. Considering it was a bottom of the league clash on what was a fairly cold night, there was some really entertaining racing, with Heat 14 being the best race of the meeting. Credit to Buxton for making a real fight of it, especially as Adam McKinna suffered a breakdown (vehicle, not him) en-route, and had to be replaced by local junior Adam Portwood, who quite understandfailedably failed to score. What a pity there weren't more people in attendance to watch proceedings. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYBODY involved at King's Lynn in keeping the National League team running again in 2012, which has produced as much entertainment if not more than the Elite League side. Thanks also to all the other clubs that have kept operating in this league, which is vital to British youngsters if they are to have any chance of progressing up the ladder to stardom.
  11. WEDNESDAY 10th October 2012 King's Lynn v Rye House (AJL) KING'S LYNN 16 1. Andy Mountain (2,3) = 5 2. Connor Mountain (0,2*,3) = 5+1 3. 12. Like you Ken, I had the wasted journey, in my case from Norfolk, which this season has hit the pocket extremely hard with the ever rising fuel costs. I came through some torrential rain enroute, and should have turned back, but you always hope it's not going to move up the road with you. Very disappointing, especially as I can't get back next week, but Uncle Len says I can use the rain-off tickets for the 'Ace of Herts' meeting, not that I'm really interested in that particular fixture, but guess I'll be there. Now hoping Mildenhall goes ahead this afternoon.
  13. It's the biggest crowd I ever recall for a National League match at the Norfolk Arena.
  14. In answer to Islander15, Adam Ellis was born in Marmande, France on the 21st March 1996. Only one way to describe tonights meeeting.....AWESOME!! Nothing more one can say really.
  15. Thanks to both Vog and Sarah for posting what you have, and whilst it helps, it doesn't fully satisfy my wish. There must be someone that knows exactly how many rides each rider took, otherwise Sarah wouldn't have been able give the excellent report that she has. HELP PLEASE!!!
  16. Is there anybody that would kindly be prepared to either post the heat details from this meeting that was staged on Saturday 15th September, or alternatively confirm how many rides each rider took from both sides. Thanks in anticipation Mike
  17. DOH, how on earth could I have missed that one, like you I often speak to George, and was doing so only last Sunday. Could it be that I've developed the Bryn disease.....AGE!!
  18. Hello Martin, Nice to hear from you mate. The 'Stars' run their final meeting this coming Monday against Coventry. Wednesday 26th September will be the Ashley Jones Memorial meeting, which I'm led to understand will primarily be a Premier League line-up, which should be well worth supporting. As for me going to Buxton on the 3rd October, we'll I'd have little else to do but be strayed by tarts, as the Young Stars are at home to Stoke that evening. Haha, Malcolm Vasey or 'Bakewell Tarts' is a bit of a no brainer isn't it, Derbyshire would have to win the day on that one, unless the so called tarts also have grey ponytails. We are at Buxton on the 7th October, and sadly for the first time ever, as far as I can remember, I've got to miss a Boston/King's Lynn meeting at one of my favourite venues. I did make the journey for the original staging date, which as you know was rained-off, even though a couple of miles down the road in Buxton Park, me and the guvnor had a picnic, and a ride on a silly little train (The Butterscotch Ice Cream from the pavillion was lovely though). We're off to Tenerife straight after the Young Stars meeting this Wednesday, well down to Gatwick anyway, and don't get back until 4.00am on the day of the Buxton meeting. So alas, it'll be a case of driving back to Heacham if I can keep awake, stop off and get a few groceries (my Bakewell Tarts will have gone off by then), and at lunchtime I'll pop along to the Southern Track Riders meeting. Not my preferred choice, but better than nothing after spending a fortnight and a few days without it....speedway that is Hope you, Chris and the family are well. Take Care Mike
  19. To the best of my knowledge, the remaining King's Lynn 'Young Stars' fixtures looks like this............if it doesn't rain.....maybe!! Wednesday 19th September at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Isle of Wight (NL) Wednesday 3rd October at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Stoke (NL) Sunday 7th October at 3.00pm: Buxton v King's Lynn (NL) Wednesday 10th October at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Rye House (NL) + King's Lynn v Rye House (AJL) Wednesday 17th October at 7.30pm: King's Lynn v Buxton (NL). So whilst the senior team will have been put to bed for another year, there is still plenty of excitement and entertainment to come at the Norfolk Arena before we revert to watching DVD's in front of the fire during those cold and dark evenings. For the purist the Norfolk Arena will also be hosting Southern Track Riders meetings on Sunday 7th October (Midday) and Saturday 20th October (5.00pm), whilst the Dragons Speedway Club will be running meetings on Sunday 28th October (11.00am) and Saturday 10th November (4.00pm). Although raced on a purely amateur basis, these meetings are completely FREE OF CHARGE to enter, with a programme (not just a racesheet) on offer for just £1. On most occasions, you'll find riders from the National League competing, such as the likes of Lewis Kerr, Tom Stokes and so on, and with around 40-plus races each meeting, how can you afford to not attend some of them.
