Missed the second loss but the first one in May was very impressed with the Rye House perfomance, Made Sheffield look like the away team to be honest.

Not just this year, been a club in decline for a few years and it has been gutting to watch newly set up clubs overtake us and be more pro active when it comes to entertainment on a racenight and signing riders in winter.

Hopefully Machin looks at signing Charles Wright who is in good form and at sametime starts looking to steal a march on rest of premier league with regards to next season, seems in recent years we pick up the scraps nobody else wants or use our asset base which is not that strong anymore.

Hopefully we can show some improvement tonight, good to have Ricky Wells back in team though !

Bad season for injuries again and after Rye House doing well on there last visit was expecting similar and they delivered, well done to them but this season pretty much a write off already for us, roll on 2014!

Should be a good final, Denmark will win I think but will be close.

Very good practice session from the Sheffield boys, only worry is Koppe at moment but hopefully the boy will come good in end.

Very happy chappy here, ordered virgin media for my new house which is installed on 30th and got sky sports to go along with Eurosport which comes with package i chose anyway, will record first grand prix at parents house but from then on good times.

Another nail in coffin for British Speedway, scb are a joke! Why turn down a chance for riders to earn extra money in a season in what could have been a great series.

Fair enough leaving last rider to be announced late in winter can happen but season ticket info and admission prices should have been released ages ago, if they are working to a budget with this team then they should know already what they plan on charging, i hope this is the first and last time i call the sheffield promotion unprofessional and that things will be a lot better next winter.

Speedway will always have potential to thrive but it needs to be marketed correctly and maybe get away from racing at home every week as it is costly now for people who go as a family and that is what is killing speedway, other reasons like the double points rule is another valid one this is not a cheap tv game show it is a serious sport and needs to be treated like one by its own promoters and then you have length of meetings to sort out and sometimes it can't be helped due to injury or fence getting cleaned up but two hours plus to run 15 minutes of speedway is a joke, I have saved my main point for last though and it touches on what an earlier user posted, rivalries ! we all loved Sheffield v Hull and the visit of Paul Thorp the meeting could be dire to watch but banter between fans and riders was brilliant, then battles with Isle Of Wight in 2002 and Danny Bird it was great entertainment and there is a severe lack of that now and would be great to get back to them days.

Either way we are not doing things very well this year, regardless of who we are signing the season ticket and admission prices should have been announced early December like every year before this year.

FIrst thing promotion should have done is announce simon stead and joe haines with season ticket details and i am sure might have seen a rise in sales, now i dont think they will with rest of side but lets hope they all prove me and other doubters wrong but just cant see it happening even with Steady leading the team out.

Agreed and god forbid if Steady gets injured at all then we will be in serious trouble. We might be solid enough at home but we have thought that in previous years and we just keep getting turned over by much better sides overall.

The thing is then though we had input from Machin, Hoggy and Boocock, this year it is just one huge mess. Team has been built in such a bad way that were going to fall way short of points limit whoever we sign.

Wonder if Machin will have learnt another valuable lesson this year, don't naff off on holiday until he has done team himself instead of leaving the one man disaster Hoggy in charge.

more than likely but i am sorry sponsors are going to be like fans and say i am not wasting my money on this sorry bunch of riders, note to promotion like every other club out there, put the best team together possible like we flaming used to, then the fans will be buzzing and if we get on a good run sponsors might be a bit more interested. end of day to make money sometimes you have to spend some as well, how we have gone from one of leading clubs to this i don't know.

I bet they could have offered Wells same deal as last year but not as easy soon as they signed Steady, the team could end up a disaster if they are not careful, give him same deal then at least we have some decent back up to steady.

at end of day if machin wants fans to turn up he needs to complete this 1-7 if not we might as well chuck towel in and ask for a spot in national league, how long ago since 2002 does it feel now.

I am starting to worry now a little that the Promotion have gone about team building the wrong way, Knight should have been announced as the last signing once the other 6 were confirmed and knew what points they had left. For me now and i know it is harsh on Knight but i would sign Poole and North, see what is left and find a new number 7, might leave us weak at top end but at bottom end we would be much stronger i'd hope. Promotion are out of ideas and it all started so well.

We are normally a lot quicker off the mark setting prices for new season and i am pretty sure we are sticking with Thursday so who knows what the hold up is.

Think most sheffield fans would love, north or poole over Hall but just someone tell our promotion that.

If i was a Glasgow fan i would be very happy with the signing of James Wright,he can easily stick a point or two on his starting average and i would have hoped Sheffield considered signing him at least instead of Hall.

I think when season starts up again from fans we should all chant theres only one neil machin! Can only feel for him losing spirit in the sport because many fans feel same but maybe we should appreciate what we have got and next season will be a big improvement on 2nd to bottom! Can tell hoggy has been left in charge though releasing stories that are old news.
