  1. Ha, ha, im sure while Robert would have been unhappy at first after five mintes he would have calmed down and concentrated on his next race. Ive been very pleased he has turned into a great team man(teenager)and the final result is all that would have mattered. Ive seen him pull aside to keep riders maximums, stay behind slower team mates, and is always in the thick of things in the pits. Im sure him and JG will still be good mates. Cheers Chopper
  2. Still nothing about the results. Could someone help out please, even just rider points. Cheers Chopper
  3. pete clean out your messsage box

  4. Yes he picked up the prize for fastest race time on the night, thanks for the sponsor of the award by the way. Does anyone know what the time was by the way. Once again some great racing put on by the youngsters, defying there age and experience. Cheers Chopper
  5. Great meeting last night, couldnt watch all the races as i was a little busy but what i did see was a testament to the National League. Heat 15 was as good as ive seen anywhere this season, Scunny have some good young kids as well, plenty to be excited about for the future. Cheers Darrell Branford
  6. Havent heard that one, i can only think of four aussies anyhow. Choper
  7. Sorry to confirm that Buxton arent there on sunday. It has been cancelled. Cheers Chopper
  8. quote He crumbled under pressure (well done to Jason Garrity twice by the way) and threw away points by sliding off when he should have stayed calm and held his position. Tom Young had a very poor meeting last week but started off last night with 3 from 2 rides including a very good point in holding off Robert Branford to get us a 4-2 and right back into the match after heat 7. But then he reverted to type and ran a last (excusable considering the opposition in that race) and a fall when in a points scoring position and we needed the 4-2 in heat 14. Pretty harsh on the two reserves, i thought they were fairly handy, Tom pushed Robert all the way in heat 14 and was within a wheel length of getting under him on lap two, and if he had of got by it could have won Newport the match, so i would say great effort, lets not forget they are young kids learning the trade, i personally made the effort to give him a pat on the back. If the other lad as you say crumbled under the pressure, i bet he learns from it, and perhaps it wont happen next time, once again all part of a learning proccess. Cheers Darrell Branford
  9. Pity that young Authur Sissis couldnt get there, he certainly would have mixed it with the big boys. Not sure why MA didnt get the best junior in australia there, maybe Phil Mac can fill us in. Chopper
  10. I wouldnt get too excited just yet, let the controlling body make a statement first. Theres no way they will let the result stand, you cant defend the undefendable. Chopper
  11. Good showing by the Aussie boys, all three making the final. not bad considering we dont use those bikes. Well done. Chopper
  12. Brilliant,,, thought the racing in nearly all heats had something going on, not always for first. Who cares about the pre meeting entertainment , i was there for the racing, the track was a credit to the people that layed it, smooth with some good grip out wide for guys like Gollob to use. Biggest dissapointment was Gollob having an e/f,could have been an even better final than it was. Brilliant weekend all round as far as im concerned. Cheers Chopper
  13. Finally a sensible post on this subject.I dont believe that something like 4 aus riders with patriality riding national league is the problem, it stems from a lack of a junior structure.Take a look at what other countries are doing and start from there. Cheers Chopper

  15. Not raining here and im about 20 miles away, maybe buxton supporters are a bit down after we have been nobbled. If you want i can post a weather update in the morning. Chopper
  16. And can confirm he was very much on the pace and getting stuck in. Also mucking in around the pits, a pleasure to have in the team. Chopper
  17. Ok thanks for that, that seems a fair price to me as i can see by the photos it has all the good gear on them. Wheels alone will set you back around a thousand. Chopper
  18. Its been tried before with the Shupa brand. A lot will depend on the price and if they are proven to be any faster than the old Honda motors, which the Shupas werent. Chopper
  19. Thanks for the results BFD, sounds like it was a good weekend. Getting some info out of a 16 year old is all but impossible. Robert had a great weekend, hopefully its the start of a regular weekend every year, bring back the red centre 1000. AJ Roberts the aussie off road champion was there both nights helping out Robert and asking plenty of questions about how speedway bikes tick. He was in town doing pre runs for the Finke this year.Well done to the people that organised the weekend. Cheers Chopper
  20. Hi bfd, I hear it was pretty warm up there , good drinking weather. Yes Robert has a habit of looking at the ground and not ahead, something he has picked up from motocross, Phil Mckay noticed it from some photos. You may notice we have been sticking a piece of duct tape, with an arrow pointing up on his handlebars. I hear him and Robert K had a few cracking races, he ran out of fuel in his last one. What was the crowd like, it sounds like the track was ok, back to the old days of cars and bikes together. Cheers Chopper
  21. Thanks for the info Phil, they announced it last night at Gillman. Well done to the SA boys, i had a feeling they would be up there. Also well done to Nick and Dylan for making the final. Cheers Chopper
  22. Sam Martin made a welcome return to racing last night with a win in the gillman solo title. His strongest opposition came from Robert Branford, and they had a cpl of good dices, including the final where Martin had to use all his experience to come from behind. Branford lifted slightly giving Martin the chance to sneek inside and go on for the win. Next best was Ben Turner who got a late call up and finished the meeting on the borrowed bikes of Hadcliffe and Branford which showed the good carma between the riders. Ben Hadcliffe was the other finalist and he showed good form all night to place well in the heats, and secure his final berth. cheers chopper
  23. Bit of an off night for Robert Medson? Thats for sure BFD, i thought he would be right there but who knows what happened. Im sure he will be in the thick of things in the 350 titles though as he has been going well around Gillman. Also well done to Kurtzy and Authur our SA buddy and all the other place getters. Cheers Chopper
  24. I just put the van on auto pilot now, its been a worth while exercise though, would love to get back to Undera and Broadford before the seasons out. Yes Mark Jones was on the gas again, im suprised he hasnt been snapped up by a team in the UK. No im not coming up to the Alice, i figure he has plenty of cuz,s up there to look after him. Word from up there is the whole town is talking about the meeting with good press in the local media. Hear there could be over a dozen solos, and a dozen sidecars. Yes Ryan is the proud new father of a baby girl, born yesterday. Cheers Darrell
