  1. Post of the year....he's a bigger fool than I gave him credit for!
  2. There are no riders just purely on appearance money, most are on a guarantee and points money, even promoters are not that stupid! However its not rocket science to watch certain Sky meetings and see both sets of promoters lose money, a heat 15 5-1 could cost a promoter any where between 30-50 paying public!
  3. last nights meeting was a poor advert for the sport.
  4. anyone remember "soldier boy" who was a bit of a character on the terraces?
  5. It is becoming more and more evident that the Elite league is fast approaching its sell by date, how refreshing to see overtaking and close racing last night in the Premier League and also how enjoyable and interesting to have no boring and tedious interviews with the likes of Rossiter, Middleditch and co. Surely the time has come for the BSPA to do a deal with Sky to take the so called Elite league off of our tv's and replace it with mainly the Premier League and even the odd meeting from the National League. The Premier league is far from perfect but in terms of entertainment and excitement it is almost like a different product to the Elite league. The programme has a real future the only problem is that it is stale with the same teams, same team managers being interviewed year in year out. Let the programme promote our sport and show people it is exciting, riders can pass and we have different characters in the sport.
  6. Hows the new stadium looking, has Rosco it opened yet?..there was a picture of him with a speedway bike and a set of plans many moons ago in the local paper!!
  7. pretty similar to a certain Aussie who displays his lack of enthusiasm for a track by not putting it all in....not much difference really only that one of them has a pair.
  8. Just looked at his interview after heat two, he had the lump then so no dramas after all!!
  9. Who lumped Bridger?...he's got a beaut of a lump over one of his eyes.
  10. I always thought his passing was more to do with the way he squared the corners off when overtaking!!
  11. Fact #1..Bjarne is a poor mans version of Todd Wiltshire, start tart. Fact #2..Most riders nowadays cant ride on anything other than a smooth, slick track. Fact #3..The Pirates don't like it up em! Fact #4..Brady Kurtz is an accident waiting to happen. So on that assumption any fan walking into the stadium and see's a track that is anything other than ultra smooth can expect riders to not put it all in?
  12. To be honest I'd rather watch racing on a track like this than some of the roads we usually see.
  13. Yeah the tracks rough in places but proves the point most riders nowadays don't know how to race other than on a smooth track. The likes of Bomber, Nicholls, Loram, Gollob etc would of stayed on,
  14. The only thing that has surprised me is the Swindon fans thinking a new stadium would be built.
  15. rolling at the start is the same as using model airplane fuel...cheating!
  16. do you honestly think a stadium will be built?..let alone for just greyhounds. Too many people have too many memories of previous promises of new stadiums.
  17. Ole Olsen was the master, at Coventry they even had to bring in a massive rope to try to stop him rolling!
  18. on those figures then the promoter would of lost money I would guess.
  19. so then, how's the new stadium coming along?
  20. would be interested to know what cheap deals Sky are doing at the moment, my contract is up for renewal and am thinking of leaving.
  21. who gives a flying fekk about the Aussies in the SWC, most of them are just good time charlies.
  22. a very good post by Steve Shovlar, I can see why Tai chose to ride in the likes of Poland, Sweden etc as opposed to Britain, the main reasoning being money, the one thing I don't understand is that previously he has said he was "tired" during a season, like most things in life you cant have the best of both worlds. By all accounts Pete Adams has been instrumental in his achievements and success in the sport, time will tell if Tai has anybody in his camp with that influential and calming manner.
