Yes it will run again, and also three rounds. The tournament starts on March 28 in Torun, the other two dates are TBA. Rumours suggest that Gustrow will run a round in April.

Yeah I think so, believe they signed a two year contract after the first event in 2013. It seems that the story on the German forum about Esbjerg running a SEC round is 'wrong information' (aka not right at all).

If a rider qualifies for the U21 championship (FIM) then he can't compete in the SEC (FIM Europe). We saw the same with Smoli last year when he qualified for the Longtrack challenge and therefore he couldn't compete in the SEC round in Denmark. Teams should not be a problem as it doesn't have a qualify system. The manager picks his team and that's it. It's up to the rider if he agrees or not.

Just got the confirmation that the calendar will be published at the beginning of next week, allocations will then be send to the federations as well. The CCP are finalizing the last details this weekend at their meeting. In the mean time FIM Europe published their provisional calendar already on their website.

10 million euros is quoted everywhere in the Dutch press, some even state 10 - 20 million euros. I agree it sounds a bit steep.

The refurbishment is more for the system that, well how can I put this, 'makes the ice'. It's over 40 years old and needs to be replaced and it's not 'allowed' anymore because it's potentional dangerous (some amonia problem). This costs around 10 million euros to replace, plus they lose 200.000 euros every year. The owner can't afford this, and the municipality also has no money for it. They say the owner has to go, for example, to a bank to get the money together, but he doesn't seem to be very interested for that. The ice track will be closed in march 2015, or in 2016.

Contracts have already be signed for 6/7/8 march 2015 so there will be no change of date. March 1st is the end of the speedskating season, so that's why they probably named that date.
