  1. It’s amazing that when Ipswich needed to sign riders last season “they tried everything but just couldn’t get anyone in”, yet other teams this year “could have built a team as good as the witches but choose not to”. The biased nonsense from the witches trolls is what winds fans up, not the excellent performance of their team.
  2. I apologise unreservedly. I happen to believe you do report accurately on the meetings but the report was at odds with what was being said by witches fans ie bends 3&4. Sorry again.
  3. I mentioned this a few years back and it was taken as a swipe at the updates site when it wasn’t. Why don’t they detail the racing on 3 & 4. Almost all heats read, FTG or a pass on bend 2 lap 1. It does a disservice to the improved track if the exciting bits are being brushed over. I travel the country and on more than one occasion I’ve looked at the description of the racing at nearby tracks and made the decision not to attend. Though it doesn’t get the readership of the updates site, it might be helpful if a fan could give the alternative view of the racing on here.
  4. Yes, we had to endure Jason Crump week on week. You're correct about the racing at times, it was awful and we made our feelings known in no uncertain terms. We ended up with the NSS so my advice to those at gate ‘n’ go tracks is keep on at your management and get them to produce a race track instead. You’ll love it.
  5. Problem is, Ipswich are the only club able to afford a GP exiled Russian. It’s been tried by others without that financial clout but didn’t last. Very gate ‘n’ go again. Once the jostling for position from the gate and around turns one & two were out of the way there was little of interest. I didn’t think it possible but they seem to have made it more gate ‘n’ go than before, must be their preference and I’m glad the witches fans get to watch it.
  6. Abysmal, that’s weird. Last season and 2022, only two teams had a better away record and 2023 we were the best away team. Even in this years qualifiers we’ve won one and had this narrow loss. The majority of the league could only dream of being so abysmal. Great effort last night and I’ve no problem with hard riding in heat 15. We’ve seen Brady do the same many times, during one of our championship wins being particularly memorable. All The Aces chipping in and not being as reliant on our GP stars as most expected. Good to see Max, Kyle & Sam from the old boys club have a good night.
  7. Very true and very brave of you to point it out on here. Excellent. "STAND UP AND SPEAK UP FOR TRUTH-ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS NOT POPULAR." With some.
  8. All bend 2 except heat 8 which was the only genuine decent race. If you enjoy that kind of meeting, fair play to you. I don’t like seeing things settled after 5-6 seconds.
  9. You mean heat 13. Bend 2 lap 1. Is that all you’ve got? Meanwhile, the witch tracks down his mate…….. Witch: Look, I don’t think I got my point across. It’s the fact that Belle ‘chequebook’ Vue signed a GP rider to gain success. Mate: Wait a minute, the seasons over he could only have ridden 3-4 meetings. Witch: Yes, splashing the cash, can’t stand ‘em. Mate: But Ipswich spent money on 2 GP superstars, one an ex world champion for the WHOLE season. Witch: Ones not a GP star now, that’s how we got him. Mate: You’d be better off focusing on the fact that moneybags Belle Vue cherrypicked their own GP star. How is Max by the way? Witch: They actually signed him on a 4.50 averaged and he blossomed into a GP star whilst with them. Mate: OK bad example, any other GP stars they’ve bought in like you guys? Witch : Well no, they did the same with Brady and Dan Bewley. Mate: Right, sounds like a good way of doing things, if you don’t mind me saying. Witch : I do mind. Mate: You have Tom Brennan, you looked after him from being a youngster. Witch: That was another club. We don’t need to talk about Tom. Mate: I’ve heard of Bewley, how did they get him? Witch: He started with their junior team. Mate: Junior team, what’s that? Witch: Doesn’t matter. Mate: I know about your junior GP. I bet Belle Vue don’t have anything like that. Witch : Look, I said it doesn’t matter. Mate: OK, you’re not even paying attention now anyway, you’re just playing on your phone. Are you trolling the socials again? Witch exits stage left.
