I’ve seen at lot of pigeons get released from PB. One landed in my garden, I went to grab the message, but at the last minute it spotted my mobile, it then squeaked into its miniature headset and took off.

Leigh Adams once said anyone can buy a cheap speedway bike and learn to slide. Perhaps we need to get back to that philosophy at championship level and take out all those extra expenses.

It is, but just run with it. Enjoy it for what it is speedway, rather than a win at all costs season. Promoters and riders have probably never found it as tough as the present moment.

Just do it.

Yes no atmosphere these days. Also I can say a 5-1 in speedway doesn’t generate half the energy levels in me that a try gives me in rugby. some serious marketing is needed on what grabs the under 16 and the 16-30 attention and holds them. What speedway does now isn’t working.

I think it was about 75 or 76 I would have been 4 or 5 years old. Horns , rattles the announcer/presentation pulled me in.

My kids are just not interested. I always ask if they want to go when I go, but all I get is "who wants to stand up all night watching that". The things that gripped me, the smell, the excitement, just doesn't appeal anymore to kids.

For me Bruce Penhall. Speedway was a big loser when he retired. We could do with a few more like him these days.

unfortunately the car version is more well known than our own motorcycle version over here. Very few now have heard of Motor Cycle Speedway.

If streaming isn't viable to a current aging disappearing fanbase, how do you get youngsters addicted? They certainly aren't coming through the turnstiles. Every bit of television my kids watch is via an app "on demand", they never watch any tv in the traditional sense.

thanks I didn't realise. I'll pay again no problem and I'm sure the hardcore will, but it's the silence majority you have to worry about.

Keep us posted please. I might call later as there must be lots of us wanting to know. I thought as it was abandoned it would have been a re-admission, but I'm just assuming.

and the irony is, 38 years on Leicester are back on track and Coventry has gone.

I hope so as it might slowly draw to an end the double-upping I despise. But it's a double ended sword as it may force retirements due to riders not making it pay. It'll be interesting how it pans out.

Wow, what a result!

From our point of view yes it does seem petty. Having been part of the group which included UkMartin, Brian Buck, Brian Bott, Chris Browne, Gerry Taylor, Kitten, Sue connop (bless) , little leddy et all, it was touch an go speedway would get full permission just to race one night per week. With the flats appearing close by do we want to ruffle more feathers going forwards.

There was so much dust I couldn’t see how the accident happened. And I had a good view. It wasn’t obvious to me Grobauer couldn’t turn.

A “Speedway Matters” movement perhaps? We could take down or demand to be taken down any statues related to football history.

Thanks mate. I’ve bought tonight’s and the next two admission tickets in advance. I’ve missed my speedway. That and the fact we spent an age getting permission to run in 2007 are my only reasons for going at the moment. It would be great to see you at PB again.
