  1. Rose is, albeit not in the main body of a team yet. Schramm however is not capable of being a lot more than a 3 pointer.
  2. Fair comment - from the big hints given already, cuts have to be made somewhere to allow for someone of Danny Kings calibre.
  3. It's a number game, and sometimes sacrifices have to be made. I remember the Somerset promotion coming all sorts of criticsm when we chopped Sam Masters in 2012 before going on to lose the title by a single point on aggregate, and then chopping Nielsen last year which ultimately was the key to us becoming league and cup champions. Sometimes it's a risk worth taking, although I'm surprised it was Rosen to go and not Lindgren.
  4. Try and paper over it as much as you like, but Sheffield broke the rules here. They should have had a NL guest in their side and not R/R for either Roynon or Proctor.
  5. This one really isn't confusing, just the BSPA made a massive balls up - imagine the uproar if Sheffield win by 2 on aggregate.
  6. I presume a 28 days is set to follow too then, for withholding his services - however, as we well know the isn't the case and he's been stitched up well and truly by Sheffield and Ty Proctor.
  7. Hardly a bumper crowd but the car park was full, so I've seen a lot less. In answer to your question, we always prosper over the summer months crowd-wise so I can't see why this year would be any different to our previous 12 years in the Premier League.
  8. The only rider who got in the thick of it in his final two rides was Heeps but as wide as he went, the Rebels just went that little bit wider! The score line doesn't reflect what a fantastic meeting this was, some of the races had to be seen to be believed quite frankly. However poor the Witches were, the Rebels were good, very very good in fact from 1-7. Nick Morris in a league of his own, Brady and Olly unbeaten also, as would Todd have been had Olly not fenced him sadly. Charles after needing a change of underpants when racing against Schramm, was again sublime and seems to have taken to the no.2 role like a duck to water. A special mention for Paul Starke who sadly missed out on his maximum, but was stunning and his pass on Heeps in heat 12 was out of the top drawer. Let's hope we go on and tonk Workington next weekend too!
  9. I look forward to seeing him in the Sheffield team tomorrow night.
  10. This move hardly comes as a surprise - it was said in Josh Bates' interview after winning the Under 21s how he wanted to thank Ty Proctor for all his help blah blah blah.. so it comes as no surprise when promotor Bates introduces him at the expense of Adam Roynon because of who the family friend is. All very ironic for Proctor....
  11. And given Ty Proctor's form this season, I would say justified too.
  12. To be fair to Garritty he looked as though he was riding the nuts off the bike, but the bike seemed to be letting him down - although that didn't stop him from being completely reckless at times! What has happened to the once superb at the OTA Jason Bunyan? He was about half the track behind everyone by the time his 3 races finished! Kennett looked half decent until Allen took him to the fence in heat 11 and looked uninterested after that. Fair shout to Luke Bowen who gave it a pretty good go too! For Somerset Brady, Pontus, Olly and Josh were all superb, with more valuable points from Charles Wright who since the tail end of last year has been an inspired signing for us. Starke continues to impress and whilst Todd looked far from being quick, paid 8 wasn't a bad return at all!
  13. As I said, we made you look a lot better than you are.
  14. This is still a poor Plymouth side, masked by the flying Katajisto at reserve. The moment he goes I to the main body and Benko who is poor drops the reserve it will only get worse. Somerset have been somewhat inconsistent, looking world beaters at times and not so good the next - but there's no doubting last weekend we made you look a lot lot better than you actually are.
  15. Some fair points in there Mikey and two observations for you - the Olly Allen one it is impossible to see the white line on turns 2 and 3 from the refs box so I would say it's hardly surprising he missed that. I can think of numerous times it's happened in the past, not that it makes it right. Whilst on the subject of crossing the line, what an idiot too the referee was putting the red line on to exclude Charles Wright mid race, and both Starke and Reade started to slow when crossing the start line to then realise the red lights weren't actually on - hence why it then got turned off. With regards the start tapes, this is the 3rd week on the bounce we've had issues with them going up lop sided.
  16. Two of the most ridiculous refereeing decisions you are ever likely to witness tonight - first of all it being announced that Katajisto had missed the two minutes in heat 14 when his bike conked out for the second time when at the tapes and returning to the pits, only for the two minutes to go on and then be told this was the original two minutes that went on... surely this is common practice for a referee to put the two minutes on before a race? Effectively gave Katajisto an extra two minutes to prepare for the race, when he should of been excluded for missing what should of been the original two minutes. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, Jensen goes down in a heap coming out of bend 2 as if he had been snipered from the clubhouse patio and stays down when it was clear he was going to be one the excluded, and rightfully was. However, as the time of the stoppage the other 3 riders had just entered the final lap with Allen gaining tremendous speed around the outside and Vissing having a decent run up the inside too. Not only did Ronnie Allan award the race and put an end to what was going to be a great final lap but with the result of the race still very much in doubt where any one of the three could of won it, especially with the match still in the balance, to award that seems absolutely ludicrous. Special mention for Matt Wethers however who was superb value tonight - cracking ride in heat 13 to come from the back to pass Vissing inside and then Allen outside.
  17. With Matt Wethers at no1 we should hit 60 tonight.
  18. I think there's a reason he's never done two seasons on the trot for anyone in this country. Somerset and Ipswich didn't have him back after his first season with them, and he left Newcastle and Glasgow after a season too. Wasn't good enough at the time and still isn't now for Elite League.
