  1. It is only a top drawer meeting on paper. NOW IF they put some dirt on the paper it will be a different story. Was the track any different from a league meeting to the individual British Semi Final. That, by all accounts, has been your best meeting. Why? The track is prepared for the riders & not for entertaining the paying public. Howarth rode Sunday also.
  2. But it's not simple as it's a numbers game. If Brady's schedule would fit it would certainly help Poole, would it not. Alluding to the fact Auty, Douglas & Wilko have all dropped their averages, how would he fit without dropping 2 riders. It could, also, come down to when the averages change in the Premiership as, yes, he is at 7.65 but currently riding at 8.8. Is there a conversion from Premiership to Championship that we don't know of, yet!
  3. A top 2 or 4 team to only win by 2 points when 2 of our top 4 are struggling is a poor result but a win is a win. I expected you to have got all 4 though so a point dropped.
  4. Wilkinson was scoring well early season because Ryan was still trying out the GTR. Kerr had a bit of a mare whereas Auty & Toft score over half of our points. Auty not doing well just lately but might have pinpointed the problem(s). So, I am not sure which Scorpion team will turn up but I will be there to support them through thick & thin.
  5. Losing our captain maybe not good for morale & geeing up the lads but someone will step up to the plate. A very decent guest in Kyle Howarth, especially after last week. If he can repeat that score then he should help us AND help his parent club. A double bonus.
  6. At the start of the season, we had team building averages from 2016 (& beyond for some riders). As the season progressed the standard 4H & 4A meetings were used to start a new average for 2017. Once a new average has been achieved then an established average is changed every 2 weeks (Regulation 16.2.6.1) throughout the season. As no team changes are permitted after July 31, if you are not in a team then, basically, that is your season over. I am not too sure what will happen if injuries occur after this period as I have not seen anything in print. There will probably be a Supplementary Regulation appear early August to cover this.
  7. I agree . It has been talked about a lot but not seen anything about the conversion rate. A 1.2 multiplier has been mentioned most.
  8. mikebv has come up with some good ideas which work in other leagues, so we must try to adapt some in our leagues. I am an advocate of trying to have 2 fixed nights for the Premiership as it worked before when Sky were in town for the old EL to race on Mondays & Wednesdays. The Championship then can ride on other nights minimising the use of guests. This is difficult due to teams not owning arenas but renting. 5 man & 6 man teams work abroad so could be tried here as not enough riders to go round if doubling up/down still to be used. If riders are unavailable then use the IRR facility where 1 rider above & any rider below can take their rides. A no8 to be named in case of further injuries during a meeting where he takes the reserves rides if a reserve will take his maximum of 7 rides. If 2 riders missing then a "guest" to be used who is not in a declared team in the subsequent league. Unattached or riders coming back from injury could then get rides.
  9. I don't think there is any sponsorship with GM only certain riders endorse the product through the media
  10. I do know that he has one new mechanic in Reece Harvey who used to mechanic for Ryan Douglas & help other riders, S Worrall, L Bjerre, T Busch to name a few & I know he is well respected by others. He is the son of BIG Paul Harvey who used to spanner for Magnus Karlsson. Reece is based abroad(I think in Sweden) for Freddie's European teams & GP's & I am not sure of his other mechanics abroad or in Britain but they must all be decent as Freddie is racking up the points where ever he rides (another max last night). There is, also, Jonas Kylmakorpi in the background helping out as advisor in pits & testing.
  11. See post #10 To keep up to date, click on http://www.speedwaygb.co/championshipteamissues17 then bottom blue arrow for latest changes
  12. I have, also, said this many times over many years & this year more so as at the AGM & what Rob has said that this years team make up in the Premiership & Championship was to make match results tighter so in effect results are in doubt until heats 13, 14 or 15. Unfortunately, this is where we suffer & nearly all teams have better 1 & 5's to hurt us, Peterborough being the exception now Berwick have signed Morris. We can not gate & this is down to set ups not fast engines & we were never going to catch Sheffield's big 3 once they hit the wide line.
  13. http://scunthorpescorpions.co/?p=7129 That looks like a GM to me. Maybe he has both.
  14. SGB Premiership & Championship League Meeting Regulations Index 18 IRR is 18.11 for both leagues It is, also, mentioned in this http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.31552 ............. Dated Nov 03 2016
  15. Kerr moved to 6.30 from 14/5 & has improved a little bit more on current averages to 6.40
  16. (Danny) had nowhere to go and although he tried to avoid gave him a bit of a knock, but clearly it was Kerr's fault entirely and the rider behind had to shut off and was impeded, kind of unfair riding I guess to be judged What about the incidents that we see on tv in the GP's(the Pedersen move), old EL where riders are going round the bends & the rider infront goes to the fence to block/impede his run causing him to shut off, momentarily, to avoid an accident. This incident has been talked about many times before as well as riders pulling lockers for similar reasons.
  17. I would not be looking long term for replacement unless he is out for the season(which, hopefully, is not the case). Now we have got Stefan, we need to keep him plus with his average being fairly high for a reserve, we should, nearly always, get a decent guest. With the averages changing every 2 weeks, he could move into the main body where r/r is only applicable(I think). Just need Wilko to score 6pts from 4 rides. Anything less & his average will drop below Stefan's.
  18. Cameron Heeps at reserve could be good & we know what BWD can do after his 12 points for 6 earlier this season. Heeps is the man in form though. R/R for Douglas means Kerr, Wilko & reserves to take his rides so the guest has to be a good one. Please, NO Hall or Lambert edit Heeps is also here the following week so could be a tricky one. Gets track time but doesn't deliver the goods. (Rob, just pay him a bit more money)
  19. Douglas withdrawn tonight & mentions concussion. If true, he will be out for 7 days meaning we will need a guest up to 6.18. Just had a quick glance & not a lot of choice out there.
  20. Well that's the end of getting a result or point now Douglas withdrawn
  21. All of Bailey's points have come by way of a riders fall, exclusion or retirement bar two 3rd places at home to Belle Vue off Smith. Iknow there is not a lot of riders who could have started at 7 for K/Lynn at the start of the season but I think he should stand down & concentrate on his other 2 leagues. Time will tell whether the other riders doing 3 leagues(Bewley, Smith, Perks) will suffer burn out or mechanical issues.
  22. 16.2 6.1 Updated MA’s will be calculated on all eligible meetings, up to and including Monday’s meetings each fortnight for issue on Thursday to become effective from the next Monday.
  23. With riders having the extra rides MPT 11 Kerr 10 Douglas 7 Auty 6 Nielsen 9 Bailey 1 Scorpions to take an away point
  24. They have him down as 4.00 as that is his true average.
  25. As far as I am aware, they were leaving it as late as possible for Carl to commit or not to tonight's meeting as he scored well there last year & now it weakens us. Douglas is the rider above in averages with Nielsen & Bailey taking the other rides. This, also, means Bailey has 4 rides as Nielsen would have probably replaced him in one.
