Yeh that does happen in business but i wouldn't sign a contract that lets them control how i leave but i understand why them businesses want them clauses in to protect themselves from rival companies. But in Sport it does not apply one bit no matter how much people think it does specially in Speedway, Morris can do as he pleases.

but it is, i can walk out of my job at anytime and go to another one ! so can a speedway rider. Nobody can stop anybody from working !

The asset system is weak and illegal, riders are self employed and plus this situation is no different to likes of us, we get offered a job and take it but then a few days before starting that job a better offer comes up and we tell first company sorry but something better for me has come up and will be taking it. Happens all the time and Morris is just like all of us and is doing what is best for him and his career. It is strange how it has come about and it is slightly unfair on swindon but i am fed up of fans saying we own him etc no unless you pay him a salary all year round then you don't own nobody and that person can do exactly as he pleases.

Team 2 for me, be great to have Compton back and he will be much better prepared for next season so he could be dark horse in side and if Morris does sign then we could be dark horse for title as around Owlerton we could be unbeatable again providing injuries don't cripple us again.

which is fair enough if too busy but we should be looking to be fresh and aim to be the best we can be, not playing catch up and being average in all departments.

Does not mean the so called experienced ones are any good either, Wilson knows the club like back of his hand and would do a good job, tactical wise the job is easy the hard part is motivating and advice which i think Sean would be great and would create a great atmosphere in the team which is something we have lacked for a long time. Time to make things fresh from top to bottom, lets not stick with the status quo all time and try new things, try to be one step ahead of other clubs for a change instead of reacting to others.

I used to stand on first bend a lot back in early 00's and it was very often full with plenty of atmosphere and banter between away fans but i moved to 3rd and 4th but last season often for last few heats drifted back round to first bend and the huge spaces were sad to see, need to get Owlerton jumping again on whatever night we race !

Like with Berwick, it can easily be done to have both on same day and they don't play every week at home so would be very easy. Think best way is to just let promotion make their choice and we go with it. But we definately need a good team this year in order to start tempting fans back and we need to show ambition that the newer clubs have done.

It ruled 50% of your small group out, could also work other way in many people who don't turn up on a school night would be able to go ! And as Berwick prove, you can work together so it could happen. I think the only way of boosting crowds is by us having a half decent team, that is always a good start !

Well i am glad to see they have a little ambition for once, bring it on and if they decide to take us Elite then great stuff, Sheffield has the potential to go far but Machin just let it slide.

Well done Tai Woffinden - broke collarbone twice on way to world championship as well as raising a shed load of money for cancer research in memory of his dad has just been crowned BT Minority Sports Person Of The Year, legend of the sport already ! another big year next year to come, back to back titles hopefully ! Well done to the speedway family for voting big time too hehe best fans in world !

But if you are trying to get the strongest team possible, Compton at reserve on that average is a must. Albin and Koppe yes maybe a lot of potential there and like them both but there is no room for sentiment in sport, and i said there is a fair few riders still available but there is no guarentee they will come to Sheffield. Lets build strongest team possible for once instead of hoping Koppe and Albin come good at reserve, we cannot take risks this season !

I fear for this team if we don't start with Compton at reserve with either Koppe/Greenwood/Albin, we are getting left behind when it comes to the top five but there are still some decent riders around to sign, but if we are weaker than others in top five department at least we can strengthen our reserves and they are often the match winners, so for me it is a no brainer Compton and another.
