  1. BSI could possibly have booked the Millenium Stadium for March/April 2008 in readiness for the event before the German GP was announced, but we'll have to wait for confirmation of that. In some ways it would make more sense to stage Cardiff earlier or later in the year because the unpredictable weather isn't a concern with the sliding roof. I do however totally agree that the 'Cardiff Experience' just wouldn't be the same in colder months.
  2. Just for the record, does anyone know Martyn's d.o.b. too?
  3. I'm not sure it's any help, but his brother Dave, was born in Ashford.
  4. Time? You've had 800 years, how much more do you want? And I'm still grateful to you for scanning a couple of them in my hour of need.
  5. Did I say they were league matches mate? Seriously though, they were official meetings.
  6. I think he may also have had two outings for Hackney in 1981.
  7. No Gem, it actually moves Nicholls two places up in the rankings - the ol' mongol will have a theory nonetheless.
  8. As Steve has said, they certainly did - in fact in 98 meetings collectively.
  9. Steve, I really do appreciate that - many, many thanks mate, and I really hope to see you at Newport on Sunday.
  10. We had an extremely powerful spearhead with Rumsey and Koppe, backed up solidly by Banks, Ferreira, Clifton, Shilleto and Piddock, but the key was Captain Kennett. We mustn't however forget the contributions made by the likes of Spelta and Hole as back-up and Maurice Morley can also take some of the credit as team manager. In a nutshell, a really solid team which won one of the closest League Championships ever - thanks for the memories guys - each and every one of you.
  11. Bitter sweet memories to be honest - that image of the team parading the trophy around Kingsmead with a photograph of the late Graham Banks will forever remain in my memory!!!
  12. Glad to help with the programmes Iris, but no can do with marbles.
  13. Superb news, any idea when the fixture list will be published?
  14. I'd have been gutted if I had a hotel booked, but trust you had a good time anyway Steve - are you going to try your luck this Sunday, because I think I may owe you a beer!!! Thanks again for the results, it really is appreciated - erm , you haven't got '74 and '75 both H and A v Eastbourne have you please?
  15. If he has, he's only got himself to blame - he was given a helmet in Stockholm.
  16. Are you sure it's flu he's got and not hallucinations?
  17. I had one of those too - I got the message the meeting was off as we were going over the bridge!! Anyway, thanks once again Steve I really do appreciate it. Pushing my luck now, but have you got dates and scorers from 1973 KOC matches H & A v Eastbourne and H & A v Long Eaton please?
  18. Iris (you old stirrer you ) Any chance of posting any fixtures announced for Denmark/Germany for Sunday, 15th July please mate?
  19. This guy is good isn't he? Steve so far you have filled many few holes in my records - don't suppose you can help with the 1983 KO Cup clashes between Canterbury and Exeter can you?
  20. I'd certainly second that, and not as expensive as people would have you believe - a truely lovely city. And not a million miles from Bajen Speedway I believe.
  21. I suppose you think that's funny. And many thanks again Steve (can I call you the oracle?)
  22. You're 'avin a larf mate - you mean the same Middlo who rode round Kingmead with the Leo Sayer hair is gonna be 50!!! You sure mate?
  23. The night you refer to (19/8/1972) was Gary's third match. He made his debut at Birmingham on the 7th.
