Grand Final 2nd leg Ipswich vs Leicester
Odds On replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well done Ipswich and commiserations to Leicester. Two talking points for me, Heat 3, Douglas bails out whilst his team mate is in front, shows no intent on getting off of the track, ref has no option but to re-run it, low and behold its a 5-1 to Ipswich and its just about game over in all honesty. Lost any momentum and in reality and any chance of winning the meeting. Heat 14, think Hawkins dropped a clanger, changing reserves could of cost Ipswich the title, obviously it is now irrelevant but at the time he should of had the luxury of having a reserve to bring in if one of them had touched the tapes or been injured etc, Only small things but massive in the grand scheme of things!! -

There has been very little racing....main reason being the tracks are far too slick, must be a directive from either the promoters or the riders, either way they are killing the product. -

The format works so no need to change that, the one thing that needs addressing over the winter months is the track preparation and that goes for the Grand Prix's as well, the tracks are atrocious and serve up little more than follow the leader, speedway is in the entertainment game and these events should be the prime events for the world to look at and watch, now if us hardened speedway "fans" find them boring then how do we think "newbies" to the sport feel?? Last night the track was that slick i would imagine even with the very small crowd they would of covered the shale costs! -

thanks for the reminder, can teams still use a joker and or rider replacement etc and is it double points?.. -
What ever the sport, you go into a competition knowing the rules and the parameters. Whether they are seen to be right or wrong by some is irrelevant. The biggest disappointment for me is the general preparation and state of the tracks, they have been terrible and almost gate and go. Well done to BZ but Brady conducted himself well as a human being let alone as a sportsman. The record books will show BZ as equalling winning the most world titles, if he wins one more then he will be the GOAT,

Ipswich v Belle Vue POSF Leg 2
Odds On replied to blue witch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would be pretty hacked off if I was a Belle Vue rider, fan, promoter and team manager, when your number one, captain and team mate puts in a performance like that. -

if Belle Vue get within ten points they would of exceeded my expectations. -
Belle Vue -V- Ipswich POSF leg 1

How refreshing that the best rider on show last night was a Englishman, absolutely brilliant. Ipswich are in the box seat, will have to be a different Belle Vue team turn up for them to progress.
