Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020
IronScorpion replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The picture (from post Feb 12) has not been taken at Scunthorpe going by the tall tree and close by roof. From memories of Mildenhall(2011), you entered via steps into the arena close to the café. There was also a grass bank on the back straight so, as a guess, this is a picture taken by a photographer at Mildenhall. -
Hawks, any chance of changing the header to Kent Royals NDL 2020

As proven, riders read the forums. Promoters, managers, mechanics, riders families, sponsors ... the list goes on but this is the real world of social media of how word is spread & could be taken out of context to how it was meant.

Now it,s Caroline Flack! Mental health is unreal plus the abject posting on social media can send anyone off the rails whether it is personal ,media orianated or financialial, there is always a trigger. Another sad loss for whatever reasons. -
On the price increase, you will be seeing better standard riders in the Championship but for others now picking & choosing meetings, based on the new prices, he would have to lose 1 out of about 7 punters. Even based on a crowd of 700, do you think about 100 will stop going. What they might miss out on, though, will be the possible away supporters.

Poole Pirates 2021

When Nielsen reached a 7 average, he was riding at no2 when off the inside gates in heat 1, he generally came 1st or 2nd. Add to that heat 8 where he, also, came 1st or 2nd a lot. He was, also, riding with a guest at no1 who, mostly, were poor. -
Well, you have already benefitted in the KO Cup by getting a bye in the 1st round because you couldn't organise your fixtures in the league.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020

I have just been through last years Wolves Updates/results where Nick did not ride in meetings Early April to Mid May so his 28 day facility must have been extended. On further reading, he received a knock to his wrist, ruling him out of the meeting v Birmingham, so this must have been a pre-season injury in testing/practice. -

Didn't Wolves use it for Nick Morris(I still do not know how as he didn't ride for them the previous year) but Danny is a "roll over" rider from last year so is not new to the team. This area was talked about a bit last year but with no definitive answer. -

It would not surprise me if Rob & Dave went down the r/r route for the first month to see how the riders cope & see who has started the season well, maybe, here or in Europe. -

SCB appoint Track Curator advisors for 2020.
IronScorpion replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It is ok that the SCB appoint Track Curator Advisors for the poor, bumpy tracks that we have opinions on, and we are all entitled to our opinions, as some of these poor tracks as away fans see them, the home fans will have a different opinion. Shale has been in short supply these last 2 years & the changing, seasonal weather has not helped. What some tracks have done though & have done these last few years is change the shape to produce better racing. Ipswich & Leicester are teams that have tried a couple of changes. Glasgow & Swindon this last season made changes that the riders, fans & opponents liked. Berwick are changing theirs at this present moment. -

Most teams will still prepare their track to give a home advantage rather than for entertainment value to the fans. More than likely, these are the teams that wanted the aggregate point back. -

It has been mentioned on the BSPA site that there might be a Most Entertaining Rider Award in memory of Danny. There is, also, a justgiving/crowdfunding page started, hoping to reach £1000. I think that was bust within an hour & now stands at over £3400. Well done to all. -
When Tai came back to Britain in 2005, his dad took him to a lot of after meeting practices to see how he fared riding different shaped tracks. He then spent 2 years riding for Scunthorpe in the Conference before moving to Rye House & later Wolverhampton, so he DID spend a lot of time learning the basics in the UK.

Totally, Totally shocked. R.I.P. Danny Condolences to family & friends. I was looking forward to 2020 hoping to see him improve even more with his tie up at Ipswich. Also, some of the posts on this page(3) should not have been posted whether it be about Danny or Benji. -
The diehards will still be there, it is just the maybe's or lapsed supporters that might be interested so it is a win win for the club. Massive respect.

I think you will find that, most if not ALL, were because they were in 3 cup/ play off positions.
-
Ask Workington fans how many meetings they had in a short space of time in 2018? This includes double headers & the abandoned "ice off".
-
Cast your minds back to 2018 & the uproar it caused when Scunthorpe struggled with rider availability for injured riders & requested teams move to their original race nights! Now this happens, about Poole, before the season has started & when a few fixtures could have been better arranged to suit the original draw made on the 27th November. When did the fixture planning start? A VERY POOR EXCUSE & posters wonder why Poole were hated in the EL/Premiership!
-
Looking at the April fixtures, Poole are not racing on Wednesday 8th & Poole v Birmingham on the 15th could have been re-arranged. Poole did not have to have a busy start to the season as all other teams have spare days. What is their alternative race night?

How would you know it was their first time & how would it be policed?
