  1. Looking at the other fixtures that night, if I couldn’t get to the NSS I’d stay home and watch the tele.
  2. Steve’s replacements have so far averaged 5.00 so it’s down on his start average of 6.77. In his two competed meetings Steve averaged 8.00 but this isn’t really indicative of his expected season long form as this was against the best team in the league.
  3. That look was carried over from the refs blunder in Ht 13. It’s still there now. Unbelievable.
  4. The problem is as I’ve said before, people don’t like speedway. Belle Vue have tried everything under the sun over the last decade or so but to no avail. A nationwide promotional push might help but I can’t see it happening. If you need an indicator of how difficult it is to pull punters in just think of your circle of friends be it 20, 50, 100 or more, then try and coax them along and then see how many out of those that actually come, return on a regular basis. This is friends asking friends not just some ad in the paper so the chance of success are far greater. See how it goes and report back.
  5. UK gating championship due to its location. Might as well do flying laps. Zzzzzzzz
  6. You need to check the meaning of the word rarely in the dictionary you dense tw@£. Do you even follow The Aces?
  7. If we were talking the away leg then Klindt would be fine due to his gating but at the NSS he will be picked off for fun. After all the calls to pick Auty he’ll probably pick him at Wolves lol. Aces rarely do well in two leg ties as Wolves just ramp up their already massive home track advantage. If it’s dry, dusty and difficult to pass they will likely win today. If we have a more normal circuit then the FTG Wolves will make for an entertaining meeting, especially for super seven ride Dan. Oh no he can’t now after the latest rule change.
  8. The big problem with speedway and it’s difficult for us to understand is that people don’t like speedway. We’ve all had the “is that still going” chat and even with that they don’t come again. Similarly I have mates that I keep asking to come along without success. Belle Vue have done school visits, work visits, radio adverts, city wide posters, been on both local evening news channels, been on Sky, ran cheap entrance meetings both Aces and Colts, we’ve been in shops, we’ve had posters for fans to give out, the list goes on and on but people just look and think it’s not for them. The demographic of fans is and has always been the most precarious as once money gets tight then speedway or similar is the first to go. Multi channel tv and the screen society has diverted their attention way from a night at the speedway. Dont get me wrong though the powers that be have done a great job of turning away fans, a mind boggling achievement in my eyes. 2000-3000 crowds are still possible as we had only two decades or so ago, if the current group of promoters stop being dicks.
  9. You just need to get Ronnie Allen back in the box.
  10. Heh heh, I think for a laugh heh heh if he falls off and goes to the medical staff heh heh to get signed out of the meeting heh heh they should refuse heh heh.

  12. I couldn’t work out why they changed the rule from 4h + 4a to rolling averages. Looking at the latest set of averages the only real big change is super seven ride Dan has been moved up from reserve. I think it makes us weaker - which is probably the point.
  13. Great match again with plenty of exciting heats and all run in a quick and efficient manner. I handed in my form to join the new supporters club, sounds good. The seven day thing was implemented last year just to have another pop at The Aces. Even though it’s now in the rule book it wont be used, well not until another pop is required.

  15. Different to the speedwaygb website, which is odd.
  16. Excellent meeting with plenty to entertain, especially in the second part. Some real close encounter racing with skilful control on display. Love The Colts, if you’ve not been, go.
  17. Whilst I know I’ll be accused of posting a wind up again, I’d just like to say I’m sorry to here that the track was gate & go again, I’m glad to see PK bolster the side in place of Holder as the score would have been worse and I still think a full strength Aces team would have won last week in much the same way as the Swindon full strength team did.
  18. Like Wednesday another fabulous show by The Aces but this time the stand ins did just enough to get the win. Very optimistic about this side should we ever get back to full strength. Poole were as expected apart from the poles, if they don’t do it at the NSS then they’re not going to do it elsewhere which is a concern for Middlo. No surprise to see PK top scoring with three wins. It’s typical of Belle Vues luck to meet Poole when they are bolstered by his inclusion. They will miss his once Holder comes back. Racing wise was not up to the usual standard with only eight or nine races of note the pick being Bjerre & Woryna passing and re passing, the blanket race of Ht9 or the awesome Ht12. Cook repass of Kurtz for the 5-1 was good to watch too. I’d happily watch it again when the dvd comes out as it would be worth it just to see how Max avoided carnage following Josh’s Poole type move. Cracking meeting and a real tonic in every sense after last weeks fair.
  19. Last person going on about Craig Cooks lack of natural ability was Craig Cook but what does he know.
  20. Difficult to judge about PK but I’d be surprised if he outscored what Holder would have done. Chris loves the NSS and it’s common knowledge he wanted to come here (get in line), well after joining up with his brother at Somerset. It was put to Mark at the dinner dance to give him a wide berth as to us he just wasn’t a “Belle Vue” type. Probably come back to bite us on the arse come play off time. Still win or lose we can have a laugh in the pits.
  21. Agreed. I think you guys should stand up for your right to be stupid.
