If And When Bomber Retires..............
FAST GATER replied to dj350z's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That maybe so but his GP series has done serious damage to it over the years not least destroying weekend speedway at EL level in this country ,so maybe his words are somewhat "hollow" to say the least !! -
John Jackson has got to be up there !!!
-
11 from 5 last night for PK and the opposition was at least EL standard !!!
-
i beg to differ IMO provided everyone has the ability to roll how can it be cheating ? the ONLY penalty should be for breaking the tapes and no way should flyers be brought back especially under the current rules. The Refs used to know the rollers and it was a duel between them which added another dimention to the sport ,I believe that the like of Olsen ,Mauger and Kilby woud still have been the riders they were today even under the current rules ,riders can either "gate " or not regardless of the rules .
-
Is PK still using one in Swedish league IMO a lot of the improvement of the GTR is down to his imput which impacted on his EL scoring last season .
-
I was never put off going to speedway because of the starts ,I didn't considered it time wasting just part and parcel of the whole spectacle and hugely entertaining nothing better than seeing a top riders sent back to the pits for tape breaking .
-
Too right I loved it ( bit like marmite ) sheer theatre between riders out foxing each other often the starts were better than the race itself .

Great that the first EL match is over and I am sure that things will get better and better looking forward to many years of speedway in a first class setting . -

Points money not all riders can afford not score to the best of their ability but I do think that the present method works -
Was this not his first meeting of the season maybe a little "ring rusty" IMO would still be the best s/string in the EL

I think that we have to accept that they acted in good faith and thought that the meeting would go ahead ,I was there and will be happy to wait for my refund so I am putting my money where my mouth is as it were!! -
Belle Vue National Stadium

I respect your opinion but TOTALLY disagree these two men have given the best part of 10yrs( time and money) to bring us one of the if not the best stadium and Track ( once the issues are ironed out) that we have in this country from scratch and built for s/way only.It is already an amazing feat IMO and I wish them well and forward to many visits in the future. Chris Morton's first track my beloved Ellesmere Port lies in ruin waiting for the bulldozers so i am so glad that this track has come to fruition and IMO it is safe and caring hands -
I just hate the format it is wrecking EL s/way by the day

FTR is a problem full stop !!! -
If it gets rid of EDR I'm for it That's how I was always told the crash happened nothing to do with handicap system ,IMO the GDTS was scrapped at the riders request( I believe Briggs threaten to retire if the handicap system was not banned in his day)just like the handicap system they say it puts more stress on the engines.
