Short Track In Spain
DutchGrasstrack replied to a topic in Grasstrack, Sidecar, Short Track and Cycle Speedway
Well what can I say... it was a fantastic event! Great racing and a big crowd, 9000 people according to a press release. Will definitely pop back to Barcelona again next year. -
I was a bit misinformed... it turns out that there are 6 permanent countries (Australia, Denmark, Poland, Russia, Sweden, USA). Each round will have a wildcard. Torun - Latvia Gustrow - Germany Esbjerg - TBA Great Britian will not take part, the pathetic BSPA did once again respond with a 'NO' to One Sport, although manager Alun Rossiter wanted to take part. EDIT: Little piece from the press release: "The second change concerns the participants – national teams. “This year we have 6 permanent participants – these are national teams of Australia, Denmark, Poland, Russia, Sweden and the new one USA which is of course led by Greg Hancock. We will also give one wild card per each round – in Toruń the invitation will be given to Latvia, in Gustrow – Germany and the matter of the last participant of the tournament in Esbjerg will be cleared later. It won’t be definitely the national team of the Great Britain – this year we invited Brits again and, although riders and manager Alun Rossiter would like to start, BSPA has informed us that none of British riders will receive permission for starting in Speedway Best Pairs Cup also this season” – added the representatives of the organizer of SBPC."

Short Track In Spain

Going to Spain this weekend for my first full flattrack meeting. Usually not a big fan of shorttrack/flattrack classes at grasstrack/speedway meetings but this event sounds good, some realy big names in it as well -
Yes that's true. Schlein just missed out on qualifying for the challenge with an 8th place in Daugavpils, and Hall ended up with an 10th place in Zarnovica.

The last 20.000 sold tickets look pretty legit to me, sadly I do not have any info on the first 35.000 tickets. I used my webdeveloper magic to watch the ticket sales every few minutes, based on the available tickets (yes I had nothing to do ). There was no sudden drop in available tickets or something (apart from a 200 VIP ticket drop yesterday afternoon) Let see what happens in the next 24 hours! I can't wait for this GP, will me immense

Yeah the FMN order is quite strange in their documents lol

They do send 1 rider to the U21 Euro's though.

Best Pairs event two will be held in Gustrow on April 11. Should be officially confirmed by One Sport tomorrow but German media already published the news. http://www.ostsee-zeitung.de/Region-Rostock/Guestrow/Sport-Guestrow/Paukenschlag-fuer-Motorsportfans-WM-Rennen-im-April-2015

SGP Challenge will be held in Rybnik on 05.09.2015 -
Yes it will run again, and also three rounds. The tournament starts on March 28 in Torun, the other two dates are TBA. Rumours suggest that Gustrow will run a round in April.

Yeah I think so, believe they signed a two year contract after the first event in 2013. It seems that the story on the German forum about Esbjerg running a SEC round is 'wrong information' (aka not right at all).