  10. Gate ‘n’ go Borefest, just how they like it. Makes Birmingham look like the NSS.
  11. The ONLY top flight club to offer him rides since 2021 and you berate us! Unbelievable.
  12. Something happened around that time to make him available. Can’t think what but it might have made the local news or one of the free newspapers. Wish I could remember. Re Doyle, if I rode for Ipswich I wouldn’t want to rider anywhere else. £££££
  13. Spoken like a true witch. Witch: I’m seething about Belle Vue. Mate: What have they done. Witch: Got someone from outside the sport to demand the rule book is adhered to. Mate: Right! Don’t you think sport should abide by the rule book? Witch : No, we’ve circumvented it many times. Mate: Ok, weird. What’s gone on? Witch: They are signing a new rider. Mate: Who and who have they dropped. Witch: Robert Lambet replaces Max Fricke. Mate: They can’t just drop a rider willy nilly. Witch: Max got injured. Mate: Not too badly I’m guessing from your reaction. Witch: Broken sternum, cracked shoulder blade, bruised lungs, sprained shoulder and concussion. Mate: Wow, how is he now and how’s his family coping? Witch: Don’t care! Mate: Er, really. Was he a weak link in the team, is that why you’re so bothered? Witch: No, he’s their number 1, in fact he’s the second best rider in the entire league. Mate: Right, so his injury replacement has a higher average, I can see why you’re upset. Witch: No, the replacement is nearly a point less. Mate: You do know you’re saying this out loud. I know you like to troll the socials, which isn’t cool by the way but what you’re saying to me is just wrong, very wrong. Witch: Great friend you are, you’re the troll and a prat, you’re just looking for attention, I hate you. Mate exits stage left.
  14. I applaud the Ipswich management on their money saving scheme when replacing a reserve with Birminghams (part time) number one. We are thinking of replacing Tate with Jason Doyle so we can save a fortune next season.
  15. That’s the problem we have with the cheque book clubs and their win at all COSTS mentality. We have a pick system in place for the RS process but that gets unfairly circumnavigated by waving £££££ at a rider, thus making the whole process redundant. The cheque book comes out again to lure a rider who had spent much of the season riding at number one to replace a reserve. To add insult to injury the reserve rider left without a club has to fill the void left my the missing number one. When we released Tom to Birmingham to aid their team building on their step up, we never imagined he’d end up being poached by a money club. To be honest we shared the opinion of most that Ipswich were perfectly capable of making a strong challenge for gold with their 2024 team (we’ve heard it often enough ffs) but greed takes hold of these kind and it’s an “I’m alright Jack” attitude. An attitude at odds with UK speedway in its current financial state. It beggars belief.
  16. Good call as it keeps it in the family, it’s what we would do. I didn’t know he’d linked up with you guys as I’d forgotten about your junior team, which btw you need commending for. Luke & Freddie are probably on a par around the NSS so it’s nice to stick with one of your own.
  17. 011.4 If riding at #7 a guest from the Rising Star list must be used, their MA must be lower or equivalent to the missing rider. The Rising Star guest must not be in a current Premiership 1-7 Freddy Hodder or Sam McGurk would be the obvious choice should Aston be unavailable.
  18. We had trouble shaking them off last season, being only six up going into heat 13. That was with a championship winning side and not the one we have now which most on here feel is way short of competitive. Kings Lynn meanwhile have gone from a team that languishes at the foot of the table to one bound for the play offs. Given all that it’s too close to call but fingers crossed for an Aces win in another highly entertaining encounter at the NSS.
  19. 1/10th of a JD/ES. Beautiful cross that, I couldn’t miss. 🤑

  21. Belle Vue always take a number 8 if we have to run R/R and there’s plenty of other times we have a Colt along for the ride, usually spannering for an Ace. We did propose several season ago that number 8’s should be standard at all meeting but it was knocked back due to the fact that many top flight clubs don’t engage with the junior process. A number 8 at the meeting link I posted earlier would have meant heat eight going ahead with the full four riders instead of just the three as was the case.
  22. Robert Lambert guested for Sheffield in 2023 as an assessed rider so it must be ok now. Assessed riders do not get the 5% up lift on their home average. Fingers crossed for a big big witches win here.
  23. Here it is. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/23results/ipswich_10.08.23_res.pdf To be fair to Ipswich, there was no rule breaking this time.
  24. Question and Answer Where cheating is concerned Poole make Ipswich look like amateurs.
