Championship KO Cup Draw
Pirates Of Poole replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I don't see the issue! more celebs doing this putting the sport in the spotlight and talking point is only good! They are trying something different, it could sink or swim but worth a try.- 63 replies

I would be very surprised if Matt risks it now, Doyle in the past and shoulder issues never tend to work out for a busy season. Best to look at other options.
-
He won't be ready for April! That is a major worry and that injury can take longer and if rushed will always be weak.

True to a degree and we do the same, we tried it with a none Poole rider this year but it didn’t work for us sadly so have gone back and sponsored a Poole rider for 2026. We have experienced so many times in the past, we sponsor - give the money and rarely hear anything from the riders until the time comes again when they need fresh sponsorship for the next year. Not all riders, we dealt with some cracking riders one in particular was exceptional. But with money not so freely available, riders should probably learn quick on that, how many are driving around or flying daily, how long does it take to send a simple text once in a while? Don’t need to be wined and dined but a personal message would go a long way. I hear the same with clubs too. Appreciation goes along way and we don’t put money into riders for the business we do it because I love the sport and want to help riders progress in a small way and hope it helps.

Oxford haven’t signed him, but like you say that will be put to bed at 7am tomorrow
-
No!
-
Think you will be very disappointed come Tuesday
-
Beau would have arrived on a 4.00 I believe
-
Thankfully won’t be for Poole 😁
-
Think once a certain rider named agreed to come here next year and changed his mind about 4 weeks ago, the club had to move quickly to get Dan signed up, the deal has been done and dusted a few weeks I would think 😁
-
Welcome to Poole, Dan! Great signing and if he can stay injury free he will easily add a point to his average! I’m sure the signing everyone was expecting will be delayed until the week up to Xmas Day and delivered as a perfect Christmas pressie for Pirates.
-
David has sponsored him for 5 years now

As I said Beau isn't doing UK! he is only doing Poland and Denmark for 2026. It was a tough decision for him to turn down Poole's offer but what he has chosen suits him for now. He will be over at some point in the next year or so. The last 3 are signed and sealed and all will be announced by Christmas.

The last paragraph 😂 clearly your source isn’t in the know!

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?
Pirates Of Poole replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Do you know differently -
Like I say Bailey isn't coming to UK in 2026 and I was told that directly from his camp!
-
Beau isn't doing the UK in 2026, 100%
-
As did I! let’s hope he can get his bike reliably sorted as easily an 8 point man in Champ.
-
Maybe he has 😄

Bit further north.

I think if he decided to only ride in Poland and Denmark would be a bad move, he’s only 16 and would have a lot of pressure in Poland, riding in England would enable him to enjoy time on his bike without the massive pressure of Poland. I do worry him going straight into Poland, yes he has been shown the money, but that isn’t looking at the very long term and building to that, confidence is everything in any sport and Poland can make or break you. His Polish club will be telling him to base himself in Poland etc, but maybe his camp should talk to Boycie, Darcy and the Cook brothers and ask them what suited them best when they started out.

Berwick 2026
Pirates Of Poole replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Very good signing on that average! Easily hit 8 in full season back. Bandits starting to take shape -
End of the day he is rare breed like Darcy, yes we need to be sensible with pay but this is an entertainment business and he will bring that in mass if he arrives at Poole. I remember when Poole snoozed on Darcy when he came down in the second half for Boston, he stood out and we should have got him at the time as an asset! Know assets aren’t around now but a year later he cost us 35k with a transfer from KL at the time. Long and short break the bank for Beau he will be worth it!

Lets just wait and see about Rushen!