  20. Has there been any news on the condition of Tom Brennan following his trip to hospital on Sunday? Do hope all is okay.
  21. Oh deer, Eye'm afrayed eye did spott the 'Looking' errer, but ittt waz two laight tow doo anyfing abowt itt. Nite, Nite xx
  22. FANTASTIC JOURNEY (KIng's Lynn to Iwade in under 2.5 hours), FANTASTIC WEATHER and a FANTASTIC SHOW PUT ON BY THE KIDS OF TOMORROW. FREE PARKING, FREE SEATING IN EITHER OF THE HOME STRAIGHT GRANDSTANDS THIRTEEN RAFFLE PRIZES, A FREE SHOW OF SPEEDWAY BIKES AND RACEJACKETS FROM DAYS GONE-BY and all for jusy £5 plus £1 a full coloured programme. Where else can you get such value for money (the meeting consisted of 34 races). On top of all that, there was a lovely vegetable garden that contained runner beans and potatoes around the referee's box. Can you believe a referee (Christina Turnbull) who showed commonsense by allowing riders back into re-runs that had fallen. An announcer that looked completely disorientated because he'd had to get out of bed the wrong side of lunch time. A Peterborough fan (SM) wandering around looking for any souvenirs (IS THAT SPELT CORRECTLY??) he could acquire, and lokking particularly pleased with a framed photo. Yep, all that for a fiver!! Suppose I'd better give you the results. 500cc CHAMPIONSHIP Adam Ellis (3-3-3-EF) = 9 Danno Verge (3-3-3-2) = 11 Jack Jones (0-1-0-0) = 1 Ben Harrison (1-EF-0-2) = 3 Connor Mountain (2-2-2-1) = 7 Josh Bailey (2-2-1-1) = 6 Nathan Greaves (2-3-EF-2) = 7 Daniel Phillips (1-1-3-3) = 8 FINAL: Nathan Greaves, Adam Ellis, Daniel Phillips, Danno Verge 250cc BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP Nathan Greaves (3-3-3-3) = 12 Reece Downes (2-3-3-3) = 11 Saul Bulley (0-1-0-2) = 3 Mitchell Beckett (0-2-2-2) = 6 Kelsey Dugard (1-F-2-3) = 6 Lewis Whitmore (1-2-1-2) = 6 FINAL: Nathan Greaves, Reece Downes, Kelsey Dugard, Mitchell Beckett 125cc SUPPORT RACES Henry Atkins (3-D-2-2) = 7 Saul Bulley (EF) = 0 Jamie Halder (1-1-2-2) = 6 Daniel Gilkes (2-3-3-3) = 11 Chad Wirtzfeld (1-2-1-1) = 5 Luke Woodhull (2-0-F-3) = 5 Tom Brennan (3-FD) = 3 Best wishes to Tom who was taken to hospital, hope your injuries are not serious. Fantastic Sittingbourne (Iwade), brilliant day out.
  23. As Main Man said, a young Aussie who was born on the 9th September 1993. I see there is a Kieran Douglas around too, but don't don't if he's related to Ryan or not.
  24. The meeting has been given some publicity under its correct title of 'British Youth Championship'. Calling it the Sittingbourne Youth Championship is nowhere near to being what it is, so no wonder you can't find anything about it. I wonder if the local press has given it any publicity, because it's a tournament worthy of any speedway enthusiasts interest and support, these lads are our future. The weather forecast looks to be on our side, so I hope you enjoy your visit to the Iwade(Sittingbourne) venue Jonny the spud, it'll be a good un.
  25. Does anybody have the scorers from the Northern Junior League Riders' Championship that followed the meeting against Berwick please?
