I think Sky will be back in with a deal and more than likely all will be revealed at end of AGM, although for once be nice if promoters didn't keep fans in dark so much.

Announced today that the Eagles will be moving in on a two year deal, great news for Owlerton and the Eagles but now interesting to see what happens with the Speedway. Hopefully we know what is happening soon with AGM coming up.

All of it should be factored into the seasons budget like every other sport, how about the riders being skint from having no meetings in consecutive weeks, this way gives riders peace of mind at least and that is important with increasing costs in life not just speedway.

how about altering the way we run speedway completely, change teams to 6 man teams (solves rider shortage a little) and the club actually employ the riders they sign as in give them a guarenteed weekly wage like we all get and then performance related bonuses. Then clubs might be a bit more careful on who they sign and gives riders a bit more job security and satisfaction knowing they will pick up at least some guarenteed money each week between march and october.

Sad to hear Machin is going but for last two seasons you could tell his heart was not in it anymore but thankyou Neil for being one of best promoters around. Whoever comes in i hope follows the Neil Machin blueprint, whatever league we race in !

I think Dave Allen will be one happy man if he can get Eagles playing 2pm kick off and then Tigers racing at 6:30pm on a sunday ! Then he can shift his greyhounds to thursday night which he has wanted for years of course and it helps us with Air Fence as well no doubt. Just hating all the rumours, hopefully soon all our questions and the rumours will be answered and we can look forward to 2014 and a hopefully injury free season and a successful one.

I am pretty sure both could fit in on a sunday, only same as Berwick with football followed by speedway.

I can only go on past stories and recent stories to help here, Machin and Hoggy are looking towards the team they want for next season so i would guess that we are running which would mean we have the air fence issue sorted, but as we know in the past they have said they would struggle to put air fence up and down on a thursday due to time constraints because of the greyhounds ! So it could be we move to Sunday which the owner of Owlerton has wanted Sheffield Speedway to do for years. Hope this helps buxtontiger but as i say it is based on previous stories recently and in past years ! I am sure we will find out soon as the winter approaches.

Nice to see positive moves being made by Machin and co, looking towards next season will put a lot of doubt out of any fans minds about us not running. So let us end the season in hopefully positive manner now and look forward to 2014 !

Stadium owners have wanted us to run on sunday for years, thursday night greyhounds they can sell a lot better than sunday!

Not saying that at all marcelle but if it means sheffield speedway stays open and maybe things improve on and off track then even die hard thursday fans cant argue! I love thursday nights at owlerton and have done for 15 years but you have to look at the bigger picture!

Will work other way round also !

I think if you love speedway you go whether if it is weekly or every fortnight and i would prefer the latter, would certainly help families afford speedway a lot more. On thursday night at Sheffield me and my dad were talking about riders helping things out, meetings seem to drag on because of gardening going on before each heat, turning away from tapes, going back to pits after unsatisfactory starts, just get on with it ! 2 minute warning should mean the heat starts in 2 minutes so get to tapes and crack on.

Sheffield look like they will be riding in 2014, they have already said they want to bring Ricky Wells back in 2014 so dont worry about selling up, only thing i will say is get ready for us racing on a Sunday, will give more time to get air fence up and down for starters !

There was speedway long before sky got involved and there will be speedway after they have gone if they do pull out, hopefully British Speedway gets the overhaul it needs in winter (one big league for me) and lets hope the promoters work there arses off advertising to get new supporters! Main point of this post, however nice it is to watch additional speedway on tv, we certainly can live on without sky Oh yeh and bring back old tac subs also

One gamble we took at start of season in signing likes of Albin and Koppe has worked out ok and think Knight could have worked out but we just could not give him the time needed. One problem with our team build i noticed was we did go for a team of entertainers and racers now that is great but for a settled team it aint because them sort of riders do find themselves on injury table quite a lot more, now compare that to Ricky Wells who this season has to get rider of season, quick. smooth and getting big scores away and very good ones round Owlerton as well and i am pleased we are looking at signing him in 2014 according to Hoggy in star. I love watching big sweeps round boards and riders who never know when to give up but that sort of racing comes with great risks and mix that in with some bad luck then this season for us has turned into a complete write off ! Bring on this winter but lets hope the boys who do turn out for us from now until end of season can put the pride back into the club and give the fans something to look forward to next year and that starts this thursday against Scunthorpe. Come on Tigers.

Edinburgh will win, the only question is by how many.

68 - 23 , Promotion cant hide behind injuries anymore to be honest, other clubs have suffered but have quite simply dealt with it better and seems riders we have signed are all prone to injuries because of their riding style. It has cost the club badly now and its a club in freefall and its not nice to see.

Really enjoyed the first round and great coverage by Eurosport yet again, roll on round two on saturday !
