  1. Bomber went under Nicholls, Nicholls came back up the inside and gave Bomber a bit of a nudge and brought him off (or how I saw it anyway) Not dirty and not intentional. Just unlucky IMO.
  2. (typed before final) Course it was fair. 91 points, does it matter how they were scored? Either way you do it, it will be "but Bomber's won one" or Nicholls has finished in (insert whatever number it is here) finals etc. Agree though, whichever rider missed out would have got a wildcard, surely. Harris will get one no problem even if only on nationality. Bet he was gutted about the run-off though, Nicholls gave him a right nudge, although don't think for a minute it was intentional. (typed after final) Nice one AJ! Great night and brilliant final. Deserved the win IMO. Will get a wildcard no problem.
  3. Heat 2 = That will be an absolute beauty judging by the standard of riders and the prize that awaits the winner.
  4. The man's a legend. Nicki gates about a week in front of his opponents and Millard shouts in disbelief "and look at Nicki stuck in last place", to which Kelvin replies, "no he's not, he's in front!". As if that wasn't enough, Millard continues as if his first comment was that Nicki made an awesome start and was wiping the floor with the other 3! My other favourite was, 1st bend of one race, "and if it stays like this, Nicki Pedersen will be world champion" all because Leigh was about a wheel behind! The usuals were in there aswell, the man from Mildura, like a knife through butter, Matej Zagar 5 times Slovenian champion etc
  5. Thought Scott rode brilliantly last night and I'm yet another who thought he'd come last in the final so I was pleased when he came second only to the best in the world. Well done Scott
  6. He might not be everyone's cup of tea, but anybody with half a brain cell can see that he has been the best this season. Every round he has shown he's a great rider with the consistency to go for gold and he's done it. Didn't used to like him very much but he's won me over with his professionalism, better attitude and his riding which is better than ever and he might throw the odd wobbly when things don't go his way, but it just shows his passion and we love him for it Nicki Pedersen - 2007 world champion, and worthy of it. Simply the best.
  7. I actually agree with most of this bit I've quoted. Plus with more Slovenian interest now and a GP being held there regularly Zagar will add interest for the locals so no doubt he'll get a nomination again.
  8. My opinion for what it's worth.. Gollob deserved that victory, home track or not he proved he is still one of the best. That move in the final was an absolute beauty, how he pulled it off is beyond me I think it's safe to say Nicki now has that title wrapped up, basically he needs to not score and Leigh to have 2 awesome rounds to get in front. Realistically, it won't happen will it. Credit where it's due, he has been head and shoulders above everyone else this year. As for the track, arguably the best track in the world and it was sad to see it so slick and as someone else mentioned, only Gollob knowing how to move off the one racing line. I think some are dressing this up too much, it really was not a good GP, and it was poor by Bydgoszcz standards. The Brits.. well. If it was Bomber's first visit then I take my hat off to the performance on a night when many riders were on form. As for Scott, what was Havvy rambling on about, couldn't find a set-up? Everyone else managed it. Poor excuse. Expected more. As much as I hope he does it, he will be lucky to finish in the top 8 IMO. Overall I think it was a poor GP and god knows who let the track get that slick. Gollob deserved the win and Nicki has deserved to pull in front by such a margin.
  9. Hope Bomber and Scott both have a good round, Scott needs to keep scoring just to make sure he's in that top 8 come the end of the season and Bomber I just want to have a good round because his form seems to have slipped a bit lately although in fairness the tracks haven't suited him as much in the last few GPs (seem to be very slick whereas he could do what he wanted and pass anybody on Cardiff). Gollob, shock horror, will have a good round but I think this time he'll come 2nd best to Leigh Adams. Nicki 3rd and then possibly someone such as Jagus as being Polish, he probably knows this track well (correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he finish 3rd here last season as the wildcard?). Hope it's a better meeting than the last few rounds though, need some proper racing but Bydgoszcz springs to mind as normally producing that.
  10. I said the same, classic Millard Agree 100%. It's completely different when a rider casually slides off, hardly touches the fence, his bikes a yard or so away from him and he's just sat there looking for a red light, but it just wasn't the case in that incident at all!
  11. He might not deserve to be there but given an oppurtunity to ride in the GPs, which could gain him more sponsorship etc, he's hardly going to turn it down. It's down to the FIM/BSI (can't remember which..) and they decided to put him back in the series. The fact he said he didn't deserve to be there will be the reason he didn't go through the qualifiers, surely, but he got a wildcard, which he accepted (probably for the reasons I mentioned above). Yes I would agree with that. Personally, unless Scott finishes inside the top 8 this year, I do not think he should be given a nomination for next year, simply because if he can't do it this year, that should, IMO, be enough proof that he just can't. But, as Schumi says, it's down to nationality, whether that's right or wrong (wrong if you ask me, any rider who does not finish in the top 8 should get into the next year's series on merit, so qualifying, and if we end up with no Brits then they aren't good enough to be there obviously, but of course that's not convenient for the FIM as we have a British GP ) it's going to happen.
  12. Hilarious. So were you at these 2 meetings you mention to see how poorly he rode?
  13. Sounds the same but fair point, I assume he'd combined the 2 lol
  14. And Lee/Leigh Nicholls! Edit - youngy105 beat me to it on the other thread http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...18entry999118
  15. Disappointment at the back.. (for argument's sake) Chris Harris has got work to do.. dong-dong battle.. Jason Crump born in Bristol.. the man from Mildura.. and as already mentioned, Thriller in Malilla Our Millard eh, I think he fitted them all in a good few times last night. Complain all you like and call for him to be sacked or whatever else, but boring GPs and not much to shout about makes me think, how bored would I be without him
  16. Right, full respect to Nicki first of all as he is a class above everyone in the GPs this year.. but come on Nicki, Hans rode hard but fairly IMO and beat you fair and square! And also, it's not as if Nicki EVER rides anyone to the fence!? Nicki spit the dummy out unnecessarily tonight!
  17. Did Laukkanen finish 6th in the qualifiers? Just wondering because, PK is there obviously because he finished 4th and missed out on a wildcard, Harris got a wildcard, so was Kaj after Bomber? Just wondering how they work out who's a reserve Hope he's on the pace, then again it won't take much to better the racing at Prague last time.
  18. You know how a lot feel seeing your posts then tbh. and Pollyanna.. you weren't the only one who thought it was Andersen's year. Would say next year but that's Bomber's IMO, he's only been warming up this year hehe
  19. Jesus wept, he was Polish last week For me, it'd be ideal if Nicki didn't have a very good round, Adams and Hancock both got to the final with Crump (if fit) and another.. Bomber would be nice and although Nicki would still be in front that would close the gap up a bit.. 4 rounds after this one can be a long time so I'd love it if there was still a few riders who could take the title in Germany. Realistically, Nicki will probably go and get 15+ and extend his lead over Leigh Adams by even more making it even more likely Nicki will end up champion
  20. Another point is that it's a well known fact Gollob rides well in Poland anyway, nothing to do with machinery, just talent and track knowledge. I actually agree with this post though, Gollob surely would have done better on a properly prepared track and Stekkers should stop being so bitter.
