What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Pirates Of Poole replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Do you know differently -
Like I say Bailey isn't coming to UK in 2026 and I was told that directly from his camp!
-
Beau isn't doing the UK in 2026, 100%
-
As did I! let’s hope he can get his bike reliably sorted as easily an 8 point man in Champ.
-
Maybe he has 😄
-
Vinnie
-
Bit further north.

I think if he decided to only ride in Poland and Denmark would be a bad move, he’s only 16 and would have a lot of pressure in Poland, riding in England would enable him to enjoy time on his bike without the massive pressure of Poland. I do worry him going straight into Poland, yes he has been shown the money, but that isn’t looking at the very long term and building to that, confidence is everything in any sport and Poland can make or break you. His Polish club will be telling him to base himself in Poland etc, but maybe his camp should talk to Boycie, Darcy and the Cook brothers and ask them what suited them best when they started out.

Berwick 2026

Very good signing on that average! Easily hit 8 in full season back. Bandits starting to take shape -
End of the day he is rare breed like Darcy, yes we need to be sensible with pay but this is an entertainment business and he will bring that in mass if he arrives at Poole. I remember when Poole snoozed on Darcy when he came down in the second half for Boston, he stood out and we should have got him at the time as an asset! Know assets aren’t around now but a year later he cost us 35k with a transfer from KL at the time. Long and short break the bank for Beau he will be worth it!
-
Lets just wait and see about Rushen!
-
Signing number 3 will be coming very soon!
-
Hope this does not effect the balance of the team, as that rider was important
-
Major concern!

Now confirmed Tobias departs for 2026.

I also wonder if the 1 eight point rider will be rubber stamped in January and a u-turn on that could happen as could mean more premiership team riders can double down like Pickering. -
Matt will be on it I’m sure.

Yes and that’s a worry, how many clubs have they been involved in and been on council planning hearings. Reading, Swindon, Birmingham, Coventry and Poole - my message would be, you come for Poole but you will be up against one hell of a fight, we won’t be push overs. We need to keep winning trophies and be well supported, get a commercial manager in place and attract some big money sponsors.
-
That is why Poole Speedway and BCP need to be on their toes, they are preparing the ground work.
-
Birmingham speedway also had Osborne involved, he has an associate called Christopher Lewis of steel life Perry Barr. He also has businesses registered at Poole stadium. We know what’s just happened at Perry Barr. He also has association with Abbey Stadium at Swindon.
-
BCP will see right through him, he’s done it far too many times now.
-
If Cala homes win a bid to build on the stadium site, they must find an alternate site for the stadium built before any works can take place the new stadium would need to be finished. We all know what will happen with Osborne involved if that didn’t happen.

Peterborough Panthers 2023
Pirates Of Poole replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sounds like The Showground could be an option for 2026 if things can fall into place quickly, a lot of work to be done but not impossible. -
I rest my case, this is a sport like F1, football, rugby it’s played out in the public sector and decision or lack of them are discussed. I’m sure people wouldn’t give 2 hoots about my company’s agm but happy to help, or other private owned companies. We are talking about a sport that has an AGM every second week of November and that hasn’t happened with no update. Fail to plan, plan to fail comes to mind. Forward planning is massively important in any business, but time and again British speedway lets its self down.

It's an absolute disgrace and shows the regard the BSPA (Clubs) have for their fans and complete lack of respect. Speedway star announced it was obviously 12th November then changed to the 6th of January via the speedway star. Nothing on the official BSPA website, which is poor and before the goody lot start coming back with 'its delicate and confidential' and that's why nothing can be said. Come on! they don't need to give details just give the supporters some basic information instead of radio silent and hope! Lets face it, Oxford and Birmingham didn't close yesterday! We have known since August (promoters knew longer than that) have they sat around for 8 weeks hoping someone will wave a magic wand and hope everything will be sorted, get real! It's a poor show and the fans deserve better.
